Today has me in some pretty good pain (pulled a really stubborn upper wisdom today), but that's to be expected, I think, when you've pulled a tooth and a chunk of bone comes with it. At one point, a newly hired office employee called me and asked if I still worked for [name of company] and it literally only shared a first letter with my company, even though I had given the office staff a copy of my insurance card with the company name on it. This employee told me this wasn't an uncommon error and that she had been hired in the wake of multiple firings from previous staff who made a lot of mistakes. I decided to go to another local dentist that can actually figure out how to bill insurance and not hire people so easily confused. Again, the actual dentists and hygienists are fine... and hopefully the front office staff is much better than it was circa 2015-ish.

The dental assistant who assisted Dr. Houston during the crown and filling was so personable and made me feel relaxed and comfortable. She even brought me a blanket to cover myself with because I was cold. Dr. Houston is very professional, highly educated and yet is warm and easy to talk to. He used 3D imaging for my crown, and man, it is a perfect fit! His office is clean and modern. I would highly recommend Dr. Houston to anyone looking for a dentist. I am so glad I found his office.

I just dropped in to price an implant and their cost was 1/2 the cost of the dental I had planned…read moreto use. I went in after my mouth had healed 8 months after having the root pulled where my tooth broke off in March. I set up an exam went in and was made an appointment to get my implant and a bone graft at the same time in 9 days from my first. I thought I would have to have the graft put in then wait to see if it took. The people are nice and helpful. Everyone is so friendly. I am now waiting to heal. In February I will be able to get my implant exposed and my crown put on. If all has healed well. No guarantees everyone is different in how they heal. Or accept or decline the implant. So far so good. The stitches after the implant healed very very well. Marina was impressed. Marina Michael is my dentist and she is so kind and gentle. I really appreciate her and her staff.

The Dr. Michael's came in to explain the days procedure, then installed an abutment without pain or discomfort. Then had X-rays taken to evaluate the bone grafts progress. Writing this review makes me sad because I have been a patient at Gentle Dental for nearly 15…read moreyears. Last year I went in for an exam but it had been a few years since my previous cleaning and my teeth were in rough shape. The dentist wanted to remove 7 of my teeth! I was shocked and declined the removal. Instead I sought out other alternatives. I had each quadrant of my mouth "scaled" - a deep cleaning procedure that I've had done before. Then I got a water pic and started to up my daily maintenance. When I went back for my 6 month exam this year I received high praise on how good my teeth were and nobody said a thing about those 7 teeth still needing to be removed. Thanks to MYSELF I managed to save and retain all of my teeth! Then, just recently I started experiencing some pain in my gums. It felt like one of my wisdom teeth was trying to grow sideways out of my gums. After a week it hadn't really gotten better so I scheduled a short appointment just to have it checked out. The hygienist took an x-ray and then the dentist came in. He took a quick look and told me that it's not infected, just a small cut in my gums most likely from eating something sharp. He said it's healing fine and I don't need antibiotics. He then shocked me when he said "I recommend removing the wisdom tooth." Then the next thing I knew he was numbing my gums and preparing a shot. That's when I freaked out!!! I was on my lunch break and told him I needed to get back to work. The hygienist said "oh that's fine, you can go back to work." These people clearly do not get to know their patients. First of all, I immediately started to sweat and shake and panic and felt light-headed. I had so many questions, and even if I did decide to have my tooth removed I would need anxiety medication beforehand, someone to accompany me AND to drive me home afterwards, pre-purchased foods at home to eat while my gums healed, and definitely time off from work! I'm also a smoker, so knowing that I wouldn't be able to smoke after having a tooth removed I would need to mentally prepare and plan ahead for that. These people are so quick to jump to "we need to remove your teeth!" Beware! They didn't give me any time to think, just react, and my reaction was to leave. Perhaps if they had sat down calmly and gave me some information to help me understand WHY they thought the tooth should come out then I could at least understand my options, but I was aghast when they didn't even give me any post-surgery instructions beforehand, what to expect, etc. They didn't even give me any time to register what was about to happen. If you have dental anxiety like I do I DO NOT recommend this place. I DO however recommend taking their advice with a grain of salt, stand up for yourself and don't let them pressure you into unnecessary tooth extractions!
