Had a few seating area with outlets which is great if you're planning to stay there to study/do work. I was looking at the menu intensely and the girl taking the order just stood there staring at me. Made me kinda feel uncomfortable and rushed. There wasn't anyone behind me btw. She was nice though, and made me a peach oolong tea (wasn't on the menu). Unfortunately, it tasted very watered down. I got it 100% sweet and it wasn't very sweet. It tasted good, just very watered down so it barely had much flavor. I also got their brown sugar milk tea with 75% sugar and light boba. It's a must every time I try a new boba spot. The presentation was nice but again, I was disappointed in the drink. The boba was chewy but not in a super soft chewy way. The drink's sweetness was good, I could've gotten 50% to be honest. The tea flavor just wasn't hitting. It also tasted a bit watered down. read more

We used to have a Teapresso Bar in the Heights that opened in May 2018, and we went consistently from the beginning. It was easily the best boba shop in the area, so I was genuinely sad when that location closed. Teapresso Bar was founded in 2014 in Hawaii by Steve Nguyen, starting in downtown Honolulu and growing across the islands as a healthier alternative in the coffee and milk tea market. The Houston locations opened in 2018, and the brand emphasizes community, sustainability, and quality ingredients. Each drink is served in compostable cups and straws, and they're known for being gathering spots with board games and WiFi available. We were in East Downtown on a Saturday morning and were excited to see a Teapresso location at 2929 Navigation Blvd. They have a private parking lot shared with neighboring businesses, which makes it easy. Nut allergy friendly! Overall, a reasonable boba option in the area. I sampled their brown sugar milk tea at 50% sweetness and thought it was too sweet. I've been to the former Teapresso spot in the Heights so it was interesting to see another location here in the revamped east end area. Unfortunately, Teapresso still feels a bit behind the boba pack in terms of quality of the milk tea and the boba texture. I got the strawberry milk tea and it was as par as you can get. The boba was also quite mushy and lacked Q. Service was great but their menu is huge but lacks some finesse. It's good to have a boba spot for the area, but compared to other spots in the general region, the milk tea is a miss for me. read more

Several locations in Honolulu. New location has opened up in Sugar Land, which is not even close to the level of this one in my opinion. We tried the other version of this (TeaLatte in Dallas and I liked it but Barbi hated it. This particular location - I liked it even more and Barbie actually liked it. So I think it's clear between the two of us which is more enjoyable location. The Dallas one smells very strongly of tea, although Barbi thinks it smelled so bad it could not have been tea. This one doesn't smell at all - it's just nice. We will definitely be coming back in the future to try different things, but do bear in mind that for the purist this is definitely along the lines of somewhat Americanized (or Hawaiianized) Boba rather than a Taiwanese original. But then so is Boba Guys and that's amazing and that's actually what some of the milk teas here remind me of. I don't think the owners are related to the former owners of the now-shut-down Heights location, who sent me aggressive and abusive messages for reporting that an employee had told me during purchase that they did not receive their tips (the owners were taking them) and I should not tip. That is not the case - at all - at this location. They've been nothing but wonderful, and I've checked with employees here, and they get the tips, which is good to know. Very well worth a try. I wonder if one will open up in Bellaire Chinatown at some point. Finally got a chance to come to the new location! The staff here are friendly and helpful in helping you select your drink and making sure your order is correct. DRINKS/BOBA The drinks are amazing and top-quality as always. The boba is fresh, chewy and sweet. Drinks are customizable in terms of ice and sugar level. The teas are freshly brewed on the spot as they use the Teapresso machine (think about it as an espresso machine but solely for teas).  Make sure to shake your drink once you get it! Note when you order no ice, the drink isn't filled all the way up. ENVIRONMENT/STUDY Although smaller than the Heights location, this is perfect place to study during the week. It is not too busy/crowded to get distracted. All of the tables have a 2-plug outlet underneath the seats. The wifi (TeaPresso Bar Guest) password is located at the front where you order, and the connection is always fast and steady. On a side note: they also offer select pastries. I don't know if they are just getting cheap/ bad beans, not making it fresh, need to spring clean their equipment, or all 3, but it's 10x more bitter than hot coffee I brew @ home. Cookies and boba tea are solid and most of the staff are extremely friendly. The decor is simple, clean and modern. Driving: lots of parking and the area is easy to get around with not much traffic. Biking: they need some bike racks in this shopping strip. Maybe you can find a spot to lock your bike at the nearby Roostar. read more
