Very quick service and good quality food for a decent price. Somehow they are able to do Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese food all very well. You can't beat the lunch specials. They have a lunch menu of Chinese combination plates for under $10, and they have sushi lunches that range from $8-15 that come with soup or salad. Both the miso soup and hot and sour soup are excellent. The hot & sour is definitely my favorite, and one of the best I have had around the area. It actually has mushrooms and vegetables in it along with plenty of tofu, and it's nice and spicy. When you order hot and sour at most places in the area, it tastes like yesterday's leftovers thrown in a pot. Nope, this is definitely fresh. I do like the miso too. It's not too salty and has lots of seaweed. I tend to stick to the sushi dishes here because it's always fresh and a good value for what you get. And I looooove that they don't put huge rice balls under the fish so I can actually eat it in one bite! Sometimes the rolls here fall apart when you pick them up, but that can be forgiven since everything is so fresh... never brown avocado or stringy celery, and the fish is always perfect. Last night I got adventurous and tried the nime chow with shrimp. It came with a side of peanut sauce for dipping. So delish! You also MUST get the green tea tempura ice cream! I have shamelessly eaten a whole serving even on a "full stomach" .... there's always room for ice cream. Also, the fish tank at the front is pretty awesome. I actually don't mind waiting for a table here (not that I've ever had to wait for long) because the fish are so fascinating to watch. Jackie's is the stand-by chinese/thai restaurant that we often get take-out from on a weekend night. They have never messed up an order, and the food is always fresh and piping hot. Our favorites on the menu are: pad thai sesame chicken chicken and eggplant hot pot shu mai cambodian lot nime cow Also, don't go here without getting the crab rangoons. I believe they have been voted some of the best in the state and they are dee-licious! Occasionally we will eat in at Jackie's, however, the ambiance is pretty blah and the service is just okay and can be a little slow. Better to take it home and enjoy at your own table! read more

This place is amazing. The food is excellent and the service is terrific. They have all kinds of Chinese food and also a huge SUSHI selection. The prices they charge for the meals are more than reasonable for the amount of quality food you get. My wife and I have never left there without a to go bag. I've been here for dinner and take out several times since they reopened after the devastating fire a couple years ago. The food has been consistently good and the restaurant atmosphere is perfect. My wife and I were there again for lunch this week and had a very nice experience. We both ordered from their very extensive lunch menu, all reasonably priced. I ordered the Pad Thai, which came with choice of soup, rice and battered chicken fingers. My wife ordered General Tao's Chicken that came with the same sides. We both had the hot and sour soup and it was delicious and the flavors well balanced. Both main dishes were very tasty and well presented. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday lunch and the wait staff was plentiful and attentive. I would definitely recommend Hei Place to anyone looking for a very nice Asian meal eat-in or takeout. read more

I really wasn't a huge fan of the food. I got a D25, general tso chicken combo. The egg roll was great. However the fried rice was bland, and the chicken tasted more like a sweet and sour chicken or orange chicken rather than general tso. I haven't been here since before the fire. I decided to give it another try since I remember it being decent food. I wasn't impressed with the food. However the remodel is gorgeous and the service was very friendly! Comes with soup, rice and a small chicken app.Was served very quickly- hot and sour soup- very flavorful but spicier than I am accustomed to. I would get it again but it is hot. This restaurant is a nice little find in the Stop & Shop plaza. Apparently, a lot of people have already found it because my wife and I waited 25 minutes for a table on a Friday night. The waiting area is sparse. In fact, when we walked in, there was a line out into the foyer. There wasn't a hostess taking name, so everyone who was waiting was writing their names on a sheet of paper on the hostess station. I would say that this was the only drawback to the evening. We started with an order of the vegetarian nime chow. You get 4 pieces on a platter with peanut sauce and a spicy chili sauce. The nime chow had a strong basil flavor, which was satisfying. I compare all nime chow to Lemongrass'. Hei Place's isn't as good, but I would definitely order it again. For dinner, we split the general tao cod fish, shrimp lo mein, and vegetable fried rice. All of the portions were generous. The fish was lightly battered, slightly crispy, but very easy to break. It had a fresh taste, and the sauce was slightly sweet and not overly spicy. The lo mein was tender with an appropriate mix of Chinese vegetables and a sufficient quantity of shrimp. Like the cod fish, the shrimp tasted fresh and was well cooked. I especially liked the noodles. They weren't overly long, which made it very easy to scoop them up. They had a satisfying taste and they weren't oily nor greasy like some restaurant's can be. The fried rice was likewise tasty and not overly greasy either. With 2 sodas, the bill came to $39 before tip. Free refills on the soda also. Overall, this was a great experience. While Lemongrass is still my go to place, Hei Place definitely comes in second. I'm looking forward to coming back when Lent is over, so I can try their chicken and beef offerings. read more

