I would highly caution using Helping Hands Moving & Maids. I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with this company. We scheduled movers for 8:30 AM. By 8:40 AM, no one had arrived, so I reached out and received no response. The movers did not arrive until just before 10:00 AM, with no communication or apology regarding the delay. The move was completed at approximately 11:26 AM, yet we were still charged $495 for a full 3-hour minimum. Had they arrived at the agreed-upon appointment time, the job likely would have been much closer to the timeframe they charged for. Instead, we were billed for time during which no services were being provided. When I attempted to discuss the issue, Charles became argumentative and unwilling to reasonably address my concerns. Comments I left on the Venmo transaction were deleted, and my negative review was also removed. There was also very little documentation or transparency regarding the billing terms or transaction. Their response also stated that Tooele was "46 miles away," but if distance was an issue, the job should not have been accepted or should have been scheduled appropriately. Overall, this experience felt extremely unprofessional and poorly handled. I would strongly encourage others to use caution before hiring this company. read more

I would strongly caution anyone considering using Helping Hands Movers and Maids. After my move, one of their movers contacted me the following day to say a box had been accidentally left in the truck overnight. He returned it the next day. Unfortunately, that box contained a chest with several dozen silver rounds and 64 vintage Mexican pesos (high silver content) with both significant monetary and sentimental value, as they were given to me by my late father. When the chest was returned, the Mexican coins were no longer inside. Additionally, during the move, members of the crew repeatedly asked if they could keep items I was moving. That is highly unprofessional and raised concerns for me even before discovering the missing contents. I treated the crew well and tipped them generously, which makes this situation even more disappointing. At a minimum, this reflects extremely poor chain-of-custody practices and a lack of accountability for customer property. I would strongly advise anyone using this company to avoid placing any valuables in their care and to thoroughly inventory all items before and after the move. read more

Never use there facility parking. Completely unattended for two hours, they allowed a white Tesla and a Toyota to block a bunch of people in the lot. We were stuck for two hours, and they were unable to be reached. read more

Dakota, robert, damen are the best! Super efficient. They are careful. They went above and beyond. I would highly recommend them for all your moving needs. Better than other moving companies I've worked with in the valley. I do not recommend working with this company solely because the owner isn't receptive to an honest review or feedback. Giving 1 star because I ran into scheduling issues with the person on the phone. I was told a time that wasn't accurate, reassured they'd come at noon, which also got pushed back. I was told I'd hear from the movers before they arrived but did not. I appreciate that they support working from home, but there were screaming children in the background. Left feedback that in the reminder messages they should remind the time in addition to the day. An emailed quote in advance would've also been beneficial as there was a price difference in the end. The owner called me to apologize. Didn't hear me out. Kept interrupting me rather than listen to my feedback. Is convinced I have a bad review due to the noise in the background (it's not, it was having to rearrange my schedule due to a lack of communication). He made it clear he needed to have the last say while I try to complain. Not a good look for a business owner. Full disclosure, he did give me a $75 discount, but I was told the job would be a 3 hour minimum (took us 2 hours) for $575. It ended up being more than that and I still haven't received an invoice. Its been 3 months and they still haven't refunded me an item that was broken during the move. It was an accident and was agreed to be refunded but haven't heard anything back. Our movers Jim and James were great and worked really hard, but the office could have also sent more than 2 people to help since it took all day. read more

