They confirmed the appointment that day, 48 hours prior to the appointment and then again 24 hours prior to the appointment. At the time of the appointment they did not show up. I chatted on their site with a bot and then eventually reached them by phone. After two hours of trying to find the technician they sent me a message that they could not locate their technician and I would have to restart the process and book another appointment. At 11am that gets randomly changed to 6pm that you only discover when you call them back and talk to Fred from Bhopal. Same thing at 6pm. No communication. Reschedule appt. for the following day at 11pm, call at 11:15 and talk to Tim from Mexico who says he'll make sure you get a call - telling you he "understands your frustration." You go to track the order which shows you where the technician and it says they're "on time." It is simply the worst service I've ever experienced. For my mother's home, I bought a new 55 inch TV and needed it installed. I admit that I did not look at her current install and there were cables and a WiFi box near the old TV. If any cables needed to be run we had a basement, and I told the technician where the outdoor cables could be run if any needed to be run. In the end no cables needed to be run. I signed up for "In Wall Cable Running" ($249) and "TV and Home Theater Support" ($129) to get the TV set up. In the end the system was a straight WiFi installation so I asked for the $249 back. HelloTech responded to my request by saying, "he stated that he replaced coaxial and ethernet cables so you can get higher-speed internet and connect the system wirelessly. Tech added that this information was communicated to you." I literally was with the technician for all but 3 minutes of the 2 hours that he was here and I never saw him touch a cable, or test a cable to see if it had more bandwidth than en existing cable. They also said, "we would like to offer 20% of the in-wall cable running portion which amounts to $49.80." Hahahaha.... OK. I initially gave them 5 stars, but this is highway robbery at these prices. I called and asked for a tech to hook up my printer and remote on my phone for my Nest and trouble shoot Alexa. I was given a quote of $304, which I thought was very high, but okay, I needed the help. Of course they try to set up a membership with a monthly charge. No thanks, does anyone need monthly help? The quote is not even much less for that with the membership. So, now she's telling me there are stiff penalties for cancelling even if you do it right after making the appointment and even paying the entire quote price if YOU "no show", which I would never do. Their tech "no showed" on me, a couple of weeks ago and they didn't even call. They just emailed me at the time of the appointment, great if you are always looking at your emails. I sat there at home waiting till much later. (I could have gone out) No phone call. When I called to reschedule, the gal said I was not charged for the "cancellation" I said I hope not, I was the one that was "no showed" on. She even told me that twice, like I was lucky I wasn't charged. No price break or anything, like maybe handle one of the problems at no charge, would have been nice. HelloTech scheduling system and appointment confirmation/reminders has been the best we have encountered. Unfortunately, our experience with the actual install was quite disappointing. It seemed like Benjamin was already upset upon greeting us and had a chip on his shoulder. We can see he was frustrated with the install as things were not working-- (1) the chime/doorbell would not work (2) was not able to get my wife's phone working and stated "you have an Apple phone and didn't update--that's why its not working." We were under the impression and hired HelloTech to assist us as we are technology challenged, but ridiculing us at the same time with his tone of voice and complete unprofessionalism was totally uncalled far. We felt belittled and all we were look someone to help us. He really wasn't understanding and continued giving us a really bad attitude. He kept blaming everything else that is wrong. He was even so rude as to say, "You aren't satisfied with my work then let me call my office and we won't charge you. And just to be clear, YOU SEE I tried everything that I CAN and I helped you all the way." He walked out the door--got on his phone and then after 20-25 mins or so--asks us to speak with the Nest representative on the phone to verify our account. Finally, the Nest Representative on the phone got the chime and app working. He hung up the phone, then had us rush to sign the paperwork and left. It was quite an unpleasant experience. read more

