First time at this comedy club and I loved how close it was to our home. Ladies at the box office were friendly and efficient. We arrived an hour early, so had a cocktail in their lounge while we waited for the showroom doors to open. What I didn't like was the haphazard lines to get in. We got the couples package so our line was along the left wall, but for general admission, they had people line up on the right, but since there's a break, we saw entire groups cutting, which was not fair to people who lined up earlier. Inside the showroom, things were run pretty smoothly, and we liked how they had the servers greet us and take us to our table. We found the f&b prices fair and the drinks strong. All in all, it was an enjoyable date night, and we look forward to seeing more acts at this venue. read more

The show was great and she was hilarious. As always, she always pair her humor with learning opportunities. She is also going to highlight Sororities & Fraternities. Food: food was nice, fresh and served hot. I opted for the special which was the fish & chips. Seating: venue on the smaller side & packed. If you do not like to sit at tables with "strangers" this might not be the venue for you, unless you are a party of 4. Things get "personal" with seating lol, the place is tight even for walking! A good experience altogether with a few things lacking. The space was neat, pretty intimate, definitely feels like you're in a basement (which you are). Definitely overpriced drink and the 2-item minimum is confusing because I'm not quite sure how it's enforced. It also only counts in the showroom, not the bar beforehand. I found the pre-show instructions very overwhelming, so many rules and FAQs but still confusing somehow. Once there, staff was really nice and easy to work with. The seating is very close together but a good vibe overall. The sound system was lacking - it was difficult to hear some of the words/speech, it sounded very muffled to me. The location and set up of this comedy club is excellent. You can tell that it's a little older for sure. But let me begin my review by saying this place is extremely overpriced. Tickets, drinks, foods, fees, etc - so pricey. They are also behind the times because they had to manually type in the credit card number. The service was excellent. Everyone was kind and helpful. Security checked everyone to keep us safe and we had a waitress coming to check on us and take our order etc. The food was pretty good. We got a burger and then a rice bowl. The drinks were both cocktails off of the signature list, which were excellent as well. Overall, over priced and outdated but a good space with good food and drinks. read more

Went to see Earthquake. Sell out crowd. The opening comedian was pretty hilarious. Earthquake came on stage and was quite funny. The thing is...we were seated near the service door to the right of the stage (while facing the stage) and it was difficult to see him because there is an entrance to the stage that blocks some of the view. If the comedian stayed closer to the mic that was positioned closer to the end of the stage, the experience would have been better...us seated in that area couldn't see him a portion of the show. The service could be improved; it took a looong time to get our drinks and even longer to get water. If the set is sold out, then staff accordingly. Not sure if I would come again. The food was ok. My husband had chicken nuggets and I had Caesar salad (can't mess that up). read more

The comedy show on Friday ( March 13th) was funny and great. This review solely reflects the service at the venue. The box office was friendly and after a short wait in line to be seated in general admission our waitress did not come over as she should have. A nearby waitress noticed and must have informed our waitress that we had not been waited on. The opening act was almost over by time she stopped by. I ordered a mocktail and a glass bottled water. It was $19 for just this. A bit overpriced and overrated. She finally came back once at the last call asking if we wanted anything else. Had such a good time catching a show at the Helium Comedy Club. I think the venue was the perfect size. You would be very close to the stage and the performers. They do have a rule for a 2-item minimum order during the show but honestly you can do 1 food and 1 drink and the price is pretty reasonable. I enjoyed their food quite a bit. Got the chicken finger and fries and it was really good. Highly recommend you checking out a show here. Btw, something to note is that we made a mistake of parking in the mall garage and not outside the comedy club. The show would run past the mall closing time so you can't walk through the mall to get back to your parking spot. read more