We hired a team of 3 to pack a 27ft semi truck trailer for a long distance move. Things seemed to be going well. Unfortunately, towards the end I was told it was packed as tightly as possible and that not even my broom could squeeze in. At that point the bulwark wall was already in place at the end of the truck so I had to trust everything was as they reported. I thanked them and paid. After they left I ordered a second trailer to be delivered for the odds and ends at couldn't fit (parts of beds, pieces of various shelving units, etc) A couple days later when the second semi arrived, my neighbor was there and asked to have the wall taken down to see if anything else could fit. We were shocked to see how much time was left (see photo.) While the full 27 linear feet was used, it was not packed high and a lot still fit. In fact my neighbor got everything we still had with room to spare. It's worth noting that he rearranged the back quarter of the truck as there were gaps between things. I would have paid an additional 2k+ for a second trailer because of the movers' dishonesty that "not even a broom could fit." What was just as disconcerting was the way my complaint was handled. I was rudely talked over and argued with and despite photos told that my story was wrong (basically that I was lying) because all 3 crew members reported that I told them to stop loading because I was over budget and couldn't use more footage. We never talked about money or any footage limits. This makes no sense as I was already paying for the entire truck and ordered a second. He was rude and dismissive and accusatory. I don't know where to start. My daughter has some health problems and needed help moving the big furniture in her apartment. Their contract stated that they would wrap the furniture. Not only did they not wrap things (besides my washer & dryer) they ruined my leather sectional. My husband was a rep for United Van Lines so we know firsthand what it takes to properly pack and move high value furniture. When I saw the damage that was done to her new sectional I was shocked. It is completely ruined and cut up Because they failed to wrap it AND they had no idea what they were doing when carrying it through the front door. They are ignoring our calls and passing off blame to someone "with a higher pay grade." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! WARNING!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I have never seen a company that cares less about their customers. We had a nightmare experience on moving day. We paid for 6 movers only received 4 movers. They got smoke, dirt and BLOOD all over our belongings and furniture and mattress. They were extremely disrespectful to my entire family throughout the day. They moved slowly, since we were paying by the hour, and had no reason or motivation to work hard and get the job done. Everything they took apart was completely ruined, missing pieces. We were forced to pay $1900 bill at the end of the night, and left with most of the moving to do still on our own. We were told to speak with the owner the next day, about receiving any type of refund for the damages and problems. We have now spent 4 days trying to get in touch with the owner, and finally was able to speak with him today. The owner was only interested in fighting with us, even as we calmly tried to tell him we are only giving them the opportunity to make this right with us as his customer. He told us, since we didn't purchase insurance, they were not willing to compensate us for our nightmare experience. Not even an apology. He blamed my kids for all the damage. Not exactly sure how my kids could even be capable of the damage. I understand we are all human, and mistakes happen. BUT!! THE OWNER OF THIS COMPANY HAS NO INTEREST IN CARING FOR HIS CUSTOMERS. Solid choice for move! Diego and Amber came to help us unload coming from Dallas Texas. I drove a 26' Penske truck here with my F350 packed to the limits. Unloaded in Sugar House and I was so thankful, impressed and grateful to our moving pros as the man and woman tag team rocked out the truck and boxes without , that's right , not one broken anything or scratch they were the Shiz. My experience with Helping Hands started off great! I came to them last minute to help with a move and they figured out a way to be able to help. They were very accommodating, going to multiple locations to pick up different things. That's the reason I am giving them 2 stars. The reason I am so unhappy is the aftermath. Once I got to unpacking, I realized that the glass surface to my desk never made it to the new home. I went back to check the storage unit where the desk was: nothing, it was completely empty. I sent a message to one of the guys that actually did the move, asking if he knows what happened to it, and he never responded. I then contacted the office, and they told me they'd check and get back to me, and never did. Helping Hands is the only one who moved anything from that storage unit, so they either lost it or broke it, and are now avoiding the situation. I was impressed when I called and scheduled movers. The price was on point and the person I spoke with was knowledgeable and courteous. I was given an hourly quote with a three hour minimum. I was moving from one Utah location to another withing the same city, about 10 minutes away. The movers showed up a few minutes late, not a big deal. However, they showed up with no tools. We were in the process of moving and had everything already boxed up and most of the boxes had been moved already. They were only moving the larger furniture pieces so we had to search for tools. The two men who were sent were nice, but not professional movers, which is what I paid for. Nearly everything they moved they had questions on, had a problem getting apart or needed help from my husband. We hired movers because we did not want to move the large pieces. They were unable to get two of my beds apart. One they were able to get moved to my new home without taking it apart, but not up to my new room. The movers said we would need to contact the company we purchased the bed from and have them come and take it apart. It ended up requiring several screws to be removed and we were able to get it moved that evening without their assistance. They did provide a discount on the overall price due to not being able to move one bed at all and not getting the other in place. When the movers were moving my refrigerator down the stairs they let it slip and it damaged my entryway wall. I called and spoke with the lady who answered the phone, sent pictures of the damage and she indicated they would refund $75 for the damage. I never received the $75. More than anything I'm frustrated that it took so long to move. I felt like I was hiring professional movers, and they would have been able to do the job much more quickly had they sent more experienced employees. Where it was an hourly paid job, it seemed the employees were slow and took extra time so it cost more money. read more

