Jazz St. Louis is a lovely environment to listen to Jazz. I would recommend going a little earlier before the show to order a meal or appetizer. The food selections assist with making an all around date night experience. Every staff role I have ever encountered over the years have been nice and happy to be there. The talent that Jazz St. Louis brings in is a reason in itself to go. Thanks for being in midtown.

If you are a lover of jazz and fantastic food, you should've been here already! Everything about the Jazz St. Louis experience was wonderful. The service, the atmosphere, the music made me feel like such a grown up. Perfect for date nughts.

I love Jazz STL! I visit here at least 6-8 times per year and I am never disappointed. I love the fact that they switch up the menu quite a bit and I love the free summer series that they have during the summer months! it is nothing better than live music in an intimate venues such as this! I literally have gotten tickets right at the stage which is so fun to be that close to the performers. I love their community work that they do and love what they stand for as a non-profit organization. Keep up the fabulousness Jazz STL team!

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at Jazz St. Louis. I was able to personally witness opening week for an old friend who's now the creative advisor for JSL. For starters we had balcony seats with the perfect view. I love all the acoustic paneling on the wall, pretty and functional. I ordered dinner and dessert because why not? I got the salmon which was cooked to perfection, a perfect medium. For dessert I had the house brownie and that was definitely a treat. As far as the music, I had no idea Keyon could sing in addition to playing his world famous trumpet! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the program and I look forward to many more evenings at JSL.

Very classy atmosphere, we had a girls night out here. They have a limited menu, this gumbo was surprisingly good. The ambiance is grown and sexy. I would say the age range is 40 and up. The service is good also. Very professional

Absolutely incredible, 10/10, wow! I've been wanting to come here for the longest time as the St. Louis Jazz culture is so evident. I'm honestly a little surprised people don't talk about this place more because I think it was one of my favorite experiences in St. Louis, by far. I came to watch Keyon Harrold and his band who are all absolutely legends alongside Kenneth Whalum. Let me tell you the most amazing parts of the night: - For one student tickets are only $10 which is wild with a $2.50 processing fee. The show typically called for like $40+ per ticket so you save an incredible amount of money with a student ID. Also you can just call them online about it, you don't have to visit their box office in person. - We watched the 7:30 show, and I guess they wanted to encourage more people to stay for the second set so the theater offered free tickets from everyone from the first set to come tot he second set, so we gladly took them. I'm so glad that we did because even though the songs were the same, the middle improvisations part was incredible. - The venue is so intimate as there aren't a lot of seatings and you can really feel connected with the artists. - Keyon Harrold!!! Oh my gosh. His band absolutely killed it and blew everyone away. The way he was able to hold the room with his trumpet was mesmerizing and the guy who was playing the keys for him was amazing. I appreciate the improvisations so much as you could see each musicians shine and everyone else supporting them. It was so impressive they way they were able to sit so in the pocket of the music with the ever-changing rhythms. Honestly could not recommend seeing his show more, because even though the two sets started with the same songs, the middle bits were completely different which made everything so much more interesting. - Kenneth Whalum's "One More Kiss" is officially my new favorite song. Wow. The way he sang it, man was serenading us! And then they did some improvisations and no matter how wild it got, they always brought it back to the chorus of the song. Incredible! - I appreciate that Keyon Harrold asked everyone to stand up and dance at the end, it really felt like such a great community. - The vibes were amazing. Everyone there was so supportive, I absolutely loved it. Okay, clearly this is my new favorite St. Louis experience. Can't wait to come back again to listen to more new and amazing artists although I have to say that Keyon Harrold is a hard one to beat.

This is a gem of a venue. It's fairly intimate and has tables downstairs and a nice viewing balcony upstairs with counter-like seating. I doubt there's a bad seat in the house. I sat upstairs and the view and acoustics were great. Ticket prices seem very reasonable. I thoroughly enjoyed the jazz ensemble performance; all the musicians were great. It was a fun and entertaining evening! I went by myself (on a weekday evening) and felt very welcomed by both the staff and patrons. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. I went with the server-recommended red and it went great with my tasty rigatoni pasta dish. Even though they were short-staffed (the manager had to step in as a server for the night), once I was seated the service was excellent.

For some, you will read this and know exactly what I experienced, for some you may have wanted to go but just haven't yet and for those like me prior, I had no idea it was even here. I was invited by and friend and Uber to the location. When you walk in you have the little bistro to the right and the venue to the left. I went to the bistro and grabbed a drink before the performance started. The venue is small and personal so it didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house. We were center stage and the band performing is absolutely fantastic. Great music, good entertainers and a perfect venue for an outing with friend, family or a date. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing, it is a great little spot to chill and be transported back in time. Regina Carter's performance was breathtaking. We arrived around 615p, the doors open at 6p for the 730p show. There is balcony seating on the second level which can be reached by stairs or elevator. The first floor has tables and booths surrounding the stage. They have a simple menu packed with flavor. On this night the special of the night was a lobster roll on a brioche bun with poblanos. I ordered the shrimp & grits and parmesan truffle fries. The beer and Bourbon list is pretty nice as well. There is a glass bottle of water for every 2 seats. All seating is white leather, so when the lights are turned down during the performance it doesnt seem so dark. If you attend the first show you have the option to stay for the second one. The staff will find you a seat. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be returning soon.