Wow, wasn't expecting such a good Sushi bar experience! Feng the sushi chef prepared a wonderfully presented arrangement of a Tricolor sushi roll, some Saba and Tobiko. He even prepared a special dipping sauce for the roll. The roll was unique in it's wrapping. Kombu paper as opposed to typical Nori wrappings. While chatting he made me up an appetizer of diced cucumber, crab, and something I forget topped and mixed with his own whipped up Spicy mayo. This place never disappoints! I started going for the Hot & Sour Soup, which is vegetarian ( they use tofu). I'm not much of a meat eater and most places use pork. It's thick, plentiful with mushrooms and sprouts, just the right amount of heat. Everything else I've tried has been very good as well, like the Nime Chow with shrimp, pictured below. The sushi menu is amazing and everything is made to order. You can have a seat at the sushi bar and watch or have it delivered to your table in the dining room. On this occasion, my daughter ordered two vegetarian rolls ( she takes after her mama): The sweet potato and the cucumber and avocado. Each was a marriage made in heaven of blended flavors, textures and even temperature, as the sweet potato was cooked and still warm. The menu offers a great deal of variety and, as far as I can tell, they excel at everything. The lunch combos are a really nice deal: Lots of food, quick service and it won't break the bank. This was my first time going to Hei Place, and I was hoping for a good experience given some of the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I came away very disappointed. I won't return. I ordered two lunch specials: shrimp pad thai and shrimp lo mein. Several deficiencies: (1) Lack of vegetables in both entrees. It was mostly just noodles. (2) Lo mein was overly salty and rather tasteless. (3) I requested mild, non-spicy pad thai and it ended up being spicy. (4) Lots of rice but skimpy on the entree portion. (5) Chicken fingers were disappointing. I'm giving the place two stars rather than one only because the fried rice was ok and the woman who took my order was pleasant. read more

It may be the best of the Galaxie locations, with a clean bright interior. Service my first time was only just OK, as was the Pad Thai, and the dumplings. Sushi rolls, and the portions in general, are generous if a bit clumsy. General Tao chicken was overcome by the sweet and goopy sauce, no spice at all. They do serve four or five different kinds of chicken wings. I had the Spicy Garlic ones, and although they weren't very spicy, they were tasty. I would order them again. I would have liked to try the shrimp that is reviewed so highly here, but I got a whiff of old shrimpy smell walking in the place and was put off from ordering it. read more

