Saw Hellenic Republic on Triple D and didn't know how close it was to me to try out. There is no interior seating and with limited outside seating, be prepared to wait till a table open or might just be lucky like we were. Do not sit yourself either as there are many signs stating to check in for a table. There is live music that can get a little loud when it comes to ordering but it is nice to listen to well you wait for your orders. Our table started off with an order of Tirokafteri Dip w/ Pita and Greek Fries. The dip wasn't overly spicy and had a good combination of feta that complemented the spicy. The Greek Fries were tossed a seasoned oil and topped with big chucks of feta. The overall flavors in each bite made these fries addicting. The Loukaniko Bowl w/ Sautéed Vegetable was tasty with every bite. The House Gyro Pita is my mom's favorite but always order a side of tzatziki sauce to add in more flavors. When the Chicken and Waffle plate arrived to the table, it was huge and I already knew I was packaging most of it to-go. The chicken tenders were well breaded and moist in the middle. The waffles with the powers sugar tasted homemade. The spicy syrup on the side does have a kick to it, so I do recommend testing it before pouring it all over everything. Use to go to Hellenic on University great experience. Went 1/23 to new location on Atlantic Blvd. D - experience. We waited extremely long time for order to arrive, either the a/c was broken or the air is not sufficient to cool the large area, both front door and back door open. Many employees standing around not doing anything. Food finally arrived fish chewy, lamb very salty. I wish them well. I'll give them 6 months and try again but I think they over expanded and hope they get it fi xed. read more

We went last night with my husband and kids. I got the bowl which was absolutely delicious and my kid's devoured the chicken tenders and sauce. My husband ordered a sandwich with no grilled onions however when it came out , it had the onions, so he sent it back and kindly asked to have it taken off the bill. The waitress was extremely apologetic and explained how they are training in the kitchen and she came and brought him a bowl of chicken and rice soup. Then they even remade his sandwich to take home. He insisted it wasn't necessary, but they were overly kind in trying to give him a meal as well. The staff here is amazing and the food was delicious. We could not wait for Hellenic Republic to reopen in Coral Springs . It was worth the wait! We are also thrilled to see a restaurant of this Caliber open in our area of Coral Springs within walking distance rather than on restaurant row on university drive . Let's start out with the good. The decor was nice and homey. Wasn't too loud and music lightly playing in the background. Unfortunately, that was all we were able to experience as our main courses never arrived after waiting over an hour. We had a tiny bowl of tzaziki which was ok. Our server was pleasant but completely unattentive. In the hour, she came over once to say it will be "right out" then went back to chatting with the kitchen staff. They were all hanging out like it's a social setting and they aren't supposed to be working. Customers were not the priority. When we finally lost patience after an hour and said to cancel our orders and we are leaving, one of our 3 dishes miraculously appeared. The server said the remaining dishes were "on their way soon" expecting one person to eat while the others waited. That was unacceptable. Before we even stand up, the server came over to collect for the appetizer. No manager to apologize, no attempt to make things right. Just a have a half-hearted "have good evening" from the hostess. First of all this place is such a hidden gem. A friend referred us and we stopped in for lunch. Initially, when we first walked in the door, I didn't think much of the place. There were few tables inside some outside, and it had somewhat of a rustic ambience. We received our menus, took a seat, and I immediately was impressed at the variety and options. We tried a few different dishes, and the food was amazing. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, and every single dish we ate, exceeded our expectations. The service was fast and friendly. Wow what can I say except it was amazing! After two previous attempts to get in here early on after opening and giving up we gave it one more try and made a reservation for 7PM. We walked in and were greeted at the front and sat down with a smile. Our waitress came within one minute and I can't say enough about this young lady. Her name was Angelica and she was so friendly, professional and on her A-game. She was hustling quite a few tables as it was pretty packed and still came back with a smile every time. We started with the Falafel Appetizer which is just delicious! I could have made a meal out of that fresh Tzatziki it was so good! Then we shared a bowl of soup I don't remember the name But it had orzo and shredded chicken and was simply delicious and the portion was shareable too! We then shared the Moussaka which was cooked perfectly and yummy! Unfortunately we did not come hungry enough not knowing what to expect but next time we will be prepared so we can enjoy more dishes. It has adorable corners decorated so cute with antiques and very cozy. Prices are super reasonable too! My first impression: Portions are very generous! My second impression: The food is fabulous. I was out to dinner with my husband, daughter, son-in-law and one granddaughter. We all loved what we ordered, but my dish, which I have never seen in any Greek restaurant before, was the prize. I'm so happy the portion was enormous. I have another meal on the way home with me. My only negative comment...we ate outside, and though I saw them wiping down the tables and menus between customers, they were sticky. That is something that bothers me, especially since Covid. We have been looking greek food for a long time in PSLamd have tried everything that was around and just was let down. My mom recommended coming here after seeing an article about it in the Sun Sentinel by food critic, Michael Mayo, and all I can say is: WOW! This place is completely living up to the hype. I really wanted an iced coffee, but didn't see one on the menu so when I asked him if they served it, he was delighted to offer to make me a frappe. This ain't no Starbucks frappe, let me tell you ... it's STRONG and sensational and I would visit again just for another one of those. I told him to make it however he would enjoy it and he did not disappoint. The food portions here are HUGE so come hungry. I ordered the chicken and waffles after seeing two other people enjoying them and it was almost intimidating to eat because of how much food there was! The chicken was cooked, seasoned and sauced up PERFECTLY and the waffles were fluffy and sweet. My mom ordered the chicken souvlaki feast and again, the chicken was absolutely perfect. BIG COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF! Alonso regularly checked up on us and expressed with sincerity how thankful he