Went to the Redlands Public Market to see what they offered. The place is pretty large, different types of food. Stopped at the Hen & Heifer and ordered the Classic Burger with onion rings. The burger was delicious, well seasoned and cooked to my liking. Came with their special sauce and grilled onions. The onion rings were made in house, and were very good! Mercy Day! This is a good burger! A friend suggested I try H/H for their hand formed patties and outstanding fries. I was not disappointed! The burger was SOOO good. Lots of options for add ons, the freshest ingredients ,a butt ton of freshly cooked fries and all for just a couple bucks more than the fast food joint on the corner. Do not compromise.... We shared a Pastrami with fries. It was plenty of food. The sandwich didn't hold together. The pepper wasn't cooked enough and pulled everything out of the sandwich. So I removed the pepper. It needs spicy mustard. The fries were excellent fresh cut. The service was good and we sat outside in enjoyed our dinner. read more

Just fine.. This was our first time at the market. My teen wanted a burger, so I decided to try one too. She really enjoyed hers, but mine was just fine. Maybe with more toppings, it would've been great, but the basic is just that. Fries also need some salt, but they give you enough to share between 2 people, so that was nice. read more

Tried this place last night while we were in the area because it reminded me us of the croft... it's definitely not the same not even close... the narcissist burger looked promising but was just too messy and not much flavor and the little kim fries was too sweet , had to much hoisin sauce.. it was just overwhelming the whole dish... also the egg was over cooked and rubbery..to make matters worst, the cashier charge us for an item we didn't order and was trying to convince us to take it not give us a refund... but eventually said he was going to refund us... portions are big but just not good.... read more

Our first time at Redlands Public Market I was super excited to try it! My cousin was playing in the band for Saturday Night Live Music. I am the type to look up a restaurant and see pictures before I go to a place. I got the classic burger (It was good! It was a bit busy so I want to try to give them that) we also got onion rings, and a coke. I asked for an extra pickles on the side and the cashier ringing us up did not repeat our order nor offered a receipt. I was confuse don why it was $40 for a "basic" meal of burger onion rings and drink! That's when another employee and him switched so I asked for a receipt and realized he charged me for a side salad I didn't ask for. Also the Signal there is so bad, I never got my text to confirm or anything. I had to log onto the WiFi 3 times before it finally texted me my order had been ready 5-10 mins ago. When i got there I explained I didn't want the side salad and the process to refund me was rough so I just opted to get 2 water bottles which was the price of a side salad. Overall Onion rings were fresh, crispy batter to onion ratio was great. Ranch tasted homemade, burger was good and hearty. I'm just a stickler on not having sticky hands and the OIL was dripping from the holder. But I would eat here again; I would try other places first but overall a good burger! read more

I'll give 5 however here's my take. A little more of friendly staff, mediocre. Def needs better bev selection, considering the rest of ROM doesn't unless you get a bar bev. Ordered the standard burger- bun was great burger was flavorful I just feel like something was missing from it, however the size is filling and the burger is juicy. Chili fries are good but were given on the cool side would probably been better if were given hot. Over all it was good. read more

The food at Hen and Heifer is always really good, which is why we kept coming back we've been repeat customers about seven times. Unfortunately, the service just keeps letting us down. The staff often just stare at you without even a smile, and most of the time they're on their AirPods instead of paying attention. When the owner is there, things feel much better, but when he's not, it's a completely different experience. Thank God we found another spot in the food hall to try, because as much as we love the food, the service has made us decide we probably won't be coming back. read more

This gem is located inside of the Redlands Public Market. The space itself is loud and a little overstimulating, but it's a food hall, so it's to be expected. Back to the food. Zucchini fries. Just pay the $11 and do it, because you will not be disappointed. A very kind woman was working when I showed up for lunch and their menu stuck out to me. While they do specialize in beef (the burgers coming out were crazy) I opted for a chicken sandwich with a poblano pepper and a delicious spicy sauce. I lowkey want to order more zucchini fries. No need to travel to Victorville for one of the best burgers in California. Hen & Heifer is disguised as the famous "Apollo Burgers." Same exact menu with same quality tastes. This is not for the faint of stomachs. Their patties are thick, juicy and made to your preference of how well you want it cooked. The Belgian fries are piled mountain high and cooked with fresh potatoes. A large menu with variety of options and unique combinations. I asked for medium burger and it was mostly well done but the scary part was it was leaking red/pink on the wrapper. I decided to toss it, I had to leave for my movie and after 2 bites I decided I didn't want to deal with it. The center of the patty was cooler than the edge so I was afraid it was undercooked. Incredible very fresh ingredients tons to eat, excellent kind service helpful and sweet attitudes, The BEST was the combo onion rings and zucchini. I've had a lot in my day and Rhee were not just fresh but so lightly fried almost no oil when eating and the coating was crisp and light the ranch dip is homemade with I think tarragon or something delicious. I ordered the pastrami and zucchini. The price for the portions is pretty high. It was $20 for just the pastrami sandwich. Then the meat in the sandwich was quite cold like they didn't warm it up enough. Only the bread was warm. For that price, it should have at least been hot. The zucchini were really soggy and had no flavor. I had to ask for salt to make them more edible. I have tried the burgers previously and they were good although pricey but I was super disappointed in my food today. I probably won't be back and don't recommend either of these items. read more