The comedy was impeccable! The venue and service was terrible once again. Grabbed a drink in the lobby before the show. Was charged $20 even and then the couple we came with orders same 2 beers immediately after me, and only charged 16? In the showroom it is a 2 drink minimum, but our waitress only came by once after being seated for 30 minutes. Then didn't return until 10:15 for last call. The show ended at 10:30. The show wasn't even sold out, so she wasn't over worked, just failed to work her tables. Unfortunately this type of service has been common practice here for the last couple of years. Hopefully someone steps up and opens a venue in a better location, with a much stronger passion for the comedy scene and makes sure the patrons are taken care of and not taken advantage of!! read more

First time visiting Helium and it won't be my last! I saw Grace Omailey and she was great. The club is inside the Galleria Mall but there is a separate entrance you can access from outside. You get your tickets at will call at the front and then go down the stairs to the show. The waiting area has lots of tables and a bar, it was sort of hectic for us so we stood in line to get in right away. I was surprised how organized everything was. The drink menu was decent but on the higher end. There is a 2 item min per person so be prepared for that. I was not hungry or thirsty when I went but shared an app with the table and got a drink. Be ware! We got the coupes VIP SPECIAL which was supposed to include everything including all fees and gratuities. The Show with Tisha Campbell was fantastic and personable. The issues came with the waiter who was not immediately available. He came to the table, explained the voucher and stated tips were not included and to feel free to leave on the table if we'd like after the show. This sounded very strange especially after the purchase said all fees included with the $90 voucher. We finally ordered two glasses of wine each for a total of $48 and two chicken strips for a total of $26 for a grand total of $74. He then says he was goin to the manager to approve the bill to see if he would approve the bill because it was $15 over the voucher and since it was VIP, they sometimes will approve. I questioned the bill because in my math, we were under by $16. He showed me the total on his lil pad and it said $105. I told him it was not adding up and he stated the tax and administrative fees were added in. I questioned the fees and explained from my understanding, all fees were inclusive and sled to explain what the fees were for. I then asked for a manager, which never came to the table. By this time, everyone is heading out the exit making way for the meet and greet. So, my date and I are discussing if we should leave a tip on the table just in case he was correct and we did not just not want him to get anything. Strangely enough, while we were talking, he was standing behind us listening and watching because other workers were cleaning off all of the tables and he was only looking to see if we were going to put any money down. I asked for a receipt and he stated he unable to give receipts which was another red flag. Against our better judgement, we did give him a few dollars to ensure he received some compensation. The food was subpar. My strips had a burnt grease taste and only a few fries but my date says hers was fine and had a ton of fries. If it wasn't for the charging fiasco, the event could have been a nice evening out. Theses type of venue workers are known for over charging and adding extra items to your bill, then rush you to pay at the end of the evening hoping you won't notice because they are acting as though they are so busy and have other customers to get to. I am going to follow up with the venue just to file a complaint and to satisfy my curiosity it's sad you can't enjoy your evening without being ripped off by thieving staff members with the bait,switch and rush ploy. We purchased all inclusive tickets for Saturdays show with Derik Cahill. The all inclusive package is a SCAM. We had $90 to spend on food and drinks. Waitress only came over one time. When we asked to see our tab she refused. Told us she did last call. It was only 40 minutes into the show. Everyone else was still getting served Except the all inclusive ticket holders. The manager of the club was not helpful, he allowed the waitress to yell and be rude while I tried to talk with manager about service. Two of us attended the comedy show last night (4/20/26). The show was fantastic and will try to attend another Stone Cold and the Jackal at a different venue. I will be willing to drive an extra 1-2 hours longer to go to avoid Helium. The Helium was so disorganized with getting people in to their seats, etc. The doors opened late and everyone had to stand in line for 1.5 HOURS because there are NO seat assignments other than by Platnum, VIP or general admission tickets. There is a 2 item minimum purchase per person in the showroom. I would say that the staff and security showing people to their seats were very nice and friendly, and the servers were very good. The whole seating system needs to be rethought by management and updated so that when people arrive early enough to be first in line to get in, THEY DO GET IN FIRST! read more

