Their dispatch is located in the country of Jordan in the Middle East. AAA contracted them for a tow. Terrible service. Took over 2hrs to arrive. I was in a dangerous location & they pushed the time back 4x. First 30min then an hour, hour and 1/2. Then dispatch lied about where the driver was saying he was 5 min away, then he stopped answering the phone. Dispatch gave the driver the wrong address & I had to correct the driver. That took another 25min. Highway patrol finally saw me and waited behind my car for an hour. All I got was 'sorry we're busy'. I've already filed a complaint with AAA read more

My car wouldn't start while I was in an unfamiliar area, so I called AAA. After about half hour the tow truck arrived, I asked the driver to recommend a repair shop; he suggested one affiliated with the same company, Helms & Hill. I was told the starter was broken and needed replacing. When I asked about the cost, they said they didn't know yet and would have to wait until the next day to order the parts. The following morning, I called the mechanic; he said the work was in progress. When I asked for an estimate, he didn't know and told me to ask the office instead, saying he would text me the contact details. At noon, the mechanic called to say the repairs were finished and asked me to come to the office to pay and pick up the car; he texted me the office's contact info, which was at a different address. I took an Uber and arrived at 1:20 PM. My car was the only one in the lot, and the only key was sitting on their desk, but they couldn't process the payment because the repair shop hadn't sent over the invoice yet. I didn't manage to get my car back until 2:15 PM--it was absolutely ridiculous. They had made me go to the office specifically to handle the invoice and payment. As I expected, the repair cost was exorbitantly high. This was a real lesson learned. I recommend AAA remove Helms & Hills from their service list. Whatever you do, never use a repair shop recommended by an AAA tow truck driver!!! read more

Three stars because the customer service here it's just so unprofessional like I don't understand what's up with these chicks. They are so unhappy and miserable for some reason I've been in Montebello resident for over 13 years now I've had to deal with these people more than a handful of times and I wouldn't just say it for myself because I've been there and witness them be so rude to other people as well. Is one girl in particular I believe her name is Jessica. she's just so naïve l. The last visit I had an older gentleman assist me while I got my belongings out of my vehicle. I didn't catch his name, but he was very nice. He even said himself was that girl rude to you guys. I told him oh my gosh yes people it's not only you guys everybody complains and says the front desk is always rude. I just laughed it off you know because whatever but definitely Jessica. These people are shit and gaslighters. My car was fine until they towed it. When it was getting towed, it sounded messed up how they were doing it. Personally, I am not sure how is that even possible. Many tow truckers towed it without it sounding like that. I knew something was off. Some how right after I got a major oil leak, and some how my clutch needed replacing. It was sent there for one day. Picked it up and drove my car to work and back and somehow all that happens on my way back... Coincidence... Only drove it for an hour. They stole shit in my car too. They stole money, I had a change bag and thats gone. They also stole my cologne. I am finding little things missing. I called the receptionist and she was already so defensive that I told her I had a problem with the car and all of these issues seemed off. I then spoke to the manager and told him I have $10-$15 cash missing. His response, "well do you know how much exactly"? Why does it even matter I am missing all of it. Proceeds to gaslight and say that if I really did know what I was missing I would know the exact amount im missing and saying that his employees would never do that and would be terminated. Well clearly there entire team are assholes and needs to be terminated. Shitty business. read more

Their tow truck damaged the wall around my house upon picking up my car for a tow. I spoke with the supervisor & texted with him several times. He old me he would repair the damage over the weekend, no one ever showed up. Said he'd come the following weekend, again no one showed up. Suing them might be my only option now. Terrible experience. I don't know how AAA vets who they subcontract out to but they dropped the ball with this company. I'd give them zero stars if I could. read more

Completely unprofessional and bitter people. My car was sitting in their yard and when I came to pick it up with my private tow truck they didn't allow him back there. No problem I understand. They told me it'd be an extra 250 for them to bring it out to the street with THEIR forklift. Again no problem I understand. In the end they make my private tow truck go into the yard and pick it up himself. When I asked to speak to the supervisor, he comes out with a smart attitude. All I wanted to know was why I was being charged 250 when in the end MY tow truck was the one bringing it out?!? The supervisor disregards my question and starts saying I'm paying him for his time and asking me how much money I make and who was driving my car ?! All irrelevant question when I was just respectfully asking why charge me 250 if they couldn't do it. He even threatens me by saying "time and place" and to grow a pair. Keep in mind I'm a 100% disabled veteran. Even though my car was already on MY tow truck, he still made my guy unmount the car and then proceed to struggle doing it themselves. Funny thing was, once I was leaving their employees started recording me even though I was respectful to them the whole time. All I did was call the supervisor a dumb *** for not being able to answer my questions and being extremely rude at it. read more

My motorcycle (Suzuki GSXR600) was stolen and recovered the same day. Helms & Hill towed it to their towing yard as they have a contract with the L.A. Sheriffs Department of Pico Rivera. However, the California Highway Patrol/Vehicle Report stated it was not "wrecked," "burned," "vandalized," amongst other positive conditions on the check-off list--essentially, the motorcycle was in the condition of the report. When I saw it, it was wrecked and vandalized, plugs everywhere, their towing methods for a motorcycle are inexperienced; it was junk, in my opinion. The manager was not reasonable nor helpful. She personalized my questions to be accusatory, and there was absolutely no communication! Their price to release my motorcycle for less than 12 hours was $560. This towing company may have a contract with the Sheriffs Department and could be reputable, but what was on paper was an abuse of business etiquette, practice and they topped it off with unprofessionalism and disrespect! read more

This place seems like it's good but is very unprofessional. Jessica is a con artist. She gave me 3 different reasons why i was getting charged a towing charge even when i have triple A , she had disregarded my service call and marked it down as a drive up service call instead of a Triple A call. she tried to say my vehicle was taken by CHP and on the freeway. which both were not true but finally after 2 hours of talking to triple A on the phone and this towing place, they finally gave in to not give me towing charge because i have triple A. so she resorted to adding 1 more day to my storage fee to help them recope the $300 loss from not bein able to scam me because i didn't hold back jessica was very unhelpful she just wants money out of you and will make you feel like you're an issue and holding a line up when there's only one person in there. she will not tell you the best or cheapest way to go about things. she even went as far as telling the mechanic that i refused to pay which is untrue. Very unprofessional place. It's family owned it sucks they need a LOT of improvement. lady at the front desk doesn't even know what to say to you she needs her manager every single time and then they wonder why there's a line. read more
