On 11/10/25, I was referred to HelloTech by Xfinity for an in-wall cable run and scheduled service for 11/12/25. The technician arrived, began work, then said he needed to leave to get a part and would return later that day. He never came back. When I called HelloTech, I was transferred to the technician, who said he was on another job and would not be returning. I called HelloTech to reschedule and requested a different tech, but they sent the same one. During the second visit, the technician removed my attic access hatch, cut a hole for the outlet, and damaged drywall and paint in multiple areas. He also damaged the attic access door. Shortly after, he began packing up and said he had to abandon the job because he was "not qualified" to do cable runs. When I pointed out the damage, he apologized but said there was nothing he could do. He tried to cover the paint damage by brushing over it, leaving paint streaks and drips down the wall and onto the floor. The drywall hole he cut was left unfinished with plaster dust everywhere. When I contacted HelloTech asking to speak with a manager, I was told I didn't need to and should just submit a claim. I filed the claim, but the response said it could take up to two business days for someone to contact me. That is unacceptable given the property damage and unprofessional service. I am requesting that HelloTech contact me immediately and reimburse me for the cost to repair the drywall, paint, and attic access damage caused by their technician. read more

This company's service description is misleading. They advertise a service labeled "uninstall/install TV" for $100, which reasonably implies that they will remove the TV from one location and reinstall it in another. However, when the technician arrived, he only unscrewed four bolts, placed the TV on the floor, and stated that installation was not included in the service. According to him, the service covers either uninstalling or installing -- not both. This is not what is communicated in the description and creates a false expectation for the customer. The wording clearly suggests a complete uninstall and reinstall service, not a partial task. This experience was frustrating and a waste of time. These hucksters are the WORST. They were charging me $20/month ($240 year) subscription fee for the privilege of getting hosed by them. The first time I needed them to come to my house they were OK. The second time is when they really went off the rails. On three separate occasions, I got texts saying the tech was "on their way"...only to get another text saying an issue came up and I would have to call to reschedule. I ultimately had to go elsewhere to get the tech issue solved. Is that any way to run a business? When I called to cancel my subscription, they said I "just missed" my annual subscription renewal/cancellation window and therefore I would have to pay them for an additional eleven months. I asked to elevate this to a manager who could right this wrong and they told me "we can't do that." DO NOT hire them. Each time, I cleared my schedule, and each time I was left waiting with no service delivered. After the third no-show, I finally asked for a full refund. I had already paid in advance for a service that, to this day, has never been provided. That's when things got even more frustrating. Suddenly, the customer service reps became much harder to reach. Calls went to voicemail, emails were ignored, and when I did finally get a response, it was full of vague promises that my refund was "being processed." That was over a month ago. To date, I have not received a dime back. It's one thing for a company to run into scheduling issues--life happens, and I can be understanding when people are honest and proactive. But the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect for a customer's time and money is unacceptable. Not honoring a refund for a service that was never rendered is not only unethical, it borders on theft. I've since filed a complaint with my bank and reported the company to the Better Business Bureau. If you're considering using their services, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Worst experience ever. I make an appointment 2 weeks in advance. It was confirmed by "Technician 1" the day after the appointment was made. I take off work, and ready on the date scheduled. 15 minutes AFTER the appointment was supposed to commence, the technician asks me if I can move the appointment from 9am ( it was already 9:15am ) to 4pm. I say no because I have other arrangements. He cancels it. I call and complain. They assign a new technician for 1pm. OK, fine. At 12:30pm the new technician calls and asks me to choose a DIFFERENT DAY. I explained that I took off work for this. He says, "OK" then hangs up. Two minutes later, I get the cancellation notice. "Your technician is unable to make the appointment, choose a different time." I call and they state they cannot refund me except through PayPal, and it takes 30 DAYS! I do not recommend HelloTech. I purchased a Logitech smart doorbell and as part of the package, included installation with HelloTech. Scheduling on their website was easy and straightforward but it went pretty downhill from there. The technician contacted to let me know he would be an hour late. I appreciate the call. He arrives a little before 7:00 PM and starts getting to work. I was feeling pretty confident it would go quick since he said he does smart doorbells all the time. He connected the doorbell and it didn't work. He disconnected and re connected it again, but it didn't work. When removed and plugged into an alternate power source, it worked fine. He didn't have his own micro usb cables to test power to the unit so I had to scramble to find my own. I also became more worried since he wasn't sure about the different color indicators meant on the doorbell He suggested to upgrade the power transformer for the doorbell. He didn't have the parts with him, so he went to Home Depot. Upon return he installed the transformer. But something happened and he said he fried the transformer unit. He was scared that the doorbell was fried too. Luckily it wasn't. At nearly 10:00 pm he said he'd come again the following day. The next day he came at about 10:45 AM and installed the doorbell. He was more prepared because he had a transformer with him. The doorbell worked! But it wasn't connected to the chime inside my home. He kept trying but it wasn't working. He left at 12:45 PM and I have a doorbell that does video. But doesn't make a chime inside my house - yea the most basic function of a doorbell. Summary: unprepared tech who didn't know what he was doing. 5+ hours of time for something that doesn't quite work right and HelloTech charged me an extra $79 for the transformer. I just a new desktop computer and ordered service from HelloTech for the first time ever - for a single home visit to help install my new PC. While the process was simple and fast, I got an invoice for a monthly membership with them, which I never enrolled in. Chatting with the rep, apparently there was a box that I didn't un-tick or something, which I never saw, which automatically enrolls you into a subscription. Where I come from (I Founded a TV channel with a monthly membership), this is considered Freud (or dis-honest at the very least). I cancelled the appointment and was SOO disappointed that in year 2021 services will mis-lead customers like that. The process to just get the appointment was backwards and should have been my first clue that this was going to go left. However, I continued on ad scheduled the appointment only to have a tech (and use that term very loosely) come to my home and strip and damage my existing coax cable and disconnect my router leaving me no internet or TV service to my other devices. Contacting the Customer Service Department located in the Philippines was just a run around and being placed on hold. Anytime I need a tv mounted my go-to is HelloTech. All the other places I looked, want ridiculous amounts of money to put up even an average sized tv (40 inches or less); I'm talking $300 and better. I got both my 46 inch and 65 inch TVs put up for less than that. Their website is easy to navigate and the process is really straightforward and transparent. Booked for them to come and build a vanity. As they requested prior to them coming, pictures of the vanity were sent over to them (with dimensions). No mention that it would require a 2 person job until after I inquired that they decided to charge my card double once the technician left. it took over a week for them to get back to me as to why I was charged double. 1) when pictures were sent prior to them coming, that should have been communicated so that I could decide if I wanted to proceed with the appointment 2) no mention while the technician was here that it could be a possibility for extra charges due to the complexity of the vanity. I was blindsided with extra charges and no explanation why until I continuously pressed for it. I will no longer be using the services of this organization for anything other than a computer issue (my experience with that was very positive). When I followed up with the company (waiting about 30 minutes for an operator), I was told that I had signed up for this "membership" when I scheduled my service call. The company acknowledged that my membership was canceled but will not refund the money already charged to my card. This is only $10. I get it. But this is bad, deceptive business practice. The BBB has multiple complaints relating to the exact same issue. I submitted my credit card in expectation of service which I never used.
