I had a good experience at Henry's Donuts (West Covina). I ordered the Sugar Donut ($1.75). The donut is fresh, clean, and fluffy. It's tasty. (Note: Bring Cash. There's a 3% added fee for Card Payments.) I arrived at Henry's Donuts (West Covina) on a Tuesday (around 7:07AM). Parking is available but very cramped. There's only about seven parking spots. Surprisingly, Henry's Donuts (West Covina) had many customers quickly flowing in and out during my visit. Staff is professional and efficient. Staff spoke limited English, but they easily helped me. Staff worked quickly. On ambiance, Henry's Donuts (West Covina) is fairly clean with interior tables. The inside felt somewhat cramped and narrow, but it's perfectly adequate. Place looks old but well-maintained. Overall, Henry's Donuts (West Covina) is perfectly fine. They offer fresh donuts, quick service, and a clean business. Great place for donuts located right off Francisquito. We walked there from our home on a Saturday morning. It was a little later around 9 am so we missed the morning rush. Still plenty of fresh delicious donuts. We got friendly service , the lady was nice and patient with my kids as they picked out their donuts. Their sandwiches are delicious and fresh. The ham, cheese, and egg breakfast croissant was very good, it melts in your mouth and they give a generous amount of ham slices. their tuna croissant sandwich was also flavorful, i got it with everything (lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, jalapeño, mustard, cheese). i also got their donut holes and a jelly filled donut, they were very fresh and the donut holes' size were bigger than regular places! LOCATION - On Francisquito, you'll see the yellow signage for Henry's Donuts. This is a pretty small, narrow parking lot and there's no turning lane so be cautious when coming. FOOD - This has been a big part of my childhood. My family would get donuts from here frequently. But over the years, there's been changes. Not to the actual donuts though. Phew! The quality of the donuts never ceases to be amazing. Their donuts are incredible - soft dough in the inside and just the right amount of sweetness on the outside. SERVICE - Ran by a lovely family, you can feel the struggle from the owner's faces and upkeep of the shop. Like I said, their donuts are amazing but there was a time when the owner's son would be running it and I noticed that the shop would close early, have odd hours, ran out of donut selections quickly, etc. It does pain me to see the shape that it's in from a physical and emotional standpoint but I do hope that things get much better for them in every sense. read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 - 102/100 Wanted to find a different donut shop and was led to this place because of the reviews. Ordered a half dozen (under $6) and was unhappy to see them stuffed in a paper bag instead of a box. Ham, cheese and jalapeño croissant $2.95, small coffee $1.45, hazelnut creamer cups for 10 cents each. There were two free donut holes inside of the paper bag with the croissant. I happily popped one. It had a slightly sour taste, I thought it was because of the cheese from the croissant. Then I tried the other donuts and found that they l had the same sour aftertaste, like dry yeast that didn't have time to activate. Not a fan. read more

If you go early in the mornings, ask for their Ham and Cheese. It's fresh, warm, and you can tell that it is definitely made with love. First off, I wanted to support a local small business such as this mom and pop place. I was craving those jalapeno croissants, but they ran out by the time I went there. I still tried a plain croissant and a crumb donut. It was delicious and soft and fluffy. Croissants are huuuge! And voila I added my own pickled jalapenos and some cheese, toast it, and voila! Overall, their croissant was a great vehicle for it. After I paid and took off, I noticed she gave me free donut holes. Coming from parents of a small business, reminded me of my mom who would give small trinkets to customers. It was a delightful surprise and made me think of how wonderful business owners are and this small gesture really touched my heart. I would definitely come back and support them again -- not for additional donut holes but just the fact I can help a small business owner who is so thoughtful to their customers. read more

I haven't been here for several years. Happened to be in West Covina and drove by Henry's, and remembered all of their fresh sweet fried dough. Yes, had to pull over and drop in to get my usual, glazed old fashioned, and also tried their rasberry filled. Both were really good. Their selections are not too impressive as they offer the usual types you can find in any one of the thousand donut shops in LA, but what they serve are all fresh from my experience. Whenever I have to bring my niece to school, I always, always make a point to stop at Henry's Donuts to bring a box to work. In the morning, I tend to be more of a savory person, but when it comes to these delicious balls of dough, I'm willing to indulge my sweet tooth in the AM. So far I've tried quite a different ones over the past few months, but no matter which one I bite into, they have two things in common. One is that all them have a lighter bread consistency. None of the donuts are heavy or too dense. Don't you hate that feeling of sometimes eating a donut and than having this heavy feeling afterwards? Like you swallowed a rock or something. Henry's Donuts are just a little more airy. What I also like is that none of the donuts are overly sweet. The amount of frosting is just right and I've even noticed that the custard and jams they use for their filled donuts also not as sugary as other similar donuts I've had in the past. You really can make your sweet tooth happy, but not worry that one bite is going to cause a rush of cavities to form at that moment. In the morning, it can get quite busy, so I think that there are a lot of people in the area who know a good thing when they bite into it. Nice little mom and pop doughnut shop. Stuff you'll find at major chains like Yum Yum's, you'll find here as well. The difference? Lower prices and better taste. Great doughnuts at fair prices. Whenever I find myself around the area, I stop by and grab a maple bar and a buttermilk bar. They always throw in 2 or 3 doughnut holes for free with my order to boot. I'm within walking distance of this place so that may have had some influence as to why I've been coming to this place for years. Then again, the donuts here are pretty good, well priced and there's a decent selection of donuts. Not to mention that the owner(s) are pretty nice, polite, and helpful. I wasn't quite sure what this place would be like middle of the night. Whether coffee would be old , croissant and donut cold, etc. To my surprise, coffee tasted fresh. Ham and cheese croissant was warm. He said it was fresh. Got a sugar donut which was also warm. May be i just got there at right time (around 4am). I was happy about everything i got. Price was reasonable to me. The only odd thing was that he put some cardboard at the entrance and i have to step over it. Doesn't bother me but just a little odd. read more