Cody from Helping Hands is very responsive and his movers worked rather quickly, which are the only two reasons they aren't getting one star. That said, they ruined a significant amount of our furniture and for that, I can't give them more than two stars. In fact, I would have been okay with them working more slowly if that meant less damage to our things. Here is the letter I wrote to Cody: "It's been about a week and a half and we've finally gotten a chance to go through everything from the move. My husband and I have moved quite a few times in the last few years and we've suffered more damage to our belongings than we've ever experienced in the past. Any time we move we expect a certain amount of damage-- dents, scratches, etc. Anything that we packed ourselves, if it broke, we accept it as our responsibility (such as broken plates, cracked picture frames and so on) and we accept it as part of the collateral in a move. What really upset us was that there was clearly damage that was done by the movers during loading and then hid. For example, there is a significant tear (about 6-7 inches) on our new couch that the movers then covered in a blanket and wrapped up. The same for a sideboard that didn't just get dented or scratched (which we would have been okay with), but was torn to chunks on the side and again, covered with a blanket. These are the most obvious examples of intentional disregard for our things, and doesn't include the breaking of our record player table and a number of other things. We're not asking for anything from you, but did want you to know that we are extremely disappointed with the service provided by your movers and we are paying dearly for the poor work they did." read more

We hired them to move from a 2bed apt to a 3bed apt, littery 3 blocks from where we currently were (Riverton to bluffdale) quoted 300.00 for 2 hours of work not bad I thought. At the end of 2 hours we were charged 400.00 We had everything except the couches and the beds already set up outside for them, When they were loading and un-hauling our stuff they were not careful, the dropped my wife's Concentrator (oxygen machine) We did help carry in mutable of the items, so we did not have eyes on them the whole time witch turned out to be a huge mistake, they stole mutable items from us. Random things.. 2 bags full of clothes & towels A wooden mirror (worth quite a bit of money) A brand new humidifier still in box Along with a few other things, We called and complained, They said they would contact the owner and call us right back, They are refusing to answer out calls now!!! I had Kyle, Evan, and Spencer help Me move today and I was not impressed. Maybe had they not stopped to get water and energy drinks on time that I had to pay for, weren't wrestling, yelling and messing around in my house, and didn't stop to flirt with me every five minutes - they could have been done in much less time. Spencer was professional and hard working and was the only one out of the three who actually came here to work and do what I was paying them to do... The other two were friendly and helped (when they weren't messing around and yelling)  - but they were so unprofessional and slowed down the process tremendously (for example: putting a mattress down at the bottom of the stairs and asking me if it went downstairs or upstairs AFTER I already had told them where it went and KNOWING there is no bedroom on the main floor... then laughing and punching each other). read more

