We really wanted to like this place but because the service was so poor, I can't recommend it. In fact, I strongly recommend against it. Rather than giving a play-by-play of everything that was said to us throughout our time there for a lunch, I'll just say, multiple members of the staff were extremely rude. This was not relegated to a single member having a bad day. Multiple members. Sending love to WNC as the recovery efforts continue post hurricane Helene. Three Chopt is a downtown Hendersonville sandwich shop that my family and I greatly enjoyed on our most recent visit. It must be a popular spot for the area in general, because we crammed into the last table available, and the waitresses were running around like crazy trying to help everyone. The wife of the husband and wife pairing that own this place was the one who helped us, and she could not be nicer, though just overwhelmed with customers on this particular day. In the kitchen, the husband was cooking up a storm, making sandwiches as fast as he could. The family looks like a melting pot of people from all over, with the central tree in the restaurant bearing arrow signs of their various origins. Cincinnati, St. Croix, and Mexico city are represented. In general, the restaurant has a great feel. I order one of their versions of a reuben, they had a few different takes, this one seems the most like a classic. It was delicious, great decision. Good amount of meat, kraut, tasty dressing, nicely buttered and grilled rye. I opted for the slight upcharge and got fries with my sandwich, they were nicely crisp on the outside and very tasty. Because of how busy they are it was difficult to get a drink refill on this hot day, but I helped myself to one, and that was fine. I have no way of knowing currently the state of affairs at this business, because downtown Hendersonville saw a large amount of flooding. The owner greets every customer as they enter with a hearty welcome! Free popcorn is given to every table. The food was delicious, fresh, and the portions were generous. (Ask about the special - it comes with a drink and cookie!) The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. It's rather small inside but cozy and we didn't have to wait for a table (with 5 in our party). There were several options on the kids' menu and lots of options on the regular menu. The owner went out of his way to speak to us and to make sure the kids were happy and taken care of, even bringing an extra plate of fries for the kids to share. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend it to others. As a bonus, it's an easy walk from the Pinball Museum if you're there for the day. read more

Rosie was so sweet and welcoming. I had the best home made chicken soup and it was served nice and hot on a cold day. I also had the half chicken sandwich and they served it with potato chips. The owner is acutely aware of the added burden of parking fees in HVL and mentioned that using the parking kiosk nearby will give 1/2 hour free; parking garage 1 hr free. We had visited this establishment before when we visited Hendersonville and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we will not be back. After seating ourselves, a server comes over and stares at us, we realize they were taking our drink order. Ofer given them the drink order request, we received an 'incorrect' drink order. No problem we thought, just a mixup and we moved on. A different server came over and asked, are you ready to order. No pleasantries, just are your ready to order. I ordered for us, 1 sandwich to be split for both of us, asked what soups were available and proceeded to order the broccoli and cheese. After a question on what type of chips, our order was complete. Maybe 5 minutes later, a split sandwich came as ordered as well as chips. No soup, no refill and the incorrect drinks. The bill was given at the time of the order being brought out, and that should have been a hint that a server would not be back, that they were finished with us. After we finished the sandwich, I took the bill up to pay. Menu listed our sandwich as 9.59 and each drink at 2.50, total on bill was 14.99. The 'owner' at the register said that will be 23.00. Wow! Now you know why we will not be back. Incorrect order evidently computes to an incorrect price. I was speechless. read more

Rosy covers the orders and brings popcorn to your table when you sit down. This sandwich shop is located just off the main strip in Hendersonville. I went with family for lunch around 1pm on a Friday, and they were busy, which is a great sign. We walked in and grabbed one of the only 4 top tables available. The menu is bigger than expected, and they have a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. The sandwiches don't come with a side though, so you have to order one if you want. I loved how when you sat down, we were given a small bowl of popcorn. That was a pleasant surprise. Stopped over in Hendersonville on our way to a close by weekend rental. After doing a walk through downtown, we decided to eat at Three Chopt. This place is a classic old school luncheonette. We had a Greek salad , the deluxe grilled cheese and the Mile Marker sandwich. All the food was delicious. I recommend this place over some of the more trendy places downtown. Finally we're fully vaccinated and can go out! My son and I were looking around downtown Hendersonville. It was getting to be lunchtime so we went to Three Chopt. I hadn't been there in quite a while. The entire place is remodeled. The walls are a soft blue/grey, the tables look new and there's a tree inside. There are a couple of tables outside too. Overall, very nice. My son ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. I got a chicken salad sandwich that had raisins, walnuts, and apples in it with some potato chips as well. Rosie, one of the owners, brought our drinks quickly then a small bowl of popcorn. Not all the tables were full but about 3/4 were. The servers kept the drinks full and we're attentive. When our lunch arrived it was delicious! The burger disappeared pretty quickly as did my sandwich. We were full and happy. We didn't get dessert. Go visit Three Chopt when you're in town.