Their food is good. There is no denying that, but the service and the timing leave ALOT to be desired. I get you can have fast food, or good food but you can't have both. On my visit today in what I would expect is a reasonable time for them to make my food ( more than 10 mins), they text me to tell me my order is done, only to tell me that they don't have rolls so what type of bread for my sandwich. I pick a substitution... to have them tell me they will now text me when my order is done. My daughter ordered AND ate her food from two separate stalls before I even got my food. read more

Alright the prices are expensive. Ordered the standard pastrami and chill cheese fries came out to like $33 bucks. Service was okay. Asked for yellow peppers and they don't have any. Could have suggested jalapeños but no. Ambiance is cool. I mean you are at a public market so you're basically people watching. I don't know my pastrami was nothing special. and the chili cheese fries were subpar for the cost . Same meal at The Hat would cost you about $16 bucks. Just my opinion.. read more

Amazing burger . Went to the Redlands location and ordered the Narcissist burger with parmesan fries and it was exceptionally good. Great service on the cashiers end , she took the time to explain the process and she explained that they use fresh meats and ingredients. You can truly taste the freshness. Came here for the first time on a sunday night. Had one of the best steak salads i've ever eaten and i'm a very picky person , so if i'm happy after a salad , then it must be really good. My dinner companion was very pleased with his burger and his Buffalo fries topped with blue cheese. The customer service was awesome, which is why this is a tough review to leave. Unfortunately, the burger itself was extremely salty and honestly unenjoyable -- not even ketchup could save it. The zucchini fries were actually pretty good and fried to perfection, but I wish they gave more ranch. Two small cups felt a bit skimpy, especially since I did pay extra for sauce. My total was around $31 for the burger, zucchini fries, and a Coke, plus a $5 tip because the staff was great. That puts it close to $40, which is disappointing when the main item wasn't enjoyable. I really wanted to like this place because the service was solid, but the food just didn't match the price this time. read more

When sipping the coffee through the straw, chunks of peanut butter were coming up and separating in my mouth, leaving an odd texture. I attempted to stir the drink as much as possible, but was only able to finish a 1/4 of it. I'm wondering if hot would have been better for the blending of the peanut butter into the drink?! We would not order it again, nor the sausage sandwich.

The manager interrupted me while speaking, but was upset when I reciprocated that behavior. The owner told me to look up DoorDash and how they are a third party and why I need to deal with them. Which I don't need to look up as that is common sense. But I am putting this here so the manager can see he could look up on how to turn off DoorDash when they randomly close or are out of the country etc. I am very disappointed. All of this over 2 sandwiches. If I was called or the approach was different I wouldn't be leaving this review. "Yes, restaurant owners can turn off or pause DoorDash when closed using the Merchant Portal or tablet by selecting "Pause Store" or adjusting "Special Closures/Hours". First of all I'm sooo glad I didn't let the negative reviews stop me from trying this place. And I hope the owner / cooks took those concerns and fixed them. The experience I had was great. I ordered a basic burger but my hubby is more like a go big or go home kinda guy so he ordered the narcissist and we asked if order of fries would be good to share and he said more than enough. We waited maybe 10-15 min. Then it was time for the big reveal. Just by looking and smelling them I can hear my tummy saying " WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR" my husbands bacon was sooo tempting I had to steal a piece. Thick perfectly made bacon, I know what I'm adding to my next burger. Now let's sink our teeth into these bad boys. Wowzers. You can taste the quality inin everything. Our patties were cooked as requested and the fries were tasty. This place has officially received my BOMBSKIES STAMP. The food at Hen & Heifer is seriously good. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. But the real star for me was the fries. They're perfectly crisp and rich, and you can totally taste that beef tallow (or beef fat) they fry them in. Next-level flavor. Honestly, I'd come back just for those fries. The only thing that took it down a notch was the service. The staff seemed a little rushed or maybe just not in the best mood. Could've been an off day, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I had such a great experience at Hen & Heifer's in Redlands! The food was absolutely delicious -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth it. You can tell they really care about the quality of what they serve. The service was just as amazing. Melissa, the cashier, was super friendly and had such great customer service.