If you actually want your movers to move you then do not use this joint. After confirming my pick up window 2 days prior to my scheduled date they started blowing me off. They knew first thing in the morning that they didn't have a driver for my move. But they didn't call me, after they were really late I called them. Then they started putting me off and only time we communicated is if I called them. Guys on the phone were completely rude and unhelpful and seemed super annoyed that I was stressed out about them not showing up. I asked multiple times if they were actually going to come move me that day and never got a straight answer. If they had just told me they were blowing me off that day I could have not wasted an entire day PLUS started to make other arrangements PLUS had to pay to stay in my place an additional night because THE MOVERS GHOSTED ME. Last communication with these guys was at 4:15pm and I never heard from them again. I asked for manager and owner and was told (they're not in the shop in the evening) but it was middle of the work day. Horrendous company-do not use. I found these guys on another review/referral website, along with some other movers. This was the ONLY company that bothered to reply within 24 hours of my message requesting a quote. Cody promptly answered all of my questions over the next week. We ended up booking them simply because of their follow through and professionalism. The move was a few weeks later, and the movers showed up ON TIME! Whoa. The two guys got right to work, and had the truck packed up super fast. They took care with our delicate furniture. Not only did they pack up the house in record time, but they even went over to our storage unit and picked up a few things, all with a great attitude. They unpacked the truck just as speedily, and every single box and piece of furniture ended up in the right place and nothing was damaged. The pricing was reasonable, and no nonsense. There were no hidden charges. They charge a simple flat rate and you get two guys, a 26ft truck, gas, mileage and moving equipment. They were great-- we booked them last min. They were awesome and scheduled us out the next day, and were flexible with our schedule. They don't require anything down to book which is a plus, most moving companies require a credit card deposit. They are less expensive than other companies which was a big reason why we booked them They showed up and were very efficient with moving and were very careful with our stuff. Cody and Joey did a great job. The only complaint I have is that they have a yelp deal for $90 for $100 -- this would be awesome if they honored it-- after we did the move the owner said they wouldn't do it unless I had of bought it before the move and told them the redemption code before I booked them-- stupid. Great team - handled my move very well, on-time and courteous. We made an appointment and they were very flexible with the time changes. Once fella smelled like he smoked a pack per hour, so much that he made the UHaul smell. The only other issue was the boxes labeled "Super Fragile" were packed upside down in the truck, and the one labeled "TV - Careful!" was jammed into a corner. I chose this moving company because they had good reviews on Google. However our experience with them has been beyond unprofessional and terrifying. Two of the three men who were hired got into a fist fight within a few minutes of showing up for the move. One guy stripped off his belt and started whipping the other guy with it. Little female 5'3 me had to go outside and break up the fight. Mr Old fashioned belt Daddy walked off the job, so now we were only left with two movers, so it took more time to move everything to my new home. Additionally, my dryer fell off the ramp of the truck and was completely destroyed. This move was 2 months ago, and Kristin, the manager, has continuously dodged our calls. She will not return our dryer, nor reimburse me, nor provide a new dryer. She wants to give me $150 for a $700 dryer that her crew broke. That offer was more than 3 weeks ago and I have not heard back from her. Do yourself a favor and don't sign the paperwork. If they break something they will avoid you until you hopefully go away. I've reported them to the Utah department of commerce and I'm taking them to small claims court. read more

This company is really great! This is the second time I have used them for a move, and they are very fast and friendly. They are especially good for around the town moves. First let me say what an amazing experience I had with the guys who came to move my things. So fast, Courtous and wonderful ! They made a hard day so much easier for me! I give them 5 plus stars! Thanks guys! Mr Chad in the office is another matter. I have used this company twice before and have been over the moon about the work they do. I was quoted 300.00 dollars for 3 hours. It was what I paid last time for a harder, longer move. It was a year ago so I was cool with that. The move took 3 hours and 10 minutes. I was billed 455.00 dollars. I spoke with a manager who completely dismissed all I said and after speaking with a manager he would take 40 dollars off. Thanks Chad. Not a good time to price gouge. I called and was helped immediately. They book on the day and time I requested. They called that morning and confirmed the appointment and arrival times. Three great guys hard workers who were concerned about my stuff. Did a great job wrapping and packing. They were loaded up in just over an hour. Great on communication and talking to me. I was very happy. Less than three hours to do the whole job. Three guys were great and I would recommend it. Some how I miss understood the quote so I will clarify it so anyone else using the service wont be surprised. They charge 15 to get there and 15 minutes back PLUS a minimum of 3 hours. I was thinking my 30 of travel was included in the 3 hours but it is not. So plan on $45 for the travel and the 3 hour min of $270. So plan a minimum of $330.00 and you will be fine. I know this might sound petty but I had planned on the $270 and 3 hours so I paid for my storage unit for 3 months. when your moving funds get mighty tight .I would have paid for one month at the storage shed instead of three had I known. I also had no funds for a tip and these guys deserved it They were totally awesome and some how I will figure out how to get it to them Sadly on Thursday when we moved I had just over 300 dollars in my account. I have used Helping Hands Moving company two separate times over the past three years. They are always so helpful. This time they moved me from a 3 story townhouse and did not damage my walls or anything and it has a tight staircase with a turn. They navigated it with my washer and dryer, and king size bed. I rented the largest storage unit available and they were able to arrange it so that all of my stuff fit. I will definitely use them again when my house is done. read more