If you are going to see a 7:30 PM jazz set here, they make it really convenient to have dinner before hand. It's also the only way you are going to eat here. They don't take walk-ins or others that aren't going to the show. That said, they do a pretty good job with the food. It's a small menu, but that's fine. It makes it easier to decide what to get. We started with deviled eggs. Not a bad choice. Fairly standard, and that you get what you expect. The wife and I both picked the same entrée, which was saucy Mediterranean rice. It's a vegetarian dish, and they told us that they now use jackfruit instead of tofu. That's probably an improvement. The jackfruit was very dense and meaty, and did a good job soaking up the flavor. And there was a lot of flavor in the tomato-based sauce with a good deal of spices, and not for heat. Surprisingly, they had about a half dozen choices for the desserts. What we had was pretty good, but even at about nine dollars each they were definitely too small to want to share, so you each have to get your own. The caramel corn choice, had a lot of chocolate dipped pretzels, mini marshmallows, and Spanish peanuts, to add variety. However I thought there could have been more actual caramel on the corn. My sweet potato gooey butter cake sounded odd, but it actually was really good. I'm not sure how they made it, but the sweet potato seemed to reduce what could have been an overly sweet dish. A table mate got bananas Foster which also looked pretty good. However it wasn't lit on fire as I had expected.

She's from New Orleans and brings a NOLA menu that's as good....if not better, then anything we've had in the Quarter. Then, it was fun trading music stories with the owner, John. Overall, the best brunch we've been to in a long time!! Now.... let's talk food: - The pulled pork tamales are the best I've ever had. The pork was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. then it was covered with great chili, two over medium eggs, 1/2 sliced avocado, and chopped onions. I was in heaven. The biscuits/gravy was good, but the sample of their red beans and a sample of gumbo.... was better then I've ever had....anywhere! And then their was the beignets. Again...better then Cafe Dumonds! Review: March 11th, 2026…read more I was on a mission to find a music event to attend to ON the NIGHT of my birthday which was March 11th. I came across Blue Strawberry during my search and decided to book. I didn't care if I would have to attend solo being that it was midweek and I didn't confirm with my friends. The Venue: I had a hard time locating the building, especially since it was night and I've never been there. Parking is on the street. I parked a block or two away and walked. Once I found the building, I tried to open the door, well it didn't open. That's when I realized that it was closed. I was like, I know they didn't lock the door after the event started. I then saw a buzzer so I decided to press it, hoping that it wouldn't interrupt, but alert the staff...After a minute or so, I noticed a paper sign stating to "use other door"...but which? The door adjacent it was for another business. I then locate the correct one around the side. Wallah! Once inside: the hostess checked me in. Her tablet decided to lock and she had to ask an older guy for the password (seem as though he might have been the owner or manager, he didn't look very pleasant nor welcoming). Anyways on to my seat to enjoy the show which already had started. The venue is very small, with low lighting in the audience and lighting focused on the proformers. Black tablets with seatings for two or four were throughout with one table for larger group. I suppose they can rearrange to accommodate.I was offered to sit anywhere as this event was very low turned out. The Attendees: The event attendees were mostly LGBTQIA folks, maybe due to the area or maybe the entertainer followers, either way I didn't care. I was out for a good time & I love, love regardless. Requirements: Venue has a minimum of $15 spending per person. I noticed most attendees opted for a drink. The larger party ordered food. I decided to skip on the food. I had the St Louis Swing to sip on. It was perfect. Larger than I expected! Overall: Great for small intimate events, especially locals or non "mainstream." Great views regarless of seating, and inexpensive! Honestly, I am not sure If I'll visit again although I enjoyed the event, nothing really stood out about the place or it's hospitality.

You will notice how special it is when you walk in and are greeted warmly, shown to your table and enjoy the vibe. The first three rows of tables the music can be rather loud, so if you feel like that would be an issue sit further back or towards the bar. While most of the focus is on the talent that they host, the food is absolutely incredible here. We got there early to enjoy a peaceful dinner before the show. My favorite item on the menu is the brussels sprouts appetizer. No one makes them like this. My dining companion ordered the chicken Kiev served with seasonal vegetables (squash with grilled pepper strips and onions), and roasted potatoes. I ordered the beet salad with an incredible horseradish dressing. I normally would never choose that, but the flavors complimented each other so well, and the horseradish dressing was not overpowering. Rather it balanced the sweetness of the roasted beets and the dried cranberries. We decided to get the chocolate cake for dessert, which is plenty for two people. It's so decadent and rich that we couldn't even finish it. They have a rather large cocktail menu and wine list. There's also beer and soft drinks available. Please note during shows there is a $15 minimum food/drink order person. The service is excellent! I highly recommend our server, Arissa (sp?), who took great care of us all night. There is street parking available so if you're disabled get there early to get a close spot. They have two unisex bathrooms with locks that don't always quite work though.

The old lady bar tender on inside bar took two extra dollars from me (I guess thinking I wasn't gonna tip? ) despite me leaving three on the bar and me pointing it out to her. Then a very very large brown haired curly bearded man completely ignored me at the bar, at like 4pm it was me standing directly in front of the bar by myself while he had co convos and gave bar backs shots. I couldn't have made this up.. I couldn't think of anything to even say to address that wasnt not kind or out of pocket so I left. It was an unreal experience and from what I've heard about management just from patrons there they wouldn't care anyway, it was alienating and gross behavior.