Filled out the reservation form, asking for a 5:30 reservation for 3 people before the Friday show. Didn't hear anything back for weeks, even called the comedy club to find out what was going on. Was told that I would get a confirmation the day of. TWO HOURS BEFORE MY GROUP WAS MEETING UP, RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING EMAIL: Elements pre-show dining is not being offered for the show you have requested. There will be food and beverage specials served directly from the bar before the performance, as well as to your table inside the showroom throughout the performance. FUCK THIS PLACE. We had to scramble around to find a restaurant for reservations so we could make our show. Never again. read more

This place is extremely under hyped and the staff is super professional. If you are in St Louis just stop by for a fun night because the shows are relatively short and ALWAYS hilarious. LISTEN UP because you have a two item minimum, that makes the staff get a 18% gratuity tip so you DO NOT have to tip at the end of the meal. You still can tip but it's not mandatory. I've been here before and made many of mistakes but the staff is super helpful with all that and they truly make the show flow nicely so you don't have to worry about anything other than the performer. Comedy was great. The box office staff had bad customer service and acted like they didn't want to be there. The wait staff was absolutely awful. No service, never at our table and wanted to enforce two drink minimum but was never around to take our order. During the show a security staff member stood in front of our section blocking our views which was annoying. This place needs a good manager to set everyone straight! So the actual show we saw was phenomenal. Our experience of the venue was so-so. It was our first time here, so we decided to eat at the venue restaurant. The benefit to that is that if you show up early and dine there, you get reserved seating for the showroom. That's about the only upside. The actual restaurant has an extremely limited menu. We decided to go for the appetizer sampler to start, which was fine. Nothing you couldn't get from the freezer section at the grocery store (and taste-wise it's the same experience). We wanted to order actual entrees, too, but our server never reappeared after grabbing our app/drink order. It's not like they were busy, there was only one other occupied table, and she took their order first. After almost finishing our sampler (delivered by someone other than our server), we pretty much gave up on ordering more food, and were already making plans to get something else after the show. At least our server stamped our tickets, showing us as reaching our two item minimum (we were concerned we'd have to buy more in the showroom, and thankfully we didn't). The chairs are also terribly uncomfortable. I was so sore from sitting there. We might come back for a show, but we definitely won't be dining at the club. We'll figure something else out. read more