This review is primarily for the 4 young men who, employed by "helping hands", helped me move. You guys were supposed to receive an $80 tip to split evenly. If you didn't receive your tip, know that I am sorry and I have learned my lesson. I will tip in cash in the future. The second part of this review is for the poor billing practices and the worst 'customer service' I have ever experienced. First thing that was "off" to me was the fact that 4 guys showed up. I had scheduled based on what the guy who "quoted" me originally said - $340 which includes tax and everything for two guys for 3 hours. I even asked if extra insurance could be purchased but he insisted this included "everything" unless you go over the 3 hours. So I'm not sure if sending 4 movers was a blatant disregard from my original conversation with the sales guy or what, but I will probably never know. Each of the four guys helping me move that day greeted me with an introduction and handshake. I was thoroughly impressed. If I could Yelp review these guys, they would get 5 starts. Overall, the moving part went great. The only delay was from me actually... I still hadn't gotten the key for my new apartment, so I sent a text to the movers to let them know they could take a breather once they got to my new apartment. it would be ~ 15 mins before I could meet them with the key. To my surprise, when I met them at my unit (probably more like 20 mins after I sent that text) they had already gotten some of my furniture moved to the door of my unit. At one point during the 3 hours we were together, I even overheard one of them telling another to pick up the pace because he knew I was in a hurry. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with their work ethic. We ended the move somewhere between 11am and 11:10. I know this based on text messages I had sent to a friend who I was supposed to be leaving town with that afternoon. I dont know if this is standard for moving companies, but this company has you pay over the phone without seeing a copy of your bill or itemized moving charges, tax, tip add on etc. When we were finished, Myself and the four movers, sat around for a good 15 + minutes waiting for the office person to answer their phone so I could pay. They explained I wouldn't be charged for this waiting time, which I appreciated (and quite frankly expected). Once we got the office guy to pick up, I agreed to add on an$80 tip to split evenly among the four movers. I gave my card info to pay the bill. At this point we got disconnected, so I had one of the movers call him back. I never continued the conversation with the guy at the office... The mover who had called him back just relayed the message to me that I was all squared away. I naively assumed my bill was ~$420 for the $340 plus $80 tip...Maybe slightly more since I didn't know the exact start and stop time. On Sunday 8/28 I noticed my bank account had $640 and some change as my charge from helping hands movers. This was a bit of a shock, so I gave them a call on Monday. Recognizing my haste to get the job done and not asking these questions at the time of my move, I genuinely was calling to get an understanding/itemized breakdown of my bill. The conversation I had with the person representing this company was embarrassingly disrespectful. I don't think he let me complete a full sentence except for maybe my first, in which I asked about receiving an itemized receipt. In effort to stick to the facts, I will spare the hear-say of this conversation, but the feeling it left me with was familiar to emotional abuse. There were a few things that he said to me that stuck out as exceptionally odd. 1. They don't provide invoice or receipts until after the move...? Its been over two weeks, and I still have yet to receive anything... That just seems odd and not right 2. He said they don't "quote" people... So my original "quote" for $340 was basically irrelevant. 3. He confirmed my move time was just slightly over 3 hours in which they didn't charge me for the extra few minutes. However, he didn't confirm start and stop time, so I don't know what times he is basing this off of. 4. He ended up agreeing to credit me $75. He also asked if I would like the $80 tip refunded to me. My response was no, and that the guys who helped me move had nothing to do with the problem. His response was a defensive and bazaar "yes they did." My final question to him, after agreeing to the $75 credit was, why did 4 movers show up when I originally was "quoted or sales pitched or whatever it's called" (my verbatim reference) two movers for 3 hours for $340? His reply was simply that it must've been a glitch in their system... A few days later, I had a credit to my bank account for $80. So either you guys were generous and threw on an extra $5 credit, or you took your tip away from your own employees...
