Looking for a good Thai restaurant by my job! We ordered from here. I got regular fried rice with chicken and my co workers got the spicy one. Which I would've gotten but it had mushrooms. I do not like mushrooms lol ordering and delivery were perfect. The food also came with springs rolls and dipping sauce to go with it. Which is always nice. My co workers loved her rice. I personally found mine bland and if you look closely at the chicken it doesn't look like it's seasoned. The spring rolls were delicious. Maybe we order again let's see how I feel
I was in the area around lunch time and decided to try out their lunch menu. I was shocked at how cheap it was - just $12 with a cash discount ! - and decided to order the pad see ew with chicken. The restaurant is very small, but when I dropped by around 2pm ish, there were only two other tables there. Unfortunately, it soon became clear why the lunch prices were so low. My pad see ew primarily tasted of pepper (seasoned with SO much black pepper) - not much flavour otherwise from either the noodles themselves or the slices of chicken. The shumai dumplings didn't really taste fresh either - I ended up only eating one of these. I'm wondering if I just got unlucky w my order specifically or if it's a general trend; my experience seems to diverge quite strongly from many of the other reviews I've seen on here. I might drop by again to give it another chance, but with so many great restaurants in the neighbourhood, it probably won't be anytime soon.
$12 or $14 for lunch special (entree + mini appetizer), served until 3:30pm, is a pretty good deal in the area. Add $2 to sub brown rice. I think there's a 10% cash discount. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options, which is uncommon at Thai restaurants - most have fish sauce, shrimp paste, and other seasonings that are premixed (eg in the curry paste). The green curry is pretty good. The veggie dumplings were unique but I didn't enjoy the texture/flavor of the filling. Seating wise, there are 4 tables (2 seat 2 people and 2 seat 4 people) and a window bar with 3 seats. Takeout seems more popular for lunch but it's a perfectly nice place to sit and rarely crowded.
Guys, don't sleep on this place. As others mentioned, there's a cash discount. The food is fast, fresh, and DELICIOUS. I've been several times and every time it's sooooo tasty. And, the workers are so kind and friendly too. They have a lot of regulars and no matter what time I visit, they're always busy. They're very accommodating to vegetarians, too. Love eating here!
Open during COVID-19 as of December 2021: Heng Thai, located across the E/7/M/G stop of 23rd Court Square, was a previous Thai restaurant in 2019. Since 2020, it has rebranded. I've only ordered and tried this authentic Thai establishment as of 2021 and find it a great addition to the neighboring Thai eateries in town. Location wise, it is very convenient when living off the main road of Vernon and nearby MoMa PS1. The restaurant is not fancy, however, it is adorned with Thai newspaper wallpaper which I found unique. There are a few casual table seating and window seating. I've only ordered to-go by calling ahead and picking up within 20 minutes which, for me, is a standard amount of time for Thai food. The staff is quick and pleasant. The food is always good although price is LIC price range so it's not cheap at all and very comparable to restaurants on Vernon. I am a fan of their green curry and brown rice, although it is mild in my opinion. The portions are reasonable. They have some vegan options too which is nice for those who are vegetable and vegan forward. Heng Thai has a vast selection of dishes to choose. Accepts cash and card. Indoor, take out, pickup and delivery available. Masks inside. Bon appetit!

I came in today bad the lunch special it comes with a choice of 1 appetizer and an entree for around 15 before tax. I had the spring roll they were crispy. I ordered the drunken noodles with mock duck spicy that was so on point. The lady at the counter was very friendly and polite. I'm not from the area but if I'm around again I'd stop in
We ordered green curry from here and it was so fresh and delicious! We were surprised actually by HOW fresh the eggplant, peppers etc were... awesome prices and very friendly staff!! Will be back and can't wait to try some of their noodle dishes. The above was from over 1 year ago. The quality of their food has gone down the toilet. I paid almost $20 today for a bowl of sticky noodles. I ordered pad see ew with chicken and there was BARELY any meat....if I accumulated it all, it would be a deli slice of chicken. It was terrible and bland. This had happened for the last few orders that I've gotten and I'm done with Heng Thai. They used to have AMAZING thai food and I ordered really often but the management or chef has changed and not for the better.

I ordered delivery from here and thought that it was alright. They gave really good deals on UberEats and the delivery was very fast (15-20 minutes), so I really appreciated it. I got their egg rolls, crab rangoons, and roasted duck with panang curry. Their egg rolls were pretty flavorless and I didn't really enjoy them. Their crab rangoons were also okay--but I normally don't get rangoons, so I don't have a good basis for judgement (they were free for my order). But, I did enjoy their duck with panang curry. The duck was juicy, full of meat, and a good portion. And, the curry was rich and creamy with lots of veggies. Overall, the mains are probably better than the entrees. read more
Coming home from a long workday, I was so close to going to Court Square Diner, but instead detoured here. Glad I did, they had an amazing fried rice at a reasonable good price too. Cooked to perfection and the staff were easy to talk to. And quick! read more

Pad Krapow Moo was very good, almost like Thailand, but the Holy Basil not easy to find in the state. It's Mostly take out but there are a couple of tables. Service is good but can be a little slow, during lunch time due to traffic. It's worth short wait...Cheers! read more

