This restaurant continues to tease me to come back with it's very cozy and cute interior. However, I am left feeling that the service and food does not match the price you are paying. I was meeting up with 5 other guys for a dinner gathering. All of us separate. We started first at the bar for a cocktail until everyone arrived. When asked to close out my bar tab since our table was ready, the bartender gave me the bill for all of us! I quickly told her that I was on my own and she never smiled or joked or said she was sorry just a nasty glance. I don't know why it's such a big deal for restaurants to deal with each individual customer. We are not a family, we are out together but our finances are not combined. I paid over $100 for a meal and appetizers. You can do this for us. They made such a big deal about dividing up the check for us that we had to call the manager and he wasn't all that friendly. The waiter said he would split it over 3 cards but that was all he was willing to do and that didn't help us. They eventually did break down the bill for us. They may have been 50% capacity at best so they weren't busy. No reason to be so snotty. Personally I don't think they liked that 6 gay men were eating dinner there together in the first place. This table of 6 gay men probably tipped them more than the rest around them. They better wake up. Didn't even come back to ask if my meal was OK or take an additional drink order. Secondly the food. I ordered the scallops because I find them difficult to cook myself correctly. Apparently they have a problem too. Most of the places over cook them and they get a little rubbery but the opposite was true here. They were slightly undercooked, browned only on one side, giving them a slightly slimy texture in the middle, served on a bed of liquefied potatoes (yuck) and spinach pretty much inedible unless you want potato soup. Another guy also got the same thing and had the same problem. The lamb chops seemed to be the highlight of the evening for those that got them and the baklava was very moist and tasty. I just don't feel that any person on this staff went out of their way to make our dining experience the one it should have been with such a high end attitude. You should be kissing our butts so we want to come back. Some of the food was good and others not so good. We didn't send things back because frankly the service was so slow even though they weren't that busy. There are plenty of other Greek restaurants around with better food, cheaper prices, better service and friendly service. Yeah we took more work, maybe an extra 10 minutes for the 6 of us but you got a bigger tip than you deserved for this experience. read more