Saw Zoltan Kaszas and he brought the house down and will continue to come here to see any comedians I like. With that said, the food is awful. Not inedible, just awful. My wife and I had burgers that were clearly mass produced patties with fries that were not salted and likely frozen. It wouldn't take much to overhaul the kitchen and actually produce easy to make food with quality ingredients. It is like there is no pride in the food part of the business. If this wasn't a place to see hilarious comedians, I'd ignore it and never give it a second thought. Go, laugh, buy drinks. My daughter and l attended the TIP show on Jan 31, 2025. I couldn't picture a rapper turned comedian but he was beyond funny. He was amazing with the use of clear dialog and elevated vocabulary my daughter & I were rolling with laughter as was everybody. He flowed effortlessly from subject to subject as he read his audiences facial expressions he explained words or phrases. We went to see the hilarious Josh Johnson today! It was our first time at Helium, and overall we had a great time. The club area is fairly small- giving an "intimate but not squished" vibe. The servers came out and took orders- there is a "two item minimum" per person, but it can be a combo of food or drinks. I was hungry, but the wildly uncreative menu was a sad offering of basic fried bar food and sandwiches. To be honest, the menu read like "we keep this all pre-made and frozen." We ended up deciding on appetizers and drinks- mozzarella sticks, pretzel bites, a "Sunset" cocktail for me and a "Sour Gummy Bear" cocktail for my husband. The server took our orders- and they were "out" of the Sunset cocktail, so I got a Hurricane instead. Then they were also out of pretzel bites, so we got a basket of fries. The place was sold out, so food and drinks took a while. The Hurricane was meh- tasted like it was mostly cheap rum with a little juice, and it wasn't a generously-sized cocktail for $13. The "Sour Gummy Bear," on the other hand, was really tasty! The fries and mozzarella sticks were good enough, but... I feel like Helium is phoning it in here. GET CREATIVE! The food is overpriced for the quality, and honestly? If the food had been great- I'd come back often, no question. As it is, I'll definitely be back- but I'll eat beforehand and stick to drinks at the club. I visited the Helium Comedy Club for Tony Baker's first visit to St. Louis. He and his comedian friends were hilarious and made us laugh until our faces and stomachs hurt. The venue is really nice, but the tables are tiny. Especially since there's a 2 item minimum. They pack either 2 or 4 persons around the same sized tiny table and expect us to drink and eat without spilling anything. It was a bit uncomfortable but the laughs made up for the squeeze. Pros, Cons and Tips Pros: *Our waitress in the showroom was very nice and extremely busy(which I suppose was a con) *The brownie in the brownie sundae was delicious. It had big chunks of chocolate chips in it. *The actual show, we saw Don McMillan, was good. My husband really enjoyed it. I didn't understand some of the jokes because they were all nerd jokes. Con's: *Fees, fees, fees. Ridiculous fees. You buy your tickets through their Helium club website. We opted for VIP seating which was $10 a ticket more. Tickets alone was $74 for two, then the normal tax added and a $12 service charge. Came out over $93. I do not understand the $12 service charge as there's no other way to purchase them. You can't go purchase them at the box office unless you do it that day right before the show. You're doing it on their own website it's not like it's Ticketmaster, where they would charge a fee. *Anything that you purchase at the bar ahead of time or in the show has an automatic 18% Administration Fee. I feel like they should change that to say gratuity fee. They actually send you an email before you come that explains that administration fee has been added to all of your checks and leaving gratuity is no longer necessary as they make sure to pay their employees well above minimum wage. Our bartender and our waitress told us that they don't see any of the 18% administration fee and it is not their gratuity. So I'm totally fine paying the 18% because I would normally tip 20% but when they want 18% administration fee and then still tip 20% is a little bit ridiculous. Call it a gratuity fee and give it to your employees. * The coffee was absolutely horrible. I typically would not order coffee at a comedy club, but it was on the menu and I was getting a brownie sundae and thought it sounded good with it. It was snowing outside, so I didn't want to drink a lot of alcohol as I didn't know what the roads would be like for the drive home. The coffee was the worst tasting thing I ever tasted in my life. I have no idea what they did to it, but it was absolutely horrendous *There is a two item minimum purchase per person required for the show. You could have drinks or food, but it had to be two items. I'm OK with that. When we got there, they told us to go ahead and have a seat at the bar and a drink, because we were a little early and couldn't get in yet. I asked the gentleman they had told us that if the drink in the bar counts for the drink in the showroom and he said absolutely. We went up to the bartender and I asked the bartender if we ordered drinks now do these count as drinks for our two item minimum in The showroom he said yes they do. So we ordered drinks and paid for them and I asked him for a receipt or how I show them that in the showroom and he said that they don't count. He had just told me that they did! Again normally it wouldn't have mattered because I would've had a few drinks, but due to the weather outside, I did not want to drink much. *The waitress never came back to get my husband a second drink, but definitely charged us for it when it came time to pay when the show was over. Also, of course charged us for the disgusting coffee. *You have to leave the showroom for the restroom so make sure to go before the show starts Tips: *If you don't think you want to drink a lot for the evening just have dinner in the showroom. It's nothing fancy, but you will quickly get your two item minimum. *Don't pay the extra $10 for VIP seating. It's not that much better. Definitely not worth it. Just arrive early to claim your tickets and you will get in Group a and get decent seating. *If you are going on a Friday or Saturday night, make reservations at their restaurant Elements. By doing this, it will automatically upgrade you to VIP seating, and they reserve a table for you. Reservations are required and you can do that online. Per the Q&A page of the website: food and drinks purchased along with a pre-show reservation count towards the two-item minimum! *If you don't want to drink a lot of alcohol, get the brownie sundae as one of your items read more