Its your standard lunch special takeout thai fare but the prices are lower than anywhere else I've seen. No complaints about the drunken noodles - generous portion of protein, and perfect amount of spice. Best mango sticky rice ive had. read more

Popped in on a Saturday evening to get some pork Pad Thai. It was very tasty. About as good as it gets. My wife had a chicken curry that was equally delicious. Simple Thai good cooked fast and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

This review is just about the service the woman that worked yesterday provided. I have a colonoscopy coming up and I just wanted sticky white rice and a plain shrimp. (Like what you would get if you get shrimp pineapple fried rice, they give plain shrimp). I would've paid whatever price for it. I told this woman I can't have vegetables (or fruits) right now. She catches an attitude and pisses me off. I ended up getting the coconut shrimp with sticky white rice. And it had a freaking side of salad. Now why the hell would you have salad there if I said I can't have vegetables? She literally did not listen. I threw out that salad obviously, it was not eaten. But the fact that she didn't listen is what really ticked me off. Food is OK. I just wanted to go here because I thought they'd be accommodating. I would MUCH rather go to sweetgreen, hot pepper, chipotle, or other restaurants around here but because I'm low fiber right now I couldn't go to the other places listed. But yeah about $17 for 5 coconut shrimp with a salad + sauce and side of sticky white rice :). Will not buy food from here again. read more

Ordered takeout from Heng Thai and got the pad see ew, pad thai, and thai iced tea! The portion sizes were pretty good for the price - I could get 1-1.5 meals off of the pad see ew and 2 meals from the pad thai! Everything was pretty tasty in my opinion, but definitely runs on the sweeter side compared to some other Thai restaurants. I would def come back again! read more

Service is good. Their food are tasty. Lunch special on the weekdays are such a good deal. I ordered a Thai fried rice and appetizers I had spring rolls. They both are not spicy and taste great. I'll definitely come back. Give them a try! read more
I saw this place opened recently and I ordered for pick-up. The food was just alright. I ordered the Pad see ew with Beef and one with Tofu. The tofu wasn't seasoned well and it tasted so plain. The noodle was overcooked. I don't think I will order from here again. read more
I may have found my preferred location for Drunken Noodles. They were absolutely amazing and had the perfect amount of heat. We ordered the Drunken Noodles, Pad See Ew, and BBQ Pork. Heng Thai did not disappoint on any level. Flavor and portion were perfect for the price. Additionally, I will note that the sauce to noodle ratio was on point. Sometimes, the noodles can overpower the entire dish, but Heng Thai managed to find the ideal marriage of noodles and sauce. The Pad See Ew was milder than I would have liked, but this is something I am sure I could have corrected with a simple request. The same goes for the BBQ Pork. For all of the dishes, it should also be communicated the vegetables were not overcooked, another noteworthy accomplishment! There was an adequate crunch aspect and the vegetables were still able to absorb the flavors. From sweet to savory and a bit of salt, Heng Thai is worth a visit; you will not be disappointed. read more
New Thai spot in LIC! Gaw Gai is under new ownership and has a new menu. If you can take advantage of the $10 lunch special, it's not a bad take out option for the area. I ordered the Beef Pad See Ew with Tom Yum Soup. The beef pad see ew came with broccoli and Chinese broccoli. The flavoring wasn't bad and the portion was pretty good. I've never had Tom Yum Soup before but it tasted similar to a tangy Hot & Sour Soup. I wasn't able to finish it because of the spice level. I'll probably opt for a different side next time but I'm content with the menu offerings. read more
My wife and I go to Trader Joe's weekly and we keep passing by this place but never went in until today. It's so easy to miss but such a gem! The curry puffs were filled with a lot of meat, the steamed veggie dumplings had an unique filling (it had corn) which you don't see too often in dumplings. Both the drunken noodle and the spicy eggplant had a nice kick (spicy) to it and was very flavorful. The place also gives you a discount if you pay cash. If you haven't tried this place, you need to go asap! read more

Solid takeout Thai spot in LIC. They can get busy in the afternoon so wait times can be sometimes be 20-25 minutes. I've tried the pad khee mao with chicken, chicken curry puff, and pumpkin curry. Everything is good, but the pumpkin curry was my favorite! read more

This food is horrible. The pork belly is tasteless and soggy. The crab rice is bland. The scallion pancake is dough with scallions. Horrible. Just bland. I need sauce or something please. I want a refund. The Thai ice tea was the only good thing to wash this dog food down. read more
Five stars for being a standout takeout spot in the Court Square area - in terms of quick tasty lunches but also for super friendly customer experience. I've only been here when I am in a rush and need a quick pick up and go option - eg fried dumplings - but their lunch specials seem really popular and there is a happy friendly vibe to the place - from sunny yellow walls with vintage Thai newspaper inspired wallpaper to the relaxing music to the cute chicken and cat figurines - that welcomes you to stay and eat at one of the few socially distanced tables. read more

This place just opened so thought we'd check it out. It's delicious! We got curry puffs which were light and chewy. The pad kee mao was my favorite! I got mild and it had just right amount of heat for me to enjoy the flavors. My fiancée got the pad see ew. It was very light in flavor so we added hot sauce.The noodles were cooked perfectly. It had a really nice chewiness. The staff is friendly too! We are excited to have a good Thai place in the area. Can't wait to try the other items on the menu! read more
