Very solid hojicha here. The hojicha was rich, creamy with a nice roasted flavor from Mizuba, ceremonial grade. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. There's plenty of outdoor seating, so it's a comfortable spot to hang out for a bit, and free parking is always a big plus. They also sell Mexican-style pastries on the side, which is a nice touch if you want something to snack on with your drink. You can also buy their coffee beans. Overall, a great little spot if you're in the mood for a hojicha or just want a relaxed place to grab a drink. There's a bunch of grab and go foods next door in food court!
12/30/2025 First time here. Wanted to get a cuppa coffee before heading back home after eating at Haven City Market. CAPPUCCINO Hot, smooth, little bit of smoky, creamy, light sweetness from the simple syrup. Great smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Delicious all-around! This was the second best cappuccino I've had in 2025! The first one being Stereoscope in Buena Park. Sadly, I did not review their cappuccino that day. CUSTOMER SERVICE Barista worked alone! Already five people were served and they were standing outside talking. Then four other people were standing in line to place an order. I knew I couldn't order more than one coffee. Barista looked swamped! However, she was so kind and friendly! She made sure everyone loved their drinks! NO INDOOR TABLES OR SEATS However, there are outdoor tables and seats in the outdoor seating area next to Haven City Market. There is a small bench inside, while waiting for your order. But it is located at the most awkward place, next to the cash register and merch! Lol! Based on that cappuccino alone, I would come back!
Visited Local Coffee Roasters a few times over the past year and each time has been a good one. The service and staff are welcoming and answer any questions I have about the menu. The location serves up standard coffee options, matcha and food/pastry items. It's standing room only inside with the merch and coffee blends for sale. The pastry options might vary on a daily basis. On a recent visit, I ordered the Houjicha and chocolate chip scone. To note: almond or oat milk substitution is $1 extra. I ordered my drink iced and took the scone as is, but they offered to warm it up if I wanted. This Houjicha and chocolate chip scone pairing went well together. I like the roasted flavor of Houjicha matcha. The scone was great! I'm not a scone person but it looked really good on the display so I tried it. The crumbly texture and balance of sweetness was perfect. Overall, a good option for coffee or matcha for me at Haven City Market. ( ^_^)b Side note: morning time is nice and relaxing since the entire patio is typically empty.
Waiting for the market to open, I sat in my car and saw people run in and out of this coffee shop. Located outside of Haven city market in west Covina I thought to myself let's give it a try. It was close to 9am and there were customers coming in and out but it wasn't busy busy. Walked in and looked at the menu. Fairly small coffee shop with no seats or tables. A small variety of croissants. I approached the counter and asked if they had any vanilla latte. They did not but she suggested sweet latte. I was not expecting much but to my surprise it was fairly tasty. It was just the perfect amount of sweet and the coffee was not watered down. It consists of double shot espresso with milk and brown sugar and simple syrup. ** Came back and tried the Mexican sidecar, so good! Must try**
In the same area as the HCM place , their entrance is outside by the outdoor courtyard. Cute shop with a beautiful smiling face behind the counter . The friendly lady was welcoming as we step foot in the door. She mentioned a few of her regulars and her favorite drinks, seeing how baffled we were on which drinks to order . Ultimately we settled on their maple cold brew with cream foam . My husband and my friend did state they were surprised how tasty our drinks were and the creamy taste of the foam really enhanced the flavor. Funny how we still reminisce on our drive home of the delicious drink, we all ready made plans to go back for more ..

Credit Cards: They're accepted Restrooms: No restrooms at the shop, but you can use the restroom at the Haven City Market Food Hall. Location/Parking: Located next to Haven's City Market Food Hall. Parking can be found in the shared parking up front. Ambiance/Decor: Not much decor. Mainly a take it and go type of shop. There are communal benches and tables outside to enjoy your drink. Service: Service was great. Barista was informative and attentive. She offered me a sample of the drip coffee to see if I wanted to order it. Service was very fast! They were one of the only places open at the time i drove by the area and i was pleasantly surprised! The matcha was nice and sweet. I didn't taste much of the strawberry, but great matcha nonetheless! I will be back
The parking lot here gets busy and chaotic. But getting coffee early should be fine. The hojicha drink is tasty. You get the full taste of the flavor. It was the right amount of sweetness and not too hot to drink soon after. The pandan was okay but maybe it was an off day.
It's easy to find parking at Haven City on weekday mornings, and they're open at an average hour so it's a nice spot for a sweet latte! The seasonal menu makes it fun to come back & try new drinks. Tiramisu cloud latte (4.0) Really impressed with the cold foam because it tasted like eating lady fingers! I'm not sure if it's just me but the cold foam has a slight almond flavor to it? Or maybe that was the vanilla extract? The coffee leans on the milder side than bold, but that could be because of the sweetness of the flavorings.

