We were looking for a quick breakfast spot on our way from out of town and noticed this little place while searching at a gas station and lets just say it was worth it! The parking lot was easy to get to and we were greeted by friendly staff who explained the menu and offered choices for coffees and donuts as well. My boyfriend and I both chose grit bowls which had grits, fried chicken, bacon, sriracha maple syrup, and smoked Gouda (which I'm not a fan of) but it was fantastic nonetheless! They also let us know to order our donuts at the same time as ordering our food since once they're sold out, they're sold out for the day! Great biscuits! Staff is pleasant and very helpful. My wife and I both had their biscuit sandwiches. My wife had the sausage and egg biscuit and I had the fried chicken biscuit. The biscuits were tender and flaky. The fried chicken was cooked great but could have used some salt. I didn't know this before we left otherwise we would have taken advantage of their hot sauce bar. A must stop for those in Hendersonville. HenDough is at the top of my list when it comes to chicken biscuits and donuts. Their menu isn't large but the items that they do have are unbelievably good. Just when you think the Hot Chicken Biscuit couldn't get any better you smother it with gravy and BAM! Winner winner chicken dinner. The smothered hot chicken biscuit isn't on the menu but it should be. Fifty percent of the time I order it every time. The donuts are also something special. They're everything you want a donut to be - and more. I'm far from Vegan but the vegan berry glazed donut is out of this world. You can't go wrong with their seasonal specials either. The inside of the restaurant is small and quirky but we've never had an issue finding seating for 4-6. They do have seating upstairs on the outside deck for the nicer days. Hendough is a great restaurant owned by locals and their food is fantastic! The donuts are unique and delicious. The white squirrel is one of my favorite donuts along with the Creme Brûlée donut! I found this place quite by accident while looking for another place in the Yelp app, and I'm glad I did. The biscuits are big and the chicken is hot, fresh, and crispy. Brought home some doughnuts for others to try and I snagged a Boston creme for myself. The fried dough had a hint of crunch and it was not overly sweet. OMG! I'm going to try to write this review while I sit miserable because I literally made myself sick, overeating at this gem. This is the most adorable little cafe! Donuts, biscuits, gravy, bacon OH MY! This location is easy to find, in an older historic kind of area, and I'm pretty sure it's actually an older house. This is a counter service restaurant with the friendliest staff. They were busy decorating for fall and everything was super cute! I wanted to order one of everything on the menu. We opted for one of their eggs in a basket, a buffalo chicken sandwich, a side of jalapeño grits, a side of sweet potato salad, and an apple maple bacon bear claw. When the egg in a basket arrived to our table, I realized in this moment, I was living my best life...I mean...a donut, with an egg in the middle, topped with friend chicken, bacon, and maple syrup. What more could you ask for? The buffalo chicken sandwich was perfection, not too hot, just right. Served on a delicious fresh bun. The sweet potato salad was not my thing, different, but not for me. The jalapeño grits were good but could use a little more cheese and kick! The bear claw was exactly what dreams are made of! We loved it so much, we grabbed two for the road. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the parking lot was small and I'm assuming it gets crowded. The only thing negative I have to say, is the bathroom was dirty BUT we came right after the lunch rush so I think they had not had time to catch their breath and tidy things up yet. We found Hendough on Bring Fido. It was a bit hard to find but worth the effort. It is run by the owner who takes great interest in pleasing his clientele. Ambience- non pretentious on picnic tables outside (dogs) or rustic inside. No matter the tables were clean ready for all of us in the shade. Food- biscuit n ham/egg were delicious n fresh; Donuts were unique and their pride; coffee was the best n full flavored with multiple options. Free refills; was going to stay longer but we took cup 3 with us. Had the chicken biscuit and it was awesome! By far the best fried chicken breast I have ever had. It was huge, crispy on outside, and VERY juicy. The biscuit was great but not the kind of biscuit I prefer. This was a more dense, dry biscuit. Now, my BF got the chicken biscuit with sausage gravy....that was AWESOME too. And the biscuit was perfect for that gravy. I would love to try the chicken and pimento cheese one day. Got mimosa...that was great! Got cinnamon sugar donut...wasn't bad. But not what I expected. Had a delicious breakfast at HenDough! So much yummy bakery, the donuts are really good.. we got classics, Glazed and Cinnamon Sugar, both perfectly executed! Hubby and I drove up during a light winter storm, so I was pleasantly surprised that they were open for business. The staff was all super friendly and helpful with the menu!! They were really busy so we sat outside, but the outside heaters were awesome..we stayed very toasty while waiting on our food and then eating. We ordered Chicken Biscuits for breakfast and hashbrown tots, my husband got his biscuit sandwich smothered in gravy. Which I think was a good call, the fried chicken breast was just a little bit dry for my liking so the gravy was nice to off set that, I borrowed some off of his plate, yumm!! Great find in Hendersonville. We stopped based upon a recommendation from a local while visiting a nearby store. Fantastic food, the chicken sandwich was made with a chicken breast rather than thighs (which is my preference). It was perfectly cooked and I had it served the traditional way, with mayo and pickles made in house. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Don't leave without a doughnut! Service was fantastic. I got the special - Country Scramble and my husband got the chicken tenders with a side of Gouda Mac-n-cheese. It was good. We agreed that it wasn't the best but there wasn't anything bad about our food. The highlights were the Gouda mac-n-cheese and the buffalo hot sauce. The disappointment were the donuts. We had the creme brûlée and the apple pie cheesecake. They were kind of dry and just meh. They looked really good but the taste didn't live up to the expectation.
