Soooo adorable....the navy blue, the wall fixtures, the accent wall pink flowers features, the chandeliers, the table lamp & carnations. Loved it! Greeting was warm and friendly by the host and staff throughout service was attentive and so friendly. The food was plentiful and dellllicious. My go-to dish is the pad se ew with beef, and the portion was generous (couldn't finish) and sauce and beef was delicious. Not dry and full of flavor. Loved the appetizers (the coconut shrimp and crab Rangoon) - they did not disappoint. Overall reasonably priced! It's BYOB, and the mocktails and other drinks look yummy. I had the lychee lemonade with came in a mason jar and was yummy, not too sweet or sour just perfect.

@thonglornyc is another place that you need to add to your fave Thai place. I wasn't ready for how good this Thai food was. The flavors, the spice, the freshness... unreal. This isn't just a meal, it's an experience. This meal took me somewhere. The flavors felt like a warm hug -- comforting, bold, and beautifully balanced. It's more than food... it's a story in every bite. Featured : - Fried Calamari - Appetizer Sampler - Whole Fish Thai Basil - Spicy Tamarind Duck - Fried Banana with ice cream

First time eating here! I ordered the duck salad and pad se eww. Love love love! I should have order a double order of both to be honest lol! Everything was so flavorful with spice too!!). The restaurant was really peaceful and the service was pleasant and prompt! I was in and out in 10 minutes of waiting for my food. Anytime someone is looking for something to eat in the area, I'll point them here!

    Tamarind red Snapper

Ambiance was cozy and nice. Simple decoration, but warm and welcoming. Service was friendly, on time and and non pretentious. The food was delicious. , fresh and flavorful. We tried a couple of dishes, but the Tamarind whole red snapper was my favorite. We will definitely come back to this restaurant to try other dishes.

Really delicious Thai food! Love that they deliver during lunch time! Creative items on the menu like the iced Thai green tea. I really like their miso salad!

great service and environment. the portions are very huge for the price, ive been eating non stop for an hour and im still eating idk if the pad thai is infinite but i seriously cant find the end of the noodles its really huge i dont know when im leaving because theres a huge amount of pad thai. the photo is like the pad thai after an hour and 32 minutes, what are the ingredients and why cant i finish the noodles? theyre so amazing but im really confused, but im still grateful. its $17 only for this huge portion im in shock. im still eating as i type this review and im still in the restaurant

The food looks like it's tasty in photos but it's okay. The mocktails have potential in terms of flavor combinations but they taste very artificial. The service was good.

Duck Panang Curry. Missing the avocado but good curry with nicely crispy duck

Short review: Order the duck or fish. The rest of the food is fine. Rating is for the area only. On the Upper East/Queens, this would be a 3. Went here with one of my usual groups a good while ago so I actually don't remember too much. Service was friendly. I had a iced tea which was definitely a bit too sweet compared the usual. There's an abundance of bell peppers on the menu which isn't exactly common in traditional Thai cuisine but the flavors were fine. The Beef Jungle Dried Curry had a good amount of meat with sauteed dried curry, bell peppers, string beans, bamboo, and basil had a good amount of meat and was well spiced. The Vegetable Green Curry with eggplant, bamboo shoots, basil, and bell pepper was alright though a bit sweet. The Chicken Drunk Man Noodle (which is a humorous translation of pad ke mao) with sauteed flat noodles with egg, bell pepper, onion, and fresh basil in a spicy chili sauce was good with a bit of spice. The stars of the meal were the fish and the duck. The Whole Fish Mango Salad with a whole crispy red snapper with a mango sauce had a nice presentation with a very well fried fish. It wasn't fried too much that the fish flavor couldn't be tasted but enough that it was crispy and delicious with the mango salad added some good sweetness and sourness. The best of the night was the Duck Panang Curry with half a duck, bell pepper, and string beans in a Panang/Phaenang curry sauce. Well spiced with a very crispy tasty duck though it was missing the avocado listed. The duck in the Fried Rice Tom Yum with onion, scallion, egg, mushroom, and tomato with chili paste was also similarly well made though the rice could have used more flavor. We went with the Lava Chocolate Cake afterwards which was alright. It was served with matcha ice cream which was a nice touch. Food here is fine. Prices are low and the flavors are fine. If this was in let's say Elmhurst, I'd round up to a 3 but for this area, 3.5 rounded up for prices and service.

Thonglor is a place for comfort Thai food. Located in the heart of Astoria on a busy street on Steinway, Thonglor is tucked away amongst other popular restaurants. There was plenty of seating when we got there on a weekday night and the ambiance was more relaxed. Their pad Thai was delicious and affordable. You can customize it by adding your own source of protein on top which comes with additional pricing. Service was fast and waitresses were friendly. I would come back again if I was looking for quick, delicious, Thai food. Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 4/5

Came in here on a whim because husband and I were starving. It's a small, cozy and dimmed spot. The food is fresh, absolutely delicious with generous portions. The only thing that we wouldn't get again are the scallion pancakes, they were not the scallion pancakes that were used to, but they were ok. Service was great and made us feel like returning some time soon!

The ones we had been to in the past usually allows you to also pick different type of cooking style or seasoning but this place only cooks it their way. It's good for people who are indecisive but disappointing for people who want variety of flavor. They usually have a section of appetizers and drinks you can order on a separate menu as well. The staffs were very low energies when we visited on a weekend night. The overall ambiance and interaction made us feel a little uncomfortable. We ordered: - eggplant dip - fries - Greek salad (large) - cooked fish - calamari - octopus Honestly I was so disappointed with the food. It didn't taste as fresh and was overall too salty. The eggplant dip had a weird taste. Friend fries were not as crispy and unevenly distributed portions of salt. The calamari was nothing special. The fish was okay, and the octopus was so salty we actually sent back the dish. It was very difficult to enjoy it. The staff was so accommodating and actually took the dish off our bill. (Thank you!! - great customer service!). My favorite item was probably the Greek salad, but then again it's hard to mess up a salad. I would say this is my least favorite counter order style seafood restaurant in Astoria. My friend said great things about it prior to my visit and I really wish I would have liked it.

Upon arrival you're greeted with a small, no-frills restaurant that moves people in and out relatively efficiently. You start the process by moving to the front and picking out the fresh fish you'd like for your meal. The gentlemen up front will then weigh it out and ask you how you'd like it prepared. My group ended up grabbing calamari, octopus tentacles, scallops, and a whole fish. We also ordered some baba ghanoush and eggplant with tomato on the side. The scallops and octopus, both of which we ordered grilled, came out first and were excellent! The scallops were soft and buttery with great texture and flavor. The octopus was the star of the show with an excellent bite and texture and great flavor from the olive oil and garlic coating it. Our order of fried calamari was also super tasty. It seems like they sprinked a special spice blend over it to give it some extra kick. Our last fish course was a whole fish served Egyptian style with blackened seasoning. The skin of the fish was amazing. It had a citrusy/salty flavor that was followed by the freshness of the herbs stuffed inside the fish. Our sides were also great with the baba ghanoush being my favorite dip. I give Abuqir top marks for their food and service. The cooks were very helpful in assisting us with making our fish selections and everything was cooked to perfection.
