First time here for dinner. 4 adults and 2 kids We ordered 4 main dishes, 2 little jars of soup ($5.99 each), the mochi pancake and a big bucket of rice It was plenty of food and we even had left overs! The prawns were so good!! Crispy outside and bouncy inside, skip the walnuts though, they are cold and soft The ginseng chicken soup has an of little bones... wish they stained it but taste was good Everything taste good with the prawns being most surprisingly good. Roast pork was sold out which was bummer At the end you get the coconut milk tapioca dessert, it's very cold. I prefer it served warm/ hot but the kids loved it cold. We went on a Monday around 5:40pm, it was really quiet and only 3-5 tables occupied while we were there. Food came quickly besides the soup; I think they forgot We had to ask for forks and water for the kids which some restaurants automatically ask/ give you; otherwise everyone was friendly and food was yummy. Super pricey food that tastes bad and owner has really bad attitudes... no thank you, nothing..! We ordered take out : 1. Braised Mix Mushrooms with Beef Granales & Black Ppper...$32.99!!! 2. Honey Walnut Shrimp $25.99!!! 3. House Fried Rice...$20.99!!! Nothing tastes good here and when we picked up the food, the owner was mean and didn't say a word when we handed her money. Wow, I've been back to this location so many times. In those years, this restaurant has changed its owner, name, and chefs at least a couple times. But it's always been a dim sum place. It's.....never been the best dim sum place. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. This time was not bad. Chicken feet: Pretty good. I definitely prefer this sort of flavor and soft texture over the harder ones. It could use maybe a tad more spice though. Fen guo: Delicious, I always like these. Only complaint would be some of these fell apart a tad too easily for some reason though. Pork ribs: Good texture and flavor. Not too oily. Tofu skin roll: Quite good. Although, similar to the feet, I would've preferred just a tad more umami. Sticky rice: Ooohh, these were surprisingly nice. Not only the mushroom and meat, but even the little bit of egg. I do wish there was some fat on the meat though. Tripe: It's good. Tripe is tripe. We also had a winter melon soup that I didn't take a picture of. That was pretty good also. This is a new restaurant that serves dim sum all day. They sell bbq chicken, roasted duck and roasted pig in the front area. Many customers came to wait and pick what they want to take home for dinner. A very big restaurant that can seat a few 100. Lots of tables for a banquet or parties. All tables comes with an ordering pad where you can order at your leisure. We ordered three dim sums and a special noodle dish. HK Style Pineapple Bun with Butter, Black Pepper Beef Ox Tripe and Shrimp Rice Roll. The special noodle dish we ordered is Pan Fried Vermicelli with Pickled Vegetables and Beef. We got the dim sum quickly. The HK Pineapple Bun was crispy and delicious. It was my first time eating it. The tripe was tender and delicious. The shrimp rice roll was flavorful. The Vermicelli noodles that I was told after checking on it was it takes 25 to 30 minutes for the dish. I had hoped that they will of told us. We will of ordered something else. The dish came and it was filled with vegetables and vermicelli inside a fried vermicelli cover. The fried vermicelli cover was cut into 6 pieces and you open it and the vegetables came out. This place is a vibe. New restaurant by Ranch 99. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a staff member who graciously seats you at a fancily decorated table. There is a giant screen playing video images and shows w/o audio and a separate small screen with a music video on which also is the music coming over the speakers. Lovely interior. Great service. Good food. Dim sum and full sized entrees. Cannot emphasize how fast and courteous the staff was. Perfect place to celebrate Lunar New Year or any special occasion. We used to dine at this place a lot of times when it was called Imperial Garden. We'll, the big sign on top of the bldg still is called imperial garden, but the sign on the door and menu has changed to Heji Restaurant. They also sell bbq pork, roast pork, duck over rice or noddle, or the whole roast pork. It is located in Great Wall shopping center, Kent. Reservation: we called few days ahead for reservation, because we know it's chinese new year. Our reservation was at 5pm, barely anybody there which is perfect. Full service, it is easy to get their attention. Once it hits around 6:30 to 7pm, all the table are pretty full, kinda hard to get the servers' attention for Service. Weekday Lunch Take-out Dim sum was good to delicious. Significantly better than the restaurant it replaced (Imperial Garden). Standouts were the soup dumplings and pan fried chive and shrimp dumplings. Would 100% recommend the dim sum menu. BBQ/Roasted Meats: only tried the roasted pork and it was hard as if it was reheated too long. Seasoning seemed okay so it would be worth trying again on weekend to see if it would be fresh then. Even so probably not go-out-of-your-way-for level. Ranch 99 deli next door is better. Service: Counter takeout order/checkout was fast and attentive. Food took acceptable amount of time to prepare/package - not super fast though. Inside: Looks pretty much like any Chinese Banquet Hall. My husband and I wanted to see if this restaurant was just as good as imperial garden... it was a total let down. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice roll, pork shrimp siu mai, deep fried pork puffs, pork pare ribs and Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. The shrimp dumplings were bland and hard to eat. The shrimp rice roll had maybe 2 or 3 pieces of shrimp in it and had an extra chewy texture to it. The deep fried pork puffs had an excess amount of oil on the inside and the pork was flavorless. The pork shrimp siu mai and Chinese broccoli were okay. The oyster sauce was not good at all. We both had to ask for sriracha and the hot mustard 5 times each to give our meal some flavor. We had to ask about the pork spare ribs multiple times . When they did finally bring it to us we were done eating and sent it back. The waitress seemed annoyed that we told her we no longer wanted the spare ribs and had to tell her no 3 times. We were visibly disappointed and annoyed that we wasted our time and money on a meal here. We could've gone to Seattle or Tacoma for a better meal and experience. The only things that we enjoyed from our dim sum were the honey walnut shrimp and the free tea. Come to Heji restaurant if you want to pay over $75 for bland food. read more

