I came here twice! Once when they had their soft opening (I think they've only been open like a week) and then again recently. Their boba is pretty good. I had a couple different drinks and they were great. The customer service here was good as well. I believe it was the owner who served me last time, but just wanted to say thanks for opening a legit boba shop inside the loop! Now I don't have to drive to Chinatown for my boba fix! I love a good Coffee Foam Tea and this might just be the best I've had. Theirs had a hit of smokiness to make an unusually rich and complex flavor to this usually-basic classic that was delightful. The texture of the milk foam, the taste and freshness of the coffee, and just everything about it was perfect. My girlfriend was similarly impressed by her selection. This is by far the best bubble tea I've ever had in my life. They use brown sugar in their tapioca which gives it a nice caramel taste and it distinguishes it from other bubble tea places. Got the hella bubble milk tea with 50% sugar and regular ice 4 days in a row it was about $5 for their bubble tea which is pretty normal for bubble tea. I also love how their staff gives out samples of their tea/drinks! I'm from New York and it tops Boba Guys, CoCo, Gongcha (our Local Bubble tea stores) by far imo. Man I have been on a great streak with finding new boba places because Hella Bubble is amazing. I was definitely skeptical at first, as I am with all bougie boba tea places but the samples that I got when I first entered let me know that I was in a good spot. We ordered the original milk tea with boba with milk foam, and the tea taste was everything that I wanted it to be. Boba is warm at first but eventually cools with ice, and it's the perfect consistency and texture. Milk foam was delicious as well. I moved from Cali and have been on a hunt for a good boba spot in Texas. It took us 5 months to finally find this boba spot. The customer service was excellent! He was so friendly and asked us if it was our first time, he went through the most popular drinks and OMG, so glad that he did! I picked the kiwi fruit tea made with fresh kiwi jam with kiwi bits and aloe, it was not too sweet and not too bland, it was PERFECT! We also ordered the matcha latte with boba and the boba was good consistency, not too hard but not too soft. We also ordered the fresh taro smoothie and it was so GOOD, that has got to be my favorite drink out of the 3, because it was made ALL FRESH, that's really rare for a boba spot, usually if they say fresh they still put some type of artificial flavoring, but not at HELLA BUBBLES! This is probably the best boba tea in houston. I was worried that this place would be really expensive because it is in highland village, but the tea wasn't too expensive. I got the hella bubble milk tea, which was just black milk tea with boba. The drinks took kind of a long time to come out but it was fine. My first reaction when I tried the tea was kind of like woah this is different. Like I was not expecting the tea to taste like that. I mean even thought the tea tasted different, it was actually really good. I think it tasted different cause the flavor was really strong and almost coffee-like. I would recommend getting the tea a little but less sweet cause I got it 80% sweet and I think if it tasted any sweeter it would have been inedible. The boba was a good texture. It was soft but not too soft to where it's falling apart. The boba wasn't very sweet though. Overall, I think this will be the place I go to when I want boba. Hella Bubble is a great place to get your boba fix. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and given a sample of their Wintermelon tea (super good but a little too sweet for my taste). They explained their signature drinks to me, since it was my first time. They actually have really awesome art-sy posters of their signature drinks on their walls. I decided to try the Kiwi Fruit drink, which had aloe. It was really good! Best of all, it was not made with powder and din't taste artificial. As a matter of fact, I noticed that everything is fresh-made in-house, and it seemed that no powders were used. The price is pretty much on par with competitors', but I would much rather drive the extra 5-10 mins from my usual spot to get fresh tea here. Hella Bubble is also a great place to study or hang out with friends. The space is comfy and homey. They've got big tables and small tables, so it's great if you are studying in a group or alone. The music is a little on the loud side, but I didn't mind because they were playing some great bops! I almost asked if they had a Spotify playlist I could follow, haha. It's tucked away in a small center in Uptown, away from the busy Westheimer. Parking may be a hassle during busy times, as they only have two (or three?) spots reserved for their customers. Milk foam: As far as I know, this place is the only option for milk foam within the loop, so even though I think Tea Top has a far superior milk foam, I appreciate the convenience of it. Tea: I think the quality of tea is better at Teapresso however, which is in the loop. Boba: The boba was a little too soft for my liking, because I like a little chewiness, but my boyfriend likes it soft so it's a preference. Plastic cup: The cups are a nicer quality plastic with an interesting lid with different types of holes. When I asked why, the employee said oh they changed them prices, but they didn't change prices on the menu. IM ADDICTED. When you first walk in, the staff immediately offers a drink sample. If you bring a small child, they have tiny ice cream cones for them, so this place is both kid and dog friendly. I really do think that their black milk tea is authentic and phenomenal. It's not watered down or too powdery. Additionally, their tapioca is perfect; it's soaked in brown sugar, so it's soft and melts in your mouth (great consistency). They also have interesting menu choices in case you ever get bored of their classics. The setting is minimalist and a great place to study.
