However, before I was physically able to shift out of Park, the operator began violently pulling/dragging my vehicle forward. Because the transmission was still locked in Park, the sudden extreme mechanical stress caused a very loud, metallic "pop" to echo from the undercarriage. Immediately following this impact, automotive fluid began heavily pouring out from underneath the vehicle. immediately contacted both the driver and the tow company office to report the severe property damage caused by the operator's negligence. Both parties flatly refused to take accountability. When speaking to the owner named Jose , he dismissed my claim entirely. Jose stated that he "deals with people like me all the time" and told me that I am "not going to get my way." While Jose acknowledged that the damage "could be the transmission," he aggressively denied all company liability.

I called a few places listed here on yelp and after a few ridiculous quotes I called Mauro with All Service Roadside. Mauro showed up within a few minutes and after testing the battery he said that I would have to purchase a new one as it was not holding charge. Mauro made a few calls and tried to get the best price on a battery for us and was able to get the car up and running within an hour with a great price on a new battery. Mauro also took the time to check the oil and coolant and inspected the check engine light as well. I would highly recommend All Service Roadside to everyone on yelp. The tow truck driver "Ali" treated my motorcycle with care and loaded my bike and brought it to my home. The next day August 22nd my motorcycle had to be taken to the shop. The driver "Rod" hooked up my motorcycle totally different than Ali. My Victory Vision has tow points that are dedicated to minimizing damage. Rod ignored them initially and began going for my forks. I stopped him. He argued that he'd been doing this for years. He connected the bike, torqued it so much and cranked down on it so much it bent and cracked my kickstand. I suspect he's been damaging bikes in the past. After loading it he exercised the flat bed back and forth in a jerking action. I will never use this company for motorcycle towing ever again. Their trucks are not prepared for non wrecked bikes. They will damage your bike if they are summoned to tow it.

Clearly, I was wrong. We returned to an empty space and a knot in my stomach. A quick call to the local police confirmed it: towed. They told me it wasn't a city-initiated tow and to call the towing company directly. I did, and the man who answered (polite tone, light accent) confirmed the car was in route to their yard and would be ready in 20 minutes. He also let me know I'd be paying $485. We drove over and arrived at a hard-to-spot location off Valley Blvd. The setup was typical of these types of places--intimidating signage warning of dogs and firearms, a narrow gate, and a small window for human interaction. The guy working wasn't the same person I spoke to on the phone. He told me the car had been at their lot for less than an hour--apparently, we missed it by 10 minutes. I asked if the overnight fee could be waived. He got on the phone to check, but the answer was no. The moment the car passes through their gate, the full charge kicks in. And since I paid with a card, there was an additional fee, bringing the total to $501.97. At that point, what can you do? He checked my license, verified the registration, and brought the car around. I noticed a sign stating you can request documentation for your tow, so I asked. He said it would be available Monday. I followed up, and after a couple of calls, a woman eventually texted me photos of the paperwork. But here's the part that doesn't add up: the tow form requires the signature of the person authorizing the tow. The woman said it was signed by the owner of Rick's Diner. Problem is, the diner closes at 3pm, and this happened after 10pm. Unless the owner just hangs around at night authorizing tows (doubtful), I'm not sure how that checks out. To their credit, the staff was polite--but let's be honest, they know they're dealing with people in a frustrating, powerless situation. The real issue is the system that allows this to happen so easily. $500+ for parking in a closed business lot for a couple hours? It's legal, sure--but that doesn't make it right. I got my car back, but left feeling like the whole thing was more about profit than policy. If this happens to someone without the immediate funds, I can't imagine the stress it would cause. It's the kind of situation that sticks with you--and not in a good way.
