Alas, my better nature wins out. This is a booth in the historic Lancaster Central Market, which is well over 100 years old. It can be crowded so plan ahead if you visit for that. There are many merchants, including others who sell baked goods. I stopped at this booth because it was very well lit, and when I got there the person working there was polite and friendly. Now, to the good stuff: These cupcakes are very, very good and their decoration is second to none. We got the Apple Pie Cupcake, which has icing that looks like a pie with a woven top but is NOT FONDANT. That means it's delicious, and, fortunately, not overly sweet. The cupcake itself was spiced apple and was light and airy and yum. We also got a gorgeous rose cupcake, again, no fondant, a fun turkey cupcake and a peanut butter & chocolate cupcake because Lion loves them. Lastly, I got the most gorgeous decorated sugar cookie. It seriously was almost too beautiful to eat. When I did, the cookie was light and crumbly and delicious. Would I go again? Heck, yeah! I have learned that I can order online in advance and pick up at the market so I will be doing this, and some of the cupcakes may make it all the way back to Philly. Or not. Depends.

The exterior was so hard and crisp, it was like biting a sheet of glass. My friends thought that was great, but I thought my mouth was going to be shredded. Not pleasant for me. Second time, I tried a bagel egg sandwich with a not toasted bagel. The exterior was an improvement, no sheet of glass feeling. The interior was super chewy. When biting through the bagel, I thought I was going to pull my teeth out. By the time the bagel was finished, my jaw felt like it just endured a boxing match.
