I have had a few visits to Henczel's since my last barber closed up shop. Each time I get a haircut here, I am happy with the results. My hairstyle isn't complicated, but these guys have a keen attention to detail about their customers' wants, and it shows in their work. I received compliments about my haircut afterwards. The place has the feel of an old school barbershop that has been brought into the 21st century. And this doesn't stop at the decor, it also applies to the services they offer. I appreciate that they offer a straight razor shave, for instance. It can be hard to switch barbers, but if you're looking for someone new to cut your hair, give this place a visit. This is real folks, real local family business. Sue has been cutting my hair for 20 years now. She gave my daughter her first cut in an infant carrier. Her husband, Mike did most of my son's cuts when he was young. I appreciate the chats as much as the good haircut at a fair price. I only regret I wasn't here when it was her dad's place too. They take care of their people, and they are part of the community. This is still what Naperville was. Thre community that makes us want to live here. Much of that has been pushed out of this town by modern chains and big business. Let's hold onto what we still have. read more

I have been here three times. Only once have I actually been able to get a haircut. The price and cut are good. The wait is not. Today, I walked out after waiting an hour. The final straw was watching people being marked off the list, after my name. I ended up going to a nearby competitor and getting in and out in 20 minutes. read more

After one of their barbers left, I tried to find a different barbershop. After 3 ruined haircuts I thought I'd come back to this barbershop. I sat down with Mary who helped me figure out what I wanted to do with my hair a day after a previous barber left it looking in a very bad state. She was very patient, and really helped in figuring out what to do to make it to look better. Once she was done it looked amazing. Mike and Eduardo really went above and beyond to make our little guy's first haircut special.

Once haircut was inspected in proper lighting when I got home I noticed how bad it was. The sideburns weren't blended into beard just left. Where the straight razor was used in the back behind the ears was totally messed up, one side fine the other side more of angle and more hair taken off. Nice people but won't be going back. read more

This is a great barber shop. If you want your haircut to last and look good for a week you can go to a cheaper place. If you want to be papmered, you can go elsewhere. if you want a haircut to look good for a month and pay about $20 this is the place. read more

Took my grandsons here months ago and got two "highandtights"! They needed the work. For me, I got tired of the master barber scam arising in town! Not all of us have a full head! And I got tired of paying for someone's McMansion and the trip to Aruba! Today I went back for my second since CV19 eased; the first with Eduardo, today with Sue. I haven't had a cut so nice and reasonably priced since, well, years! I'll be back for sure; watch the bench out front and the day and time and you won't wait long. Henczel's has convinced me that men should go to a barber shop if they want a great hair cut. This is a traditional barber shop not a salon in barber shop's clothing. I received a great hair cut at a reasonable price. I will be going here for all my hair cuts. There was a line at 8 o'clock on a Saturday but there were five barbers there by 8:20 so there wasn't much of a wait. read more

This is a fantastic local business. Far superior to any hair cut I received at Supercuts, or those fancy hair salons that my wife used to send me to, that more or less focus on women's hair. This place is old-school. No shelves filled with expensive shampoo. Just comfortable barber chairs, and quick service. The price is reasonable as well. I've been to pricey salons, and the folks at Henczel's do just as good a job for a quarter of the cost. I've been to the cheap franchise places and regretted it. I visited Henczel's for the first time in December and I absolutely loved the experience that I had, so I had to write this review once I saw the listing on Yelp! Karen was my barber and outperformed any other Barber that I have given my business to over the years and I will continue to bring my business to Henczel's when I am in town. This is a great local business and one that we've been regulars at for a few years. The rating does not reflect the great experience we've have with the owners and Eduardo. It's only based on what we just experienced with Jeannette. She cut our three year olds hair and was completely unprofessional. She was on her phone for the first 5 minutes, barely listening to what we wanted. Then grabbed our sons head and forced it to the side to cut his hair way too short. We asked her to be a bit more gentle which she ignored, continuing to force his head down poking him in the eye with her comb and giving him a razor burn. Finally had to switch to Eduardo to try and fix the mess she made. Ended up having to leave with an unfinished cut bc our son was crying and traumatized. In the past, our son has always enjoyed getting his haircut here. Unfortunately we will no longer be customers. Stay away from Jeannette! read more
