The experience with Hello Tech was simply awful from start to finish: the tech was one hour late. I was overcharged by HelloTech (should have been a $79.00 charge that somehow ended up being $257.00! Have had numerous calls with "customer service" where I was told the charges would be reversed & nothing has been done. Thankfully I can dispute with my cc company. Do not use this company to mount your TV!! They came out a week ago to mount our TV above the fireplace. When I came home to see the finished mount I noticed it was completely uncentered vertically and almost touching the crown molding. We called to ask if a tech could come back to lower and center it. After 4 follow-up calls asking for a response we finally received a response from customer service telling us we would have to pay a dismounting fee and a remounting fee to fix ($258) (ultimately costing MORE to come back and fix it than the initial mounting fee of $225). We were willing to pay for a portion of the fix but to pay more than double to complete the project in a satisfactory manner is ridiculous. He cleaned up dust that accrued from his work, in both locations, and he helped with an unrelated task of helping us move something that was too heavy for me. We were also able to schedule them quickly-- our TVs arrived Tuesday afternoon and he came out on Friday, other places said they couldn't help us for weeks. Pricing seemed to be fair as well. A huge thanks to all the Tech's that helped me remove a bothersome Trojan virus, it took a long time to finally remove it, but each one of the techs was very patient and very thorough. ALL did a fantastic job!!! Additionally, their up front pricing for the removal was worth it especially since I purchased the year long service for only an Additional $11! This is the second time we used Hello Tech (the first time was in home installation of a new computer, the second time was for the virus removal was a remote service was really beneficial since it took a couple of days to finally remove it entirely). I recently purchased a 64" TV and mount from Best Buy and was not going to even try to get the TV out of the box by myself. After listing on TaskRabbit over a dozen times and having literally no takers to help me mount it, I was thrilled to find HelloTech! I placed my order on a Saturday and Richard was at my house on Sunday (marathon Sunday in San Francisco by the way!). Richard knew exactly what to do with my 64" TV and the mount I had purchased from Best Buy. He even helped me figure out where exactly on the wall to place it for optimal viewing. Richard also helped me hook up my other devices, like Roku and Chromecast. He was prompt, friendly and an expert in handling technology. Did a basic 'Computer Tune-Up' with Giancarlo. My work laptop was running super-slow, and hard drive was running constantly. Fortunately, no blue screens, no pop ups, and doesn't look like any viruses either. Just a bunch of cookies, temp files and crap!! It was a mess. After some research I contacted Hello Tech and had an amazing experience because of Walter. I have two different business accounts in my home and was making major changes to two computers and he didn't miss a beat. He was thorough, very knowledgeable and accommodating. The installer was nice, but I filled the form out on line and they asked if the TV was being mounted on the fireplace or drywall. I selected drywall. Apparently because it was over the fireplace it was an extra 69 dollars. I probably would not have mined the extra charge, but I wasn't informed. I just received an additional charge on my credit card and had to call to figure out what it was for. And this is despite the fact I sent them a picture of the TV and space before they arrived. Hello Tech employee dishonest and offensive while in my home. When I placed my order for service I was told the employee would bring an outlet bridge for mounting my television on the wall along with a receipt for the cost and I would need to reimburse the Hello Tech employee for the cost. I researched the cost of the equipment at the local Home Depot and found that it was priced at $39. "Phil" told me that he paid $60 for the bridge. When I asked Phil for the receipt he told me that he didn't have one. I informed him that the equipment only cost $39 at the local Home Depot. He replied, "Yeah, well I paid $60". Phil left the empty box behind so I investigated the sticker on it. The sticker had the store number on it and came from the local Home Depot. When I took the box with the store's label still on it to the Home Depot, the employees there confirmed that it was purchased from their store. An employee scanned the price at the register. It was $39 and matched the price on the shelf. I spoke to the store management to find out if this was a sale price and if the equipment was previously more expensive and he informed me that this was the regular price of the bridge. The dishonest Hello Tech employee Phil who told me did not have a receipt had lied to me about the cost and overcharged me for the equipment. I have pictures of the box, label, scanned and shelf prices of the equipment. All in all he charged me $120 dollars extra for equipment because in addition to the (dishonest) $60 charge for the outlet bridge, he had to use different HDMI Cables because the ones that I had were not long enough. He did not provide me a receipt for any of those additional charges either. The total cost of mounting my television on the wall and connecting my XBOX, Soundbar, and cable box had grown to $500. The employee was also offensive. When Phil arrived at my home, he began telling me that there would be additional charges for connecting my XBOX and Soundbar (I had bought a new XBOX and Soundbar to replace the ones that were on my existing television), I wasn't informed that if I didn't unbox and connect the equipment before he arrived there that it would cost more money for him to connect them to the television after he mounted it to the wall. I informed Phil that I wasn't aware that I would be charged extra for those services. He asked me the employee I spoke to had "an accent". He said that they always have this problem because "foreigners" take these phone calls and don't inform customers of the true costs. He wanted to know if the person I spoke with had an accent and might have been "foreign". I was surprised that he would blame the new charges for my installation on foreign people who spoke with accents. In summary, the total cost of my install had gone from $230 to about $500. The employee told me what the costs of extra equipment would be but did not produce any receipts. He also lied about what he paid for the bridge and overcharged me. Would I consider using this service again? -Absolutely not. read more

Jeremy came to help set up stuff with two playstations and transferring/consolidating files from our hard drives so I can find what I need. He busted-butt to try to make our printer work. We were very impressed with his eagerness to see the issues through to our satisfaction. He was also very kind about our lack of savvy (which was why we had to call on Geekatoo to begin with). I would recommend him very highly. One thing I found very odd was that Geekatoo doesn't specify Mac vs PC when they are matching the customer with a tech. That seems like a no-brainer and changing it I think could improve an already pretty great business set-up. Will definitely call upon them again if needs be. read more
