The window lapsed and I checked in on the appointment and it turns out that a previous job had taken longer than expected. Look, I get it, it's plumbing, quite literally "you-know-what" happens. (that's a scatological euphemism in case you didn't notice) A mustachioed plumber named Russell arrived and was apologetic and cordial. Already feeling more at ease because he fully embraced the Super Mario motif, I directed him to the problem. While doing so, he let me know that the company has a policy for "broken promises" when it comes to punctuality and that I essentially had a credit for the day. He swiftly fixed the pipe and capped off a gas line that we had needed to have taken care of as part of the day's service. So here is the thing - quality of work and customer service were fantastic. The lateness is disappointing, but any company that has a policy to address tardiness and honors said policy the way Russell and Benjamin Franklin did - is a company I'd use again.

Andy came quickly and removed a clog that had been causing us problems since we bought the house several years ago. That sink is still flowing freely thanks to Andy. One day, our plumbing started to "whistle." When the irrigation system turned on after the whistling began, it ruptured the line causing a massive leak. Andy to the rescue! He came, assessed the situation, determined our pressure valve had failed, and set to work fixing the issue. His work is fast and high quality. The problem was solved within a day, and our plumbing is as quiet as ever. We needed a replacement water heater as ours was 17 years old and was showing signs that it may fail soon. We decided to replace it with a heat pump water heater as we have full solar generation, and the old water heater was heated by natural gas. Andy checked the types of heaters available before we settled on a product. Andy got the permit and we replaced the water heater with no further issues. It works great and we are using less energy to heat our water now due to the high efficiency of the heat pump water heater. We had a backed-up drain from our washing machine that was causing water to back up into our…read moreutility sink. I first tried snaking it myself with a 15-foot snake, but it was still backing up. I then hired two other plumbers to come out and snake it, and neither was successful. One of them even told me I needed to redo a good portion of my plumbing for over $5,000! I found Rock Solid Drains after that, and they told me that all they do is unclog drains and that they have the equipment necessary to clear difficult washer/utility sink drain clogs. John from their team came out and within about 15-30 minutes had run a snake through our washing machine drain line, cleared the blockage, and had our plumbing working exactly as it should again. These guys are great if you have a drain clog that you can't clear yourself or that a normal plumber doesn't have the right equipment to handle. They solved a problem that two other plumbers couldn't, and did it for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Rock Solid Drains. John was great to work with, and I'm very glad we called them before spending thousands of dollars unnecessarily!