I strayed from my normal dinner of Chicken Pad Thai to try the Rice Noodle Soup with Chicken and was rewarded for my efforts. For around $10.00, I enjoyed perfectly prepared vegetarian Nime Chow, but the star of the show was a giant bowl of Rice Noodle Soup (serves 2, but let's be honest here, it just served me) that I've been dreaming about ever since! Deliciously cooked chicken, light, flavorful broth, a generous helping of rice noodles, all topped off with a handful of fresh sprouts, a squeeze of lime, and my personal touch, sriracha and pad thai sauce. I have had Jacky's Galaxie before and they never disappoint. So some co-workers and I were starving around 9:30pm last night. Our shift ended at 12am and we needed something really good. It was a loon shift). We opted to take out some dishes from the Jacky's Johnston location. Service & Experience Not only did they take our order so close to closing (10pm), the food tasted fresh and delicious. I had the spicy fried chicken wings. It was not really spicy but, I can eat them all day. Such flavor! The fried rice was equally as good. I recently had a bad experience with Asian cuisine and this place perked up my palate again. Came here for a quick drink and an appetizer. The scorpion bowl was one of the best I've ever had! However the spicy wings weren't very spicy. I would definitely come back and try something different. Wish some of the food options had more of a description. When I asked the waiter what something was he couldn't describe it. They had accidentally gotten a friend of mines order wrong and quickly handled that for them without a fuss. I loved the hot and sour soup, which I will definitely be ordering in the future. Just returned from picking up an order for four people placed last night in preparation for New Year's Eve. I waited in line for forty five minutes tonight to pick up my order and was told at the counter that it was never made. The order was lost. Not my first choice in Chinese food, but my family likes it. NEVER WILL RETURN THERE AGAIN! I'll keep my business at Bon Asian Grill down the road like I should have for tonight. The food and service have been spectacular. We haven't dined in but the remodel looks very nice and I really love the expansion of the menu. Glad to see fish tank is back! It took them a few weeks post re-opening but their website is updated and user friendly. We are hoping they offer delivery through Doordash in near future. I broke out of my comfort zone and I tried Nime Chow for the first time and it was so delicious!! Absolute fresh flavor! Then based on a recommendation I tried the Vietnamese traditional rice noodle soup, OMG it was so fresh, tasty, with a hearty broth, I'm addicted!! The experience here has been so superb that I'm looking forward to trying some other dishes I have never had before. I usually stick to what I know, but I kind of trust these folks now, so going stretch my zone a bit. Others household members really love dinner combo offerings, and the fresh sushi, such as french crunchy roll and spicy tuna. I had the veggie sushi and it was fresh, well packed with plenty of ginger and wasabi. I even got one for work lunch the following week. I was happy to find a nice Asian restaurant to have a great inexpensive lunch with friends. The decor and wait staff are pretty good, in that they speak English and are really polite and attentive. The interior is bright, clean and well designed. As you enter there is an amazing fish tank with huge carp, goldfish, etc... Very good for the kids. Actually the fengshui is great here. They really put some effort into creating a comfortable environment. It is probably best for lunch. (I haven't been to dinner here, so can't review that). The soup was great, sometime TOO much cornstarch, for one time I went, the soup looked and moved more like gelatin but still tasted great! I love the hot and sour soup. Really hard to find good hot and sour, by the way. The pad thai - not so good. (I guess not authentic from my perspective) they use really thin flat rice noodles, instead of the wider pad thai noodles, and the dish tastes like it has some soy-based sauce in it. (a little strange), as it should really be fish sauce and ketchup. The Vietnamese summer rolls - mediocre (not authentic) But passable. (Aspara better). The second time I had them at Jacky's they used pad Thai rice noodles. Pretty much ruined my expectation on the consistency of this particular dish. NEVER had them with different noodles. Too much noodle not enough balance with the herbs and shrimp. The Thai spicy basil pork was AMAZING. I definitely would have that again with the fried chicken wings, brown rice, and overly corn starched soup! For a lunch under $7.00 this rocks! I highly recommend checking their menu out for lunch to figure out what you like. They have lunch specials every day, so its great to check out during the week or on a Sat/Sunday. Pleasant environment, and right next to a great nail place next door. Conveniently located right off Rte 5, Atwood Ave, in the Stop and Shop Plaza behind Town Fair Tire and Citizen's Bank. Its one of the few places I'd actually consider bringing guests for lunch. Their mixed drinks also look really yummy and they do a decent job with presentation.
