I was happy to find a nice Asian restaurant to have a great inexpensive lunch with friends. The decor and wait staff are pretty good, in that they speak English and are really polite and attentive. The interior is bright, clean and well designed. As you enter there is an amazing fish tank with huge carp, goldfish, etc... Very good for the kids. Actually the fengshui is great here. They really put some effort into creating a comfortable environment. It is probably best for lunch. (I haven't been to dinner here, so can't review that). The soup was great, sometime TOO much cornstarch, for one time I went, the soup looked and moved more like gelatin but still tasted great! I love the hot and sour soup. Really hard to find good hot and sour, by the way. The pad thai - not so good. (I guess not authentic from my perspective) they use really thin flat rice noodles, instead of the wider pad thai noodles, and the dish tastes like it has some soy-based sauce in it. (a little strange), as it should really be fish sauce and ketchup. The Vietnamese summer rolls - mediocre (not authentic) But passable. (Aspara better). The second time I had them at Jacky's they used pad Thai rice noodles. Pretty much ruined my expectation on the consistency of this particular dish. NEVER had them with different noodles. Too much noodle not enough balance with the herbs and shrimp. The Thai spicy basil pork was AMAZING. I definitely would have that again with the fried chicken wings, brown rice, and overly corn starched soup! For a lunch under $7.00 this rocks! I highly recommend checking their menu out for lunch to figure out what you like. They have lunch specials every day, so its great to check out during the week or on a Sat/Sunday. Pleasant environment, and right next to a great nail place next door. Conveniently located right off Rte 5, Atwood Ave, in the Stop and Shop Plaza behind Town Fair Tire and Citizen's Bank. Its one of the few places I'd actually consider bringing guests for lunch. Their mixed drinks also look really yummy and they do a decent job with presentation. I have been to Jacky's in Cumberland for both dine-in and take-out and it is great. Clean, decent service, and great food. It has a very extensive menu with Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Sushi. I have had the Nime Chow, Crispy Beef, and Pad Thai as well as the basic egg rolls and they are out of this world. You are noticing a trend with the reviews. When I try the Sushi, I will update my review. Check this place out if you're looking to munch on a few things over a Scorpion Bowl or get some take-out after a long day. Make sure to try the hot mustard. read more

In my opinion, this is the best of the regular Jackys locations. They have never messed up an order, whether it be takeout or dine-in. We go there about once per week. Ivan is always there to greet us at the door, and most of the waitstaff have our favorite items memorized. (they just ask if we want the usual) Their nime chow is the best in RI, and they have lunch specials 7 days per week. (unlike the new high end Jackys locations, which are twice the price and don't offer them on weekends) Highly recommended! read more

Wow! And wow again! Everything we ordered was perfect! The service was fast and friendly and the menu had everything I was looking for. We ordered hot sake, miso soup, nim chow, spicy tekka roll, torpedo roll, avocado roll, and french crunchy roll. The nim chow was fresh and chewy! It had more noodles than many others I've had, which was awesome for the texture. The peanut sauce served with it was so tasty! They didn't skimp on the peanuts at all. My favorite nim chow ever! My husband and I tried this for the first time today and loved it! We went for lunch and the special is such an amazing deal! For $7 a person you get rice, an entree, soup, and wings or chicken tenders. I tried the sesame chicken and wonton soup, both of which were delicious. My husband had the sweet and sour shrimp and was pleasantly surprised with how big the shrimp were. We also started with crab rangoons as an appetizer. They were some of the best I've ever had! I agree that out of the several locations, Jacky's Johnston is by far the best! Mainly because the service is the friendliest and they make the best drinks! I love this place because it is a fusion of several different Asian cuisines, and there's something for everyone. The less adventurous people can go for Chinese, while others can have good sushi or go for the wonderful Thai, Cambodian, and Vietnamese dishes. If you're like me you can get a little bit of everything! This is my favorite place to meet with friends in central RI. The prices and portions are both good, and the food is delicious. I have several favorites I usually go for - the Cantonese Beef noodles (stir fried dry) are simply out of this world, and I will drive out of my way just to get a takeout order. If you eat in you can't go wrong with a banana daiquiri... The staff is friendly (and will remember you if you're a regular) and the booths are nice with high backs for privacy. The restaurant is also very clean and nicely decorated. And yes there's a fish tank that's good for entertainment if you're waiting. My favorite is the long fish with the constant frown. I stopped in Hei for lunch today and wasn't impressed. When I was sat, the waitress asked if it was just for one by yourself. They could work on that wording. I had their pick 3 rolls lunch special and had the miso soup with it. The miso soup was watered down and the avocado in my salmon and avocado was partially brown. Overall my meal was okay. I probably won't be back as there are many sushi restaurants around. read more

Hei Place has been my go-to Chinese spot as of late. My husband and I like that it has both Chinese and sushi. My favorite thing to order is the wonton soup because of the way the dumplings are made in the soup. They are more delicate and thinner than most places, which I think makes a huge difference. We also love that you can order online! The staff is so nice and even helped me carry the food out to my car when I had the baby with me. read more

I always eat lunch here as the price is very reasonable, around $6.20 including tax. But the best of all the food is good with specially the chicken wings. Best value !!! My only wish is that they extend the lunch special after 3pm as I always arrive 3:05 pm or later. After that time, the price jumps to around $10.20 including tax. But 5 starts for them. read more

I found this place through my GPS my boyfriend one night while having a crazing for sushi, never heard of it but decided to give it a try as it wasn't too far from our way home. We were greeted right away and found the service very good and the staff friendly and attentive. The nime chow was awesome, fresh and tasty. My boyfriend had sashimi which he said was excellent as were his chicken wings. I had Shrimp Pad Thai which i normally always love but thought theirs was just okay, nothing special. Not sure but it seems to have had thin spaghetti mixed in, and not enough sauce to flavor it. The alcohol was very reasonably priced as was the food and they had many options to choose from. Overall, I enjoyed the quaint cafe style atmosphere, Asian theme and music and we plan to go again though next time I'd pick something other than the Pad Thai. read more

How are there no reviews on this? Jackie's is a little hidden gem in Johnston, we go all the time. There are a few in RI but this one is by far our favorite. The service is top notch, even if it's just pick up they'll offer you a seat and some water if you have a couple of minutes to wait. The food is always fast, fresh and delicious. A few dishes are a little on the take it or leave it side but we all have our favorites. If you like sushi this is a spot not to be missed. They have a spider shrimp roll (not technically sushi, it's a cooked shrimp tempura roll) that is expensive but we can't help but get at least one with some tempura sauce every time we go. The drinks and decor are also on point, I've even named the fish in the tank. Tell Nemo I said hi! read more

Stick to the Chinese options since they offer dishes from all over Asia. I had the pad thai, nothing like the authentic dish from Thailand. Kind of gross. I might go back to try it again. I was so excited to finally try this place. I was quickly let down. Our waitress was completely rude and miserable. I ordered a simple cucumber roll, it was falling apart and it didnt taste fresh. I then gave the hot and sour soup a try it was slimey in taste. We finally receieved our combination plate which was also a joke. The fried rice was flavorless, the chicken wings were hard with little meat, the boneless ribs were burnt and the crab rangoon was oily and had way to many onions. Horrible service - I went there with my niece and son and I understood it was during lunch time but the waitress was horrible. When she came to our table it was basically "what to drink?". Not even a "hi", "hello", I look at my niece and we glared at each other of the rudeness. A few minutes later she ask "you ready?". I'm so puzzle by this type of attitude especially in a hospitality industry. Each time she deliver or foods she never asked if we need anything else or came by to see if we were okay.