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Thasos with a group of friends, and everything about the evening was absolutely wonderful. Thasos offers fresh, flavorful Greek-Mediterranean cuisine in a beautiful, contemporary space that feels both upscale and welcoming. We were a party of eleven and enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. We shared a variety of appetizers and loved every single one especially the spanakopita, which was one of the best I've ever had. For my main course, I ordered the scallops, and they were exceptional, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. My husband really enjoyed his chicken skewers, which were juicy, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. When dessert arrived, I stepped away to take a few photos... and by the time I got back to the table, our group had polished everything off! That says all you need to know. Clearly, it was delicious. Service was another highlight of the evening. Our server, Valentino, was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. To top it all off, there was live music, something they feature on Friday and Saturday nights. The performer last night was fantastic. It added such a fun and vibrant energy to the atmosphere. My fam hosted a 20 person dinner party here on a Wednesday in October 2025. The ambiance and decor are lovely and spacious, especially the private area. Upscale, modern Greek design. Not many other parties were dining that night. All of the appetizers were great. My favorite was the Falafel -- the sauce has a bit of a kick to it. My mom's favorite is the Zucchini Chips. When asked for recs, the server reinforced the Chilean Sea Bass Risotto as the best dish. Several folks ordered this and said it was outstanding. Branzino also got rave reviews. HOWEVER. Both people who ordered the Red Snapper complained that it was overcooked and dry. Both people who ordered the Scallops said they were rubbery and so-so. I got the lamb chops which were just OK... Celebrated my hubby's milestone birthday at Thasos! We knew the food was good because we've ordered take out from them, but never dined in! The restaurant is so pretty inside! The décor & ambiance were just perfect! We went on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't busy & it was quiet! We could actually hear our own conversation! We had the lamb chops, with potatoes, & green beans, the zucchini chips, which came with tzatziki, & the spanakopita, which is a spinach pastry! Everything was so well seasoned, so no need to reach for the salt! Our server was attentive & gave good recommendations! Long drive for me to meet up a friend for dinner, but she recommended it, so we gave it a swirl, and boy, did we pick well! Ambiance is a bit boxy, but you can't help it since the restaurant sits at an intersection and has its own parking lot, which is a plus. Inside is contemporary and well lit; however, it maintained a warm atmosphere. We sat at the bar for a drink, then had dinner at one of the booths. Bartender's mixology was on point and the food was really good. Food: The branzino was very special, and it really reminded me of home - I know this is a Greek restaurant and I am Italian, there are similarities. We also shared the roasted eggplant, very very good. Service was attentive and friendly - admittedly it seemed a slow night and it was a Wednesday so we had the staff's full attention. From the moment you pull up to the parking lot you know it must be pretty inside. Such a pretty place white and neutral colors with these beautiful wall size wood sculptures. You are greeted by George and his welcome is an introduction to a fabulous evening. The staff is so on point. These people don't miss a beat. We sat at the bar and the two bartenders were so attentive to us. Constant smiles were plentiful, the girls were delightful. As we sat there we watched them work as a team always taking care of the customers. They know their regulars and they were all treated as family. Sofia the owner is hands on. She was watching each plate as it went out and she made sure to say hello to her patrons. Lovely person. The food, OMG!!! We weren't sure what to expect as we have never been to a Greek restaurant. Everything we ate was so delicious our taste buds were awoken with the fabulous Mediterranean spices. The Greek Olive oil, so tasty. The Greek salad could have been my meal. I couldn't get enough of it. We had the braised short ribs and they didn't disappoint. I ate super slow. Make sure to leave room for dessert. We had the chocolate cake/mousse cake, fabulous. Like taking a trip to Santorini! The outside, the decor inside, all white and contemporary. There was live Greek music, the musician snuck in other middle eastern music, and their renditions of popular songs as well. We got the Zucchini chips, thinly sliced, battered, with an amazing garlic dip (may want to skip on kissing your significant other after that one, no regrets). The Greek salad was super fresh and my secret is the use the bread they bring on the table to soak up the juices of the Greek salad and eat it after. So good!! Also got the saganki, which came to the table on fire! Exciting presentation, and delicious. The main dish was branzino which came with lemon and capers. It could've used a bit more salt, but still tasty. And of course, I had to have their baklava for dessert! It was different, it had clove and cinnamon in it which gave it a nice spice. Came with a side of vanilla ice cream which complimented it nicely. The ambiance was fun, the service was great (attentive staff), and the food satisfied all my Greek cravings! It's official, this place is amazing. My wife and I went back a second time last night. From the service to the drinks and their amazing food, once again everything was excellent. Started with a couple of their Cucumber Coolers and had the Octopus and Calamari as appetizers. The drink are so good. The Octopus just like last time was truly the best we ever had. The Calamari was perfectly cook. Tender with a light and flaky breading. The best part of everything so far is it tasted exactly like it did the first we went. There is nothing worse then going to a restaurant and expecting one thing and then the flavor is totally different. For dinner I had the Scallops and my wife had the Red Snapper. I will say my Scallop dish was so delicious. For my wife Red Snapper, hands down the best snapper dish we have ever tried. Super fresh and the seasonings they use and the how it's served is tremendous. We are already planning our next trip back. I'll say it again. By far the best Greek food we have had. read more

Super inconspicuous restaurant located near the beach on Oakland Park Blvd with very nice white decor. I almost missed it since it blends in with the gas station next to it. A plus is that it has its own parking lot unlike the restaurants nearby where you have to pay to park. Everything came on time and the service was top notch. I really enjoyed the Briam as it was a very healthy meal with lots of vegetables and sprinkles of feta cheese. read more