I had lunch here with a friend today. We had never been to Heji before, but it had been recommended to me. Great idea! An old school dim sum place with a fairly formal, attentive, and very efficient staff. The lighting is bright, which I prefer, but it is bright in there. There's a giant screen showing computer generated nature and landscape animations that's a little weird, but none of that means anything once the food arrived. The Beef Chow Fun was really good, yet it was the least great item we ordered, and it was very good. The pan fried leek pancakes were killer, very eggy, you could argue it was as much omelette as pancake. Excellent though. The soup dumplings were the best I've had. The Chiu Chow style dumplings were subtle and unlike anything I had ever tasted before. The sticky rice in lotus leaf was the highlight; sticky rice, beef, scallops, carrots, and onions, wrapped up and steamed in a lotus leaf. It was also very subtle and complicated; so different and so much better than what I was expecting. Excellent! read more

From taste wise, it's okay. But if you are looking for a place with variety of Dim Sum, it wouldn't be here (not a lot of options to choose from with our taste buds). The staff is quick to clean up, however if you want water/tea refills, it's best not to because it took 3 attempts for us to get them refills. I also felt like we were getting less service because of not being their ethnicity (the service for other people were much faster) I would not go again & rather look for another Dim Sum place if I were you. read more

I came to Heji for dim sum and was thoroughly impressed. The service was friendly and attentive, and the dim sum dishes were all top quality--fresh and flavorful. Everything we ordered was delicious. I'd say this is probably the best dim sum in the area. I'll definitely be back to try the dinner menu. read more

Came here for Lunar New Year. They were out of basically the entire menu. The waiter was very uninterested and annoyed. Saw empty plates on the table and walked by it like he didn't see it. It took 30 minutes a dish a dish?! We had 5 dishes that's crazy work. We end paying and boxing our food that we actually got, and left with no plans on ever coming back! I'm going to have to double down on the bad reviews of this place. Yeah, I miss the OG Imperial Garden Dim Sum. It was authentic and still had ladies pushing carts. This new management place is NOOOT it, we too went during LNY and when I tell you every item we ordered that was steamed, came out severely overcooked and was quite literally dripping so much water, each bite was like biting into a water balloon, which made the food extremely bland, the only redeeming factor was the stuffed eggplant (we ordered 3) which was sooo good, my favorite stuffed eggplant in all of WA! The place was pretty dirty in terms of tables, like previously stated, servers just left messed and didn't clean, our server also seemed annoyed, for the food you get I'd say it's not worth the price...My brother mentioned how this place was primarily for weddings/bug events and I agree, it's very overstimulating... read more

Grew up going to imperial garden, so we were hoping it would be similar. Unfortunately that was not the case. We got there right at open, in the past it's been packed at open, however we were the only ones there so we were pumped for seating. Learned pretty soon that it's no longer the traditional dim sum on little carts and instead you order through a tablet. This would be fine if the tablets worked, we ordered our food within 10 minutes of sitting down and half the order came out in a timely manner. We then waiting for an hour before asking where the rest of our order was, apparently there was a disconnect in the system? I can see how in theory the tablets can be more efficient, but is this still the case when our quick breakfast ends up taking 2 hours? It also seemed like a lot of restaurant guests were coming and going in the back and kitchen. The food tasted good so there's no complaints on that end, just really disappointed with the service!! read more