was that we were enjoying ourselves so much. His genuine interest in making sure we were comfortable is so admirable. There was also live music being played which really made our mother/daughter date extra enjoyable. I am soooo happy this place is so close to home because we will definitely be returning and recommending to all our friends and family. A cute Greek place with a wonderful family running things behind the scene! I didn't mind when I found out that our wait would be an hour. I figured that time would pass with us catching up. Then it took over two hours for a table. I understood that. The place is popular and is blowing up on social media. The owner was kind to give us some pita and hummus to tie us over. I ordered a glass of red wine and relaxed. There were mistakes made with the food and they were training two new people. The crowd was overwhelming not to mention the ambulance that showed up for a patron that fell in the parking lot while leaving. I ended up eating the most amazing lamb pita and perfectly cooked handcut fries on the way home. That will linger in my mind for a long time to come. The lamb was shreaded and so tender. We expected a wait as we figured it would be crowded after the recent feature. It was so worth the wait, don't be deterred! I tried the shrimp dish that was featured on the show, the cheesy traxana and perfectly cooked shrimp were devoured. The Halloumi fries were crispy, cheesy goodness and came with a tasty dipping sauce. On the menu you'll find some traditional Greek items but they also have some unique dishes as well. Recently had the opportunity to visit Hellenic while in the area for dinner. From the moment of walking in, I was greeted promptly and welcomed with great energy. The location is large and open, with tables that can accommodate groups of all sizes comfortably. I purchased a bowl that included chicken souvlaki, rice, and vegetables. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, and tender and the portion size was excellent. If you haven't yet been able to visit Hellenic - add it to top of your list. After a long and much anticipated wait, we were finally thrilled that Hellenic reopened in Coral Springs. My family and I were big fans of both the original Hellenic Republic and their spinoff restaurant, Food Republic. After the closing of both prior restaurants, we were eager to try this new location. We arrived on a Friday night to be greeted with a long line of individuals waiting to be seated. It was great to see that the establishment was packed, with most of the patrons being loyal prior guest. Being that the grand opening hasn't officially happened yet we, were not to upset about the hour wait. The food did come out promptly and consistent to what we remembered from the original restaurant. I was hoping to see some of the dishes from Food Republic on the menu, but unfortunately, they didn't crossover. My only complaint of the night was with the sangria. We ordered a pitcher and it was very disappointing. It almost seemed like a key ingredient was missing from the original recipe and was way too bitter. I'm hoping that we just got a bad batch and the original recipe was not altered. At $40 a pitcher, I was going to complain, but I was taking into consideration that this night was a dry opening and they were still working on getting out all the kinks. Still, I feel that this does not take away from the five stars that I rated our experience this evening. The place is decorated beautifully, with a little bit of the two prior restaurants decor. The server was kind but not very attentive which I can understand, she seemed young and overwhelmed. TLDR: disorganized, they need a new manager or she needs some customer service training lmao I never leave reviews but I'm gonna start by saying I love the food from here and any interaction I had with the owners prior to the new location opening has been stellar. That being said, the experience I had tonight was bad enough that I probably won't return. I put in a take out order at 6:30 and it said it would be ready for pick up at 7:20, so I get there around 7:25 and spoke to a young man about my order and he came back and asked what I had ordered so I told him then that was that. I sat there and waited for about 20 min, granted they were busy and I could tell they were short-staffed. I've worked in a restaurant before so I know how it can be, so I was patient. 10 more mins go by and no one has updated me so I asked the young man again how much longer and he comes back and says they had an issue with their to-go system which is fine but I had already been there for 30 min with no update. I asked to speak with a manger which I literally never do lol So the manager comes up to me doesn't greet me just says "what's your name" so I tell her and she walks away and never comes back. So then a host comes up to me (very sweet) and asks again what I ordered so I tell her and then she leaves and I'm waiting for another 10 min. It's almost 8 at this point with no time update on my order so I talk to the host again and ask her how much longer and she tells me 15-20 min. I tell her I'd like to talk to the manager again and I need a refund bc it's been an hour since my food was supposed to done and honestly I was starving so the host goes to get the manager and the manager, who granted was stressed, snapped at her and told her to wait two seconds and then eventually came up to me and said I'm going to go give you a refund then disappeared once again. I then see her running around and she looks at me and goes "oh I gave you a refund" no apologies, explanation or anything. So I just okay and walked out. It's so unfortunate that such a great place now has a negative taste with me bc of one experience. They use dark meat chicken so it's juicy and flavorful. The falafel was pretty good, nothing to write home about. And my partner enjoyed his gyro. I'd trek across town for the chicken and waffles. This Easter, we ordered Hellenic Republic's incredible Easter feast....and, a feast it was! Every single thing was prepared to perfection. The salad was beautifully prepared, the turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes were incredible, along with the brown sugar spiral ham and string beans. Spent New Year's here for a catered event, food was served buffet style. Ordinarily, not a fan, but everything was hot, timed and cooked to perfection. Best gyro meat in south Florida. The shrimp, the chicken dishes, lamb, asparagus, everything was incredible. The baklava cheesecake was scrumptious as well. I think they need a lighted sign outside, the shopping center sneaks up on you if you're not familiar with the area and coming from the east; worth the drive from anywhere. The workers and owner was super nice and walked around to talk to all the customers. He really loves food and having people eat here. I love the spanakopita. It was warm and cheesy and herby. And the chicken soulvaki was so good. It tasted so REAL. not covered in heavy sauces or msg. It felt light and my stomach didn't hurt after I ate it. The food here makes you feel good after you eat.