Went there last night for dinner--what a great time! The vibe, decor, music and service were all great. Our party of 4 enjoyed some unique cocktails and a good bottle of Albariño. We shared some tasty small plates including grapes leaves, octopus fritters, keptedes & octopus salad. The only bland app was the calamari. Thasos Greek restaurant has one of the most beautiful dining atmospheres in Fort Lauderdale. With stunning chandeliers and floor art, the interior looks like modern Greece, all light wood and soft white linen textures. We took advantage of Dine Out Lauderdale which offered a 3-course dinner for $45 ($55 for lamb chops). There were plenty of appetizers and entrees to select from. Six of us shared appetizers. The fried calamari was lightly battered and delicious! The octopus was perfectly grilled and tasty. The saganaki came out dramatically flaming in a pan. We all agreed that the appetizers were very good, but unfortunately our entrees were less successful. My medium rare lamb chops came out almost well done and lacked seasoning. The filet mignon skewers were 'overcooked and tough.' The seafood risotto was 'just ok.' The Greek desserts were interesting, especially the Ekmek Kataifi with vanilla custard and chantilly cream. Our server was awesome and friendly. He always had a smile and made sure we were having a good time. Ditto the busboy. Service was 5 stars and made the night (ambience = 5 stars, appetizers = 5 stars, entrees = 3 stars). read more

The best meatballs (keftedes) I have ever had in my life ... seriously. Sophia, the owner, grinds her own special blend in house and forms the meatballs by hand. The amount of care and dedication that is paid to this deceptively simple dish is worth five stars alone. This is valentines day 2025. 30 minutes before a waiter came. Then 45 minutes before drinks came. Now 1.5 hours into the reservation one round of drinks and salad and saganaki came. But that's it. Thasos is an upscale Greek restaurant located off A1A. There is a well lit parking lot and a fair amount of self parking. When you enter you are met by the hostess who was quite pleasant. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The server was quick to come to our table and place items, take a water order and return to get our drink order and appetizer order. We ordered fried zucchini chips and watermelon with feta salad. The fried zucchini chips were amazing and will transport you back to a small Greek village. Crisp and tasty. The watermelon and feta was also delicious and refreshing. For entrees we ordered scallops and red snapper with a side of forbidden rice. The scallops were cooked perfectly and seared to perfection. They cut like a hot knife through butter and melted in your mouth. You couldn't have asked for better scallops. The red snapper however, was about 2-3 minutes over cooked. The fish was dry and rather unremarkable. The bed of spinach under the snapper was delicious. The forbidden rice was not what I was expecting, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't my take on what was coming. Even with the miss on the fish, Thasos is a solid 4 stars, 5 had the snapper been cooked properly. They serve a crispy bread with olive tapenade that is delicious, and the service and atmosphere is outstanding. We did observe what we think was branzino being served at the table next to us. I would definitely try that on a second visit, it looked awesome and the table side preparation was a delight to observe. read more

Prior to my first visit to Thasos, I walked by it on a daily basis and was convinced it was a spa. It has that comforting cocoon vibe-- which as it turns out is accurate, just in restaurant form. Now that I've had the pleasure of eating here, I highly recommend it. The service is that perfect blend of always available yet never obtrusive. My scallops were perfectly perpared. My friends both had the branzino and raved about it. The salad was large enough for the table to share. The dessert was the same. It was one of the nicest meals I've had in a while. So I am confused why Thasos was nearly empty at 7pm on a Thursday. It should have been packed. If, like me, you pass by this building at Oakland Park & A1A wondering what it is, maybe pop in and give it a try. I'm adding it in my regular rotation. read more

