Reasonable rates and they use quality materials. When they don't specialize in something related to the project (e.g. electrical or radiant heat) they have good contacts and can arrange for them to come out. We worked with Jordan. He installed a new kitchen faucet, a thermal expansion tank and an on demand hot water heater. The finished job was clean and precise. They anticipated and took care of the little details I hadn't thought of like matching the caps on the sink holes and replacing worn out seals in the drain that would eventually cause problems. I'm glad I found Zach from Exact! A small and old water heater in a rental unit went out (again) and the plumber who fixed it 6 months ago could not come back. I tried 3 more plumbers and one wouldn't touch it, and one said I had to replace it with an 'on demand' for $13k, then Zach fixed it quickly for $500 plus parts. (Not cheap ... but beat the alternatives!!!!). He was very perceptive, communicative, and helpful. He noticed a fire hazard related to the recurrence of the water heater trouble that none of the other four had called out. Zack was great! I had some plumbing issues he came and checked on. One was there was a very loud banging inside the bathroom wall when the shower was turned on. I envisioned cutting into walls to find the problem. But Zack had a hunch that it was the cartridge in the on/off valve (I didn't even know there was a cartridge in there!). He replaced it and the banging is gone! He also helped me find a backup battery for our sump pump to keep it running when electricity goes out. I asked for a backup sump pump to be installed. Zack was helpful trouble shooting the options with me over the phone. He was excellent in person and did the work properly. When the back up sump pump I purchased wasn't working well due to no fault of my own, he helped me trouble shoot again on a weekend phone call. First of all, I had found Exact Plumbing by way of another plumber who had a top rated yelp review. The first plumber wasn't available and personally recommended Zach and made the call for me. No sooner did I hang up from the first plumber, Zach called back asking how he could help me. He was very appreciative of the referral, heard me out on what I needed and set an appointment time of when he could come out. I called around 2:00pm on a Tuesday and was given a window of 4:00-6:00pm. Zach also set the expectation that if he couldn't perform the entire repair today; he'd cap things off so that I could turn the water on and he'd be back tomorrow to finish the repair. As for the repair; I had set out this morning to remove the shower valve innards and replace all of the washers and gaskets. Unfortunately, the valve had other ideas and broke off as I was trying to remove the cover for the Delta innards. As soon as I saw what I had done, I knew I needed a plumber! Zach and his personable assistant arrived just after 5:15pm, prepared and ready to tackle my plumbing problem. I took them to the scene; our shower stall, where you could see my lovely handy-work. After a quick assessment, he prepared a written estimate that was fair and said that he could complete the work w/in two hours. He also mentioned that after our initial call, he decided to make a stop at his supply house to pick up a new Moen shower valve; just-in-case he could get the job done on one visit. After reviewing and approving the estimate and statement of work, Zach and his assistant made the repairs. They did so in less than the two hours, they were neat and clean and the work was performed in a very satisfactory manner. In reviewing the work after it had been completed, I agreed with Zach that because of how the previous owner had done the initial installation, I was very glad that I called a capable plumber to make the repair. So Happy with these guys! I needed a new water heater and was seriously considering a tankless. Boy, dealing with plumbers is, well, interesting. One company tried to jack the price up another $300 to 500 from what they said when they came out and another company came out and said I wasn't a candidate for a tankless. What? I had already talked to a few other plumbers. It is outside Then they started saying everything that "might" need to be done. Well, duh, that's what I was trying to get a price on. It was clear they didn't want to do it so I cut the conversation short thanking them for their time. Never try to talk someone into doing a job it will show in the end. So a plumber who doesn't come out to my area recommended Exact. They came out that day (Wednesday, Sept 17), gave me a price, couldn't understand why the other plumber said I wasn't a candidate saying I was well set up for this. I had new water lines, electric right there, propane tank right there etc. Said they could do it Friday. They called Friday to tell me when they were on their way and from where. They came, they installed, they cleaned up everything, they conquered the "not a good candidate" in just a few hours. They had me check and turn on all the hot water in the house at once NO PROBLEMS. Full hot water at all points at the same time. In addition they were friendly, personable and professional. They communicated with me through the whole process. Exact did a fantastic job in a short amount of time. We were given three options to solve our plumbing issues. We opted for the biggest fix which is best in the long run and the more expensive however I never felt pressured. I was given clear descriptions of each option and was walked through the pros and cons so I could decide. I have had nothing but problems - all stemming from improper installation - with a wall heater installed by Exact in late 2010. 1) The installers of the supposedly new wall heater positioned the gas shutoff valve so that it was inoperable - blocked by the heater guts itself. I had to use a hack saw later to cut the valve handle in order to make it close. Clearly a serious safety issue. 2) Next, the thermostat would not reliably operate the unit. A call to the manufacturer and I learned that the wire run between the thermostat and heater was much too long, literally yards and yards of extra wiring was just left under the house between the connections. 3) After I contacted the manufacturer, I discovered as well that the installers mounted the heater improperly in the wall so it's covers rest on the floor instead of the install spec which has them above the floor by an inch or so. This mistake has left my hard wood floors in direct contact with the covers, scorching them, not to mention the large gap in the drywall above the unit which I had to patch. 4) If that was not enough, today I have a HVAC crew here cleaning the unit which has operated poorly since install. They expressed shock at the wear and tear on the unit. Then the real shocker: they identified the labelled date of manufacture of the unit was 2004, a full six years before Exact installed in my home claiming it as a BRAND NEW unit. I have a call into Zach at Exact to find out just how he came to install a six year old heating unit in my house, while claiming it was new (and charging me as though it was). Follow up to Exact Plumbing response to my initial post (5/2/13). Quoting verbatim evaluation written by Zac: "After evaluation found customer needed new 40 gallon wh. Est includes install of new Bradford White tank wh. disposal of old unit and earthquake strapping". That was either an incompetent or unethical assessment. I don't know in what world you would blame a misdiagnosis that benefits you as a contractor on the customer. I am not an expert on water heaters. Trying to spin this poor behavior makes me more suspicious of them and is what prompted me to follow up today so others are aware. This business is not as reliable or ethical as they may initially seem. I think they are probably better at social media manipulation than maintaining ethical business standards. read more

we were having issues with our toilet and called jacks roto service (monte rio) to come out and fix it. after two days of work, and 375$ later, the issue was still not resolved. when we called him to tell him our toilet was still clogged, he told us he wanted nothing to do with us. that was when we called exact plumbing. they came out and found the issue immediately: the water conserving toilet was installed improperly causing the issues. they installed our old toilet we happened to still have and our issues were resolved. they even cleaned the toilet and the area they worked in. they were very professional and very knowledgeable. they did all of this for a fraction of what the other plumber charged us (the plumber who did absolutely nothing). if you have plumbing issues, i definitely recommend exact plumbing!!!! read more
