This place is amazing no wonder they got Houston chronicles 2020 best boba award! They did not disappoint. I ordered the fresh Taro smoothie which tasted delicious and very fresh. The place was very clean and they had amazing customer service, as soon as we walked in we were greeted and felt welcomed. My son got some nice stickers for Halloween, such a nice gesture. Was shopping at the Galleria and wanted to try a new boba shop, so I found this place randomly on Yelp. I am happy that Yelp has brought me to a very neat and cute shop though. The plaza parking availability can be tight, beause there are other food spots popping off there too. Entering the shop, I love the decor and vibe. It's a quiet and chill hangout/study/date spot for sure. The staffs are welcoming and has a lot of drink options. I ordered my always go-to fruit tea, so did my bf too. My tea was refreshing and not so sweet, I like how the tea flavor is subtly sweet, but I guess because I ordered their lowest sweetness so I couldn't really taste the passionfruit. Would recommend maybe stay normal sweet (from others' reviews they say the drinks here are normally not too sweet already) or half sweet; or else you could feel like just drinking plain tea. Easy to read with many choices and options. I decided to go with their green tea with milk foam, boba, reg ice, and 80% sugar level. There was a bit of a wait due to the amount of customers with only two workers. Once the drink was finished it was brought to my table and the employee apologized for the wait. The beverage came in the cutest cup! So I took off the top to inspect my drink before I sipped. Yo YELP!!!! That first sip!!! DIVINE!!!!!!! The milk foam was EVERYTHING!!!! It was our first visit here and we were immediately greeted as we entered the doors. We were offered sample of the Jasmine Green milk tea which I thought was tasty! I immediately went ahead and ordered that with baby pearls. My niece ordered the same with regular pearls, and my sister ordered without the pearls. The balloons took over the floor, which was near a seated booth by the register... overall kinda awkward with a large group. The wait was fairly long with about 4-5 people making drinks. We did not think it was that busy, but it took a good 10 minutes for the drinks to come out. Overall, we thought the drinks were decent, though it was fairly pricey for what it was. My Jasmine Green milk tea with baby pearls was almost $5... The baby pearls were much more softer than what I imagined it to be, and the regular pearls were super chewy with a bite in the center. On my first visit to Hella Bubble I was greeted with a bright smile and I was offered a sample of the tea of the day, which was the mango green tea. Very good! I decided to go with the mango green tea milk foam. The milk foam was a great addition, along with boba of course! Later that week I saw where they would be having their grand opening day, I made sure to stop by. All drinks were 50% off! That day I chose to order the match green tea milk foam. It was good. I enjoy an authentic matcha tea and not the powdered version like I've had at Starbucks. So I was very pleased with their matcha tea. This is my go to boba spot in Houston! I don't know if they've put crack in their tapioca but omg it's so yummy and addicting. For the last 2 years I've been ordering milk tea from other place without boba because I just would prefer the drink by itself but this is the only place that tempts me to get boba with the drink. I usually get their hella bubble milk tea which is their signature drink and you can adjust sugar level the way you want. Great little boba place near the Galleria area. A coworker and I stopped by right around lunch time and we were greeted immediately. We had a large order, nine drinks, and the staff was so great about it. Of course it took a little bit of time to get our drinks so we sat down and played a few rounds of cards. Great boba spot that is really quick and doesn't generally have a line from what I've heard. This was my first time in the shop, so they asked me whether I had been there and when I said no they very kindly explained everything to me and which flavors were their most popular. Cute little boba shop! But I think there could be improvement in service and quality of boba, ESPECIALLY being in River Oaks. My review will be focusing on their Wintermelon Milk Tea with 80% sugar. Like many boba shops, Wintermelon Milk Tea can be very sweet, so I think it's very appropriate to reduce the sugar content, unless you have a big sugar tooth, so that it is reasonable for your palette and of course for health reasons (I know, I know, if I am such a health freak, why am getting boba?)! Because it's a guilty pleasure! Anyways, I think their Wintermelon Milk Tea is DELICIOUS and definitely one of the better ones I've had... and I've been to many shops. As for the boba itself, it is very soft to the point where it kind of just disintegrates a bit after a chew or 2, so definitely over cooked in my book(happened on multiple occasions). I was caught VERY off guard when this happened because boba should be nice and chewy, like gum. As for the service, I can sometimes be indecisive because I may want to branch out of my usual. There have been a few times I came in where I was obviously not sure what I wanted. The workers just stared at me or waited for me to make a decision without even providing any input on what they like or what is popular. I would make small comments to spark a small conversation, but nothing, which kind of gave me a sour taste. Where's the enthusiasm? Where's the customer service? They seemed miserable. They were just there to get their hours and collect their paychecks. So I am very surprised with the 4.5 average reviews. Interestingly, the website states that they want to provide "high quality drinks in a comfortable and friendly environment", which they definitely lack thereof in the latter.