Came all the way from Miami to try this amazing restaurant. Yes the decor is beautiful, but what stood out the most was the food. You can never go wrong with the saganaki - as always the crispy parts are the best. My branzino was fresh and mouthwatering. Such a simple dish but extremely well executed. & the desert - ekmek kataif - hard to pronounce but a great way to end the night. Very light and perfectly crunchy. This is definitely a place that I will come back to! My sister had been wanting to go here for the longest time, and we finally made it on a Friday night! The place is beautiful, nicely decorated Greece style, modern vibes and amazing food and service. I got there first and sat at the bar. While waiting for my sister I ordered a Watermelon Basil vodka drink and enjoyed the music and atmosphere. My sister was held back at work so I say there for a good our before she got there. I wanted to try one of each drinks because they all sounded so delicious but I loved my Watermelon Basil drink so much that I ended up sticking with it all night. When my sister finally got there, we ordered the zucchini chips with tzaziki dip, the grill octopus and the saganaki. Everything was so delicious and perfect. Then we ordered our entrees. I got the branzino and my sister got the seabass. They were both fantastic! My sister let me try her seabass and it was honestly the flakiest and most flavorful fish I've had in a really long time. My branzino was also unbelievable!! We were there for a good 4 hours so we also watched the live music, which is awesome, typical Greek music, all the musicians obviously super talented!! This is definitely a place I will go back to and try everything else in the menu!!! read more

I had branzino and octopus. Both were really good. Greek salad was very tasty. My friend insists they put some special olive oil. Could be. Haven't tried the desserts. Yet Valet parking. Had dinner for two last night. Venue is beautiful, food was quite delicious. Very big problem was, that there was a huge party with over 200 people!! We weren't warned about the party when our reservation was made through "Open Table" !! Not sure who's responsible, but there should be some sort of communication between the restaurant and "Open Table", so that customers are made aware of the situation... I do commend the restaurant for accommodating us with proper services. We were seated in a separate dining area (no other diners were there), although the noise from the party was still overwhelming, our waiter - Stanley, was very nice and attentive, in the midst of the party he was able to check on us every 10 minutes or so... Timing of the service and quality of the food were not effected by the party. I would return there again, but next time I might call the restaurant directly rather than relying on "Open Table" for the reservation. read more

This was my first restaurant that I attended for dine out Lauderdale and man did I pick the right one to start. The restaurant had amazing ambiance and the staff were super friendly with great food to back it up. We were given the regular menu but had to ask for the Lauderdale dine out menu from the waiter. He provided it with no hesitation. We started off with appetizers and decided to share a variety for the table. We ordered the trio dip, calamari, and saganaki. Great start to our meal. The cheese came out flaming which was great fun for pic opportunities, the calamari wasn't over fried and was nice and tender on the inside with a great crunch on the outside. The trio dip also good and came along with pita chips, whipped feta spread, eggplant and green chick pea hummus. For the entree my daughter ordered the lamb chops for an up charge, my cousin ordered the branzino and I had the salmon. All great entree dishes. The fish were amazing and the lamb chops were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had the Ekmek Kataifi vanilla custard, chantilly cream, pistachios, sliced almonds. It was a nice tasting dessert. Four of us went to Thasos for the Crave Fort Lauderdale special menu. For me it was a return to an older favorite that did not disappoint. For my 3 friends it was a great first impression, especially since this is one of the prettiest restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale. To their credit, Thasos offers a very generous number of choices, and everyone had a fantastic meal. Not every participating restaurant does. The Greek salad and calamari appetizers were excellent and large. The spanikopita and grape leaves delicious. Two of us had the shrimp scampi and it was really good with a sauce that added fresh cherry tomatoes to a regular scampi. The salmon was really terrific, as were the filet mignonette kebabs. First time at this establishment. The decor was such a vibe felt like I was eating outside the bright white colors and natural touches were calming. The fresh flowers on the table I loved. The service was great our waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended great bottles for the table. For the food it was good size portions. For appitetizers the hummus and chips were good calamari was crunchy and fresh and you can never go wrong with some fried cheese. As for the entrées.The branzio was cooked perfectly the lamb was tasty the salmon flakey and juicy and my daughter loved her filet mignon screwers. They have a private room available as well which I love. We went on a Wednesday which was a little quiet but looks like they also have a live performance on the weekends.
