Scallops were good but pairings sauce and salad in the middle was ok. Garlic noodle was okay as well. Bit strong on the soy sauce but needed a bit more depth of flavor or sweetness. Sushi was good. I personally liked the eel roll. Service was good and waitress was attentive. Overall it's a solid asian restaurant offering decent sushi and asian food in the area. However it's not unique since they don't offer m anything that is significantly different from other asian restaurants. Since it's a bit far from where i'm located not sure if i'll return unless I'm already in the area.

He did tell me they were redoing the menu. The miso soup was really good. We ordered a variety of sushi, which was also very tasty. I found it a bit odd the way they did their rainbow roll, which rolled all the fish inside the roll instead of fish layered on top. Also, the crunchy veggies inside the rainbow roll didn't really go with the rest of the fish very well. The Christmas Tree roll was my favorite and was delicious! I have to mention an odd circumstance about parking in their lot. When I came out of the restaurant there was a car blocking us. Apparently, since it's a small lot they tell people you can block cars but you have to be willing to move it once a table is done and wants to go. I bit into the one and only scallop in my bowl and it was freezing. Infact we got 2 miso ramen bowls and they were cold too. We personally would have liked more veggies but the only real issue was that my ramen was less than lukewarm. Ambiance was great and friendly I'm sure if my food was warm I would have loved it. When I saw the impressive average star rating of Hao on Yelp, I took it as a sign to give up on the traffic & treat myself to some sushi instead. I felt like I had sat down in her home - that's how hospitable & familiar she felt. I asked for a bowl of miso soup to start, & it appeared in front of me in less than 3 minutes. It was warm, balanced, & the perfect appetizer. I moved on to some toro nigiri & their "crispy rice" appetizer (which was topped with spicy tuna, tobiko, honey miso, eel sauce, & fried seaweed.) The toro was spectacular. It was tender, fresh, & topped with a balanced little chutney situation that tasted a bit like wasabi. I don't like wasabi. I always opt out, if I can. But this little chutney was delicious! The crispy rice appetizer was spectacular & comforting as well. I could've eaten 2-3 more servings. I concluded my meal with an order of avocado & cucumber maki. It was rolled tightly & well balanced. A perfect, fresh roll. I'm so glad I stopped here! Dining in was a great choice. The location is convenient, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. That's become increasingly rare these days. The only reason I'm stopping at four stars instead of five is the service. While I've never had a genuinely bad experience here, the last few visits have been noticeably slower than I remember. Service has also felt a bit inattentive at times, and these weren't during packed dinner rushes or busy weekend nights. Nothing terrible, just enough that I found myself waiting longer than expected for drinks, check-ins, or the bill. That said, the food continues to be excellent, and that's ultimately why I keep coming back. After 15 years, Haruki East has earned a level of trust that few restaurants achieve. The ramen boiled egg is cooked to perfection with a nice soft yoke, and you can tell it's been marinated for at least a few hours if not overnight in soy sauce. You can really taste the smokiness in their smoked salmon. They make you feel really special with great service, and sometimes Chef Jake will prepare something off the menu to surprise us. You can tell in his creativeness and attention to detail that food is his passion.
