    Combo dinner
    Katie L.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and was quickly seated in a booth in the dining room. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We shared a delicious (and strong) Scorpion Bowl. I had a dinner combination plate (boneless ribs, chicken fingers and steak teriyaki with Crab Rangoon and chicken fried rice. I enjoyed all of the items in this order and would certainly come here again.

We loved everything. Wished the fried rice had more flavor but overall we loved it all, can't wait to come back! The lomein had bok choy, so happy!

I do not know what happened between our dining-in visit and our recent take-out visit, but the food received was bad enough that I won't return. The order was packed correctly. There were an acceptable number of condiments and cookies included. The staff member who assisted us in house was pleasant. I ordered through their website. The vegetable egg fu yung had no taste. I can't explain it. I added a packet of the included soy sauce and it did not help at all! I actually opened another packet and tasted it. Nothing. Again, it was weirdly tasteless. I tried some soy sauce from my fridge thinking maybe I'm getting a cold and can't taste it. Nope. The soy sauce we have tastes like soy sauce. To be fair, the hot mustard was tasty. Vegetable Chow Mein had a bit more flavor. Salty and those crispy noodles added flavor and texture, but all round, this is just a dish of overcooked cabbage, sprouts and celery. Would not repeat. The online menu shows 'Beef eggroll' as an appetizer option. I was thinking instead of pork and cabbage, they were beef and cabbage and ordered them. On the restaurant menu they are listed as 'Philadelphia eggroll' so I was wondering if they were like a cheese steak. I've had 'Irish eggrolls' which have shaved steak and cabbage and those are good. These are only shaved steak and they are greasy and again, tasteless. No spice. No cabbage. There may be a bit of onion and bell pepper in there but not enough you can tell. I reheated these in a skillet and about a quarter cup of fat leeched out of them during the reheating process. Ick. Everything needed spice and/or was over cooked and/or very greasy. I don't know if there is a new owner but this is very disappointing. We won't return.

My family and I have been going to this local restaurant for nearly a decade. The owner Dave, manager Jason, bartenders Pam, Amanda, and Carolyn always make you feel like you're at home. It has a classic Cheers feel to it. The sushi is always fresh, and they offer gluten free alternatives. If you sit at the bar, you're bound to chit chat with other locals.

We went for lunch so it was not super busy; we were maybe one of two patrons inside. It was nicely decorated, and there was a TV above our table playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. What a good movie! They served wonton chips with duck sauce, like chips and salsa. What a nice touch! I have never seen that before at an Asian restaurant. We ordered some general Tso's chicken and then one of sushi lunch specials, which came with two rolls and either a soup or salad. I chose the salad, which is like the ones you get at hibachi. It was drowning in that orange tangy sauce, but it was still good! The sushi was good, too. Not the best I have ever had, but still good. The whole meal was perhaps $25. That's crazy for the amount of food we got! Highly recommend.

The pros: the new owners are very friendly and personable. The wonton soup is still great and has even more wontons and pork lately. The Peking ravioli seem to be even tastier than they have in the past. The cons: in the past 2 weeks, I've ordered several dishes that were very different and sub-par compared to the food under the former owners. The chicken and broccoli was very goopy and the chicken tasted spoiled. I had to throw it away. I ordered chicken teriyaki and that chicken tasted sour as well, as though it was spoiled or had some type of spoiled marinade on it. This happened to me twice. Last, the waitress is no longer there I guess, so there is one person trying to work the front and serve tables. It's not working out. What was once one of the busiest corners in Arctic is now a ghost town. I dined here on Christmas Day at the invitation of a relative who has eaten here a few times and swears by the clay pot dishes. The restaurant was very busy, busier than usual, I was told. We were seated quickly, which felt promising. That momentum did not continue. After we said we weren't quite ready to order since we had just sat down and a couple of us were new to the spot, we asked the server to return. She did, about 10 minutes later. From there, it became a series of waits. The appetizer arrived first, then one main dish was served, leaving the other two diners waiting another 12 minutes. Plenty of time to admire someone else's food. There were a few service hiccups. One water glass had a visible crack and took some persistent hand waving to replace. The soy sauce container was empty, and after more waving, I eventually stood up and borrowed one from a nearby empty table. Light cardio included. The dishes are pricier than average, which I'm generally fine with. The restaurant is clean, newer, and located on the outskirts of East Greenwich, which may explain the pricing. What disappointed me was my $26 eel hot pot (aka Unagi Kobayaki). While it tasted good, it consisted of four slivers of eel, yes, four, which we confirmed, a few avocado slices, and a lot of rice. For that price, it felt ambitious. I could have enjoyed a very nice sushi meal elsewhere for less. Ordering clay hot pots is not new to me. To be fair, one of my companions ordered the Boneless spare ribs hot pot and enjoyed it. That dish had noticeably more protein and felt far more balanced. In short, the food flavors are good, but the service struggled, perhaps due to the holiday rush. I may try this place again on a less busy day, but with several other options nearby, I do not yet see a strong competitive advantage.
