Many years ago, I visited the original HeeMee Bakery downtown. It isn't very close to me, and dealing with downtown construction and parking has always been a definite downside. Luckily, HeeMee now has a second location on University! Parking still isn't the easiest in this area, but before the UA starts back up again, it's much easier to find a spot. What a cute little bakery and drink shop! I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that they have an entire food menu with sandwiches, rice bowls, ramen, and other goodies. Since it was a hot day, I ordered an Einspänner, a cold brew topped with cream. The coffee was very smooth, and the cream on top was extra thick and rich. It wasn't quite as bold as I usually like my coffee, but nevertheless, it was a nice treat. I especially love the cute décor and atmosphere at HeeMee. It reminds me of many of the charming tea and coffee shops I've visited in Asian districts in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I'll definitely be back to have a meal and try another drink from their menu! read more

Let me first say this is not a restaurant. More like a hang out coffee shop. They have a lot going on- bowls, ramen, corn dogs, noodles, sandwiches...coffee, drinks, gelato... They may do some of these great but what I had wasn't very good. I'm not sure if they have legit cooking equipment in the back... I had the yakiudon bowl and a side of cabbage salad. It was supposed to come with two easy over eggs and I saw a precooked sunnyside pair go in to chef Mike's (rowave) oven. I could not eat the eggs. The old was like hard rubber and couldn't even be cut through with a fork. The cabbage salad was just chopped salad. I'll maybe try it again. Have a sandwich or something. Nothing with eggs though. Staff was nice but had to wait a long time to be helped. Only one person preparing drinks and taking orders. Longer time waiting for the microwave to beep. read more

Great food great drinks. I wish they had this location when I was a student. When we were students they were barely opening up their congress location and only had a handful of items on their menu. I can't tell you how happy I am to come back for graduation and see that they have grown to have a second location here on University and have people sitting, working, chit chatting, eating, and relaxing. I truly would've spent majority of my undergrad here if they had a location here. They have such cute decide and this adorable aesthetic nook right at the windowsill. I couldn't take a pic because a family was in there enjoying the view and space. We shared the Korean fried chicken bowl with the cabbage salad. I LOVE the cabbage salad. I'm so glad that they have it on their menu. It's so refreshing and it is a staple if you've ever been to any Asian country. The Korean fried chicken is crunchy and flavored to perfection, especially that honey soy flavor. The spicy flavor wasn't that spicy at all. For drinks we shared the coconut matcha. They use coconut milk so it mass my lactose intolerant tummy extremely happy. They use plenty of matcha and the coconut milk doesn't overpower the matcha at all. It's not over-sweetened which I appreciate a lot. Most places drown their matcha in sweetener and you can't enjoy the actual matcha. If it's not sweet enough for you, you can go up to the counter and ask for more sweetener like my friend did! They're happy to help you out :) they have a fresh pastry display case with soooo many delicious looking foods. I want to try them all. Towards the back they have a counter with napkins and a cold water station with cups and straws and stuff for your needs. The restrooms are down the stairs through the doors and to the right. It looks like the restrooms are shared with the university's building but it's clean and nothing to worry about. It does seem like a hassle for those with disabilities though. Overall I'm so sad they didn't have this when I was a student. If I'm ever in Tucson I'm totally coming back!! read more

Finally got to try this second location and was not disappointed! It's decorated with a cute white and green/pink pastels. They have baked treats, many of which were gone by the time I made it in with a friend. Luckily though, I was in time to try the French toast which it's only available up to a certain time! I got cookie butter, of course. The dish took quite a while to make as I believe maybe at least 25 minutes went by before I was called to come get it. It was large and light, which was great. However, it was lacking in the cookie butter flavor. I would not have known it was cookie butter if I hadn't picked it myself. I went to see if there could be maybe a cookie butter drizzle put on top of it, however, all they have is the actual thick cream I was told. That cream was not on the French toast, however, maybe it was mixed into the whip. There's quite a large menu and I would definitely come back to try more. read more

As someone who's always on the hunt for a go-to coffee spot, HeeMee completely won me over. The atmosphere is cute, chic, and aesthetically pleasing without trying too hard. There's plenty of space to sit, whether you're getting some work done or just slowing down to enjoy your drink. They're known for their strawberry matcha, so I had to try it with oat milk and it did not disappoint. It was so good I almost finished it before I even realized. Smooth, slightly sweet, and really well balanced. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. I just moved to the area and already know this is going to be part of my regular routine. Found my new spot. read more

We stopped in with the grands yesterday after a ballet recital at the U of A. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their corndogs and gave them a thumbs up. The food took a long time to come out. Everyone was getting restless. It's a good hang out for college kids with wi-fi and lots of plugs. My daughter enjoyed her noodles and rolls, and we all had iced cream. It's Saturday around lunchtime, it was very busy, and line was pretty long. Very nice host & good service. Inside is spacious (bigger than it looks from outside) but still it was pack. The food comes bit longer than I expected. The drinks was good. I ordered spicy korean ramen, it's a bit bland because it has too much soup. I finally got a chance to go to the new location of HeeMee. I don't normally do activities on university because my work takes me elsewhere and so this Saturday I found myself heading home and decided to stop by and check it out. The space is very beautiful and decorated in pastel decor with a lot of seating options for individuals and groups I ordered the dalgona latte. It's not the first time having one, I've had some in other locations in California. It was just as good as I remembered with lots of pieces of honeycomb on top. I decided to get a bread, milk pastry with yuzo on top and a custard filling that was similar. I also decided to get a brownie that had a blueberry cream topping and blueberry compote. I have the opportunity to look at their menu and there's a lot of entrées and lunch specials available. Since I had already eaten lunch, I just decided to get a little snack and a drink. It's my hope to return very soon. Everything I had tasted wonderful the employees were very helpful and explained what all the different pastries were because it's not easy to tell by sight alone. I can completely understand why there is an obsession over this local spot! The inside is large with ample seating, bright, natural light, and aesthetically pleasing decor. The times I have been, I had pastries (cream filled donut and glazed donut) that were tasty, a strawberry lemonade which was a little bit too sweet for my liking, and a chai tea that was perfect. Our entire family is a huge fan of going to the downtown HeeMee, but we don't find ourselves in that area too often. So we were overjoyed to see this new location open near the U of A campus. The menus are very similar so you have lots of drink, bakery and food options. They have gelato here as well. There are lots of indoor seating and a few tables out front. We've stopped in a few times and each time it's been busy. Love seeing local businesses do well. We've just done drinks and pastries, but we've had their entrees in the past and they're delicious. Can't wait for their Snow Ice machine to be up and running so I can order their bingsoo, shaved ice. Perfect for our hot summers, but good all year long. read more

I visited HeeMee on Sept 23, 2025 and Sep 26, 2025 shortly after they opened this location. They had an impressive display of pastry options making it hard to choose. Both times I visited I got the sandwich + FREE pastry set, and ordered the spicy beef bulgogi sandwich and chocolate croissant. Sadly, I believe this combo is no longer offered which makes sense because it was too good of a deal. The sandwich is incredibly delicious and large enough to share. I wasn't a fan of the strawberry matcha I had on my first visit, I couldn't tell if it was the matcha powder they were using, but I found it extremely lacking. My friend loved every bite of her kimbap and found she wasn't able to finish it, the portions are very decent for the price. Due to its popularity on campus, wait times for drinks are long, and for wait times food are longer. The reason I'm not giving 5-Stars is that one instance when we arrived the trash can was piled about 2 feet above its opening, which grossed me out. It was remedied while I was there, but I was bothered seeing trash next to where the straws and utensils are kept. read more