Scheduled a TV mount appointment on a Saturday and was instantly charged a hold in my bank account (thinking this would go smoothly). Day of the appointment, I didn't receive a call or notification about the technician being late. I had to reach out to customer service and unfortunately they were unable to locate the van. After continued delay, we came to the compromise of rescheduling for the following day (Sunday). Fast forward to Sunday, my appointment slot arrived and again to no surprise -- no technician OR warning about any delays. I called customer service again to get a status report and was told, "We are unable to locate the technician at this time." This is really disappointing considering on my call with the customer service rep. the day before, this would be a time that worked best for me and the technician in order to make up for the inconvenience from the previous day. An exceptionally poor experience from start to finish, and every attempt to communicate with HelloTech has consisted of communicating with this poorly trained and snide "customer service" employee (Justin) devoid of empathy. Truly, this is a guy who hates people and his job. I used HelloTech last year to mount a TV and things went fine. However, this week, I scheduled a TV mounting service, and then was asked to provide pictures of the TV, Mount, and Work Area. Having provided the requested materials over a day prior to the scheduled service, I expected the tech to show up ready to mount the TV. However, the tech had never seen this TV nor its proprietary mount, and didn't follow LG's instructions or guide for either. The tech walked all over my furniture, even on the mantle, while still not understanding how to get the TV into the mount. Now, my mistake was selecting that I could help lift the TV, and I didn't realize this until after the service was finished. I own that mistake. However, if the tech had just followed the instructions and been prepared for the job it wouldn't have been such a nightmare. At one point, while we were holding my $4k television in the air the tech answered a phone call and scheduled another service while leaving my partner and I there holding the TV over the mantle. Yep! You read that right! The worst part is I thought HelloTech would understand my frustrations when I reached out to let them know how my service went. Instead, I was blamed for not selecting the option to have someone else arrive to assist. I wish I had! It wasn't that I'm not capable of lifting the TV, it was that the tech didn't come prepared to mount this specific television despite being provided the necessary and requested materials prior to his arrival for the job. I thought HelloTech would try to make this right, but instead the unfriendly customer service rep I spoke with tried to blame me for how the visit went. Think it's safe to say that there are much more qualified individuals/companies offering these services and HelloTech's easy user interface shouldn't be the reason you schedule a job with them. As the client, you should expect a tech that arrives ready to protect and competently mount your TV. read more

After getting my TV hung he could not get my woofer to work, now trying to play Netflix I cannot get sound at all.. I requested a service call a week ago and was told someone would call me back. Still no call! Called yesterday and was told a manager would call me back. 18 hours later and still no call. After I spent nearly a half hour on the phone with the representative, we eagerly awaited the technicians to come in for a big job. Move a TV, add a flat screen and hook up TV's to new sound systems. I went over each part of the job including the need for two people as one of the TV's was nearly a hundred pounds and the brand of each component. First the tech showed up nearly an hour and a half late and we had dinner plans with friends from out of town that was now going to make the job tight. He walked in and I said, where is your assistant? His response to me was, let me look over the job and if I think that I need an assistant, then I can call one in. He then looks around the size of our apartment and says, I need to give you a quote on how much the job is going to be. I was amazed and told him that was why I spent a half hour on the phone with the rep. He said, before he even looked at one component that he was going to have to charge me double. He then looks at the first room where an amplifier needed to be hooked to a TV and speakers and said to himself, maybe triple. At that point I asked him if he could do the job that day and he said that he didn't like my attitude and wanted to cancel. By that time my wife and I had enough of him and asked him to leave. He then got on the phone and called someone and told them that he was not going to work with such rude people. Meanwhile, my wife was in the other room ready to call the police if he didn't leave. He was obviously mentally unwell. He also felt that since we had a nice apartment, that he could get away with charging us much more. So I bought a Nest Video Doorbell. According to Nest, they recommend it be professionally installed and offer a list of installers in the area that can be used. HelloTech was the first company they recommended. I call them and try and set it up. On their website, it just says that pre-existing wiring must be at the install site. So I ask the person on the phone what that means. She says that if you don't have a video doorbell already, they won't install a new one. So I ask the easy question... Isn't that the purpose of a professional installation company that is recommended BY Nest, to do NEW installs for products? I get told that "we aren't electricians and there is nothing we can do for you." So I mention there are wires at the install site, inside the wall because of the light switches and such. She tells me "those aren't the right wires." Huh? So apparently video doorbells run an exclusive type of electricity that only HelloTech knows about. I gave up. I went through another company with no problems. They did a "new install." Did what they have to and everything is fine. HelloTech was a waste of my time and a waste of my cell phone battery for the call. read more

The experience with Hello Tech was simply awful from start to finish: the tech was one hour late. I was overcharged by HelloTech (should have been a $79.00 charge that somehow ended up being $257.00! Have had numerous calls with "customer service" where I was told the charges would be reversed & nothing has been done. Thankfully I can dispute with my cc company.