I enjoyed the balance of pandan and coffee. The service was fast. The barista was nice. I will go again especially for the pandan coffee, but for sure I will try other drinks
Stopped in this neighborhood coffee shop and immediately felt very welcome -- the girls behind the counter offered their favorites. I ordered the sweet latte, which was really good. Like that they offer the Homeboy Industries pastries ... will be back.
Local Coffee is located right next to the Haven City Market and between GW Supermarket. I was looking for a quick coffee grab and was glad this spot wasn't too busy around 10:30 am. There was plenty of parking spots available as well. I went ahead and ordered the banana milk latte. This was a apparently a seasonal drink that they are removing from the menu, so I was one of the last people to get it. It was a really good drink that had a vibrant banana flavor and not too sweet. This was a nice refreshing drink, especially since it was hotter that day. This store does not have seating inside, so keep in mind it's more of a grab and go. However, if you need a spot to sit and chat, then I'd recommend to go over to the Haven City Market side. Overall, this was a nice little shop with good coffee. Staff was very friendly and was excited about the upcoming seasonal drinks. The service was also quick. They also have a reward system with your phone number. Definitely making my way back here! Note: American Express is accepted.
I visited on a bright, sunny Thursday afternoon, so the vibes were already good and it got even better after my first sip of the Spanish latte. I was debating between that and the Mexican sidecar but the barista kindly informed me that the latter was on the sweeter side, so she preferred the Spanish since it was less sweet. I opted for that drink for the same reason and she was right. I also tried the Biscoff latte and I don't know if the syrup is house-made, but it was also good with the right amount of sweetness. It's very cool that they roast their beans in-house, and although I'm no coffee connoisseur, I thought the quality of the espresso was great. The only thing is that all the syrup sat at the bottom, so be sure to mix it in well. There's no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating on the turf to sit and relax. read more
It's been a while since I last stopped in, and everything was just as I remembered, tiny, minimal, and cozy. Their hojicha is made fresh and so yummy. It's not overly sweet, so you can actually taste the flavor, which I love. The matcha is also really good. I actually prefer it over their neighbor who "specializes" in it. Service was friendly, though I did notice it seemed like a new crew. The manager used to always be there, and the previous staff was a bit more chatty, which made the wait feel quicker. This time the energy was a little more low key, but still perfectly fine service overall. read more

Local Coffee is one of my go-to spots. I'm here at least once a week, usually after grabbing lunch at Haven City. I'm a big fan of their Pandan & Palm Sugar Latte and the Mexican Sidecar, but I recently tried the Lavender Dreams from their Spring menu and loved that too. It's usually pretty chill in the afternoons, and the staff are always friendly and quick. The space is clean, modern, and they've got some cute merch if you're into that. Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops, highly recommend! read more

Located at Haven City Market West Covina, CA. I ordered a cold brew maple coffee which has cinnamon. Great drink! Fun times with @vuochster & @idchienfirst! Love you guys!!! Gin got the same drink as me! Stephanie was a really nice employee here! Nice clean place inside store. You have to take drink out to common area or inside the food market table seating. This small coffee shop is located directly next to Haven City Market Hall. While it is small and has no/limited seating, the seating at Haven City is expansive! The coffee does pack a punch, the flavors are nice and strong. I ordered the Sidecar Latte, it was dark and cinnamon-y. Staff were super friendly and happy to chat while I waited for my order. I ordered ahead of time on the toast app and it took around 20 minutes for my drink to be ready. If I'd been in shop, I imagine it would've been a shorter wait. read more
I had seen local coffee on Yelp and was looking forward to trying their Pandan coffee. The place itself is small inside, but it is located adjacent to haven city, so there is plenty of seating available. The service was good, the girl barista who took my order was polite and the guy barista who made the drink was great. The coffee itself is no big deal though and I was a bit disappointed. For $8+, I felt it was overpriced for its size and quality. They charge a whole $1 for milk alternatives which is insane, most coffee shops charge an extra .50 cents max. Regretfully I don't think I'd return here any time soon due to pricing. read more

Yummmmm. My partner got me the lavender dream latte and it was delicious! He got it half sweetened and as he put it, it was "delightful". The lavender wasn't overpowering and it was almost too easy to drink! The cold brew was also very solid! It looks like they also had some baked goods but we had ordered food from the food hall so we didn't grab any thing to eat from this coffee shop! Definitely recommend this spot if you're needing a caffeine fix. (: read more

It was a little confusing finding this place at first because it's actually on the right side of Haven City Market and the maps take you on the left for some reason. But I ended up finding it, and it was worth it. I ordered an Iced Pandan and Palm Sugar Latte. It had such a unique yet super sweet flavor. I enjoyed my drink a lot and can't wait to be back. read more
Stopped by Local Coffee as part of West Co's Haven City Market expansion and it did not disappoint. Minimal, clean space with a laid back atmosphere. The cookie butter latte was just the right amount of sweetness without being overkill. Super smooth and definitely something I'd order again! Had to take a Guatemala beans home as well. They're also doing a collab with Josun Bagels right now, so you know I had to bag a few to go. I originally stumbled upon them at Fontana's farmer's market one Sunday, so it's cool knowing they've partnered up w Local! Got the ube, pandan, and black sesame bagels -- and wowza. These bagels slap!! Got a chance to meet the owners from both businesses, and genuinely the kindest sweetest folks. 10/10 recommend grabbing a latte when you're out here and don't miss out on the Josun collab! read more

To coffee or not to coffee is the question. But it's Tis the season of hot drinks and milk. Without further ado let's start this lovely review. Local Coffee is a tiny coffee and roasters shop located at 987 South Glendora Avenue Unit 3, West Covina, CA. It's considered one of the top 10 coffee shop in the area accdg to locals. As soon as I entered and immediately looked at their menu. It seems they offer a decent selection of coffee and tea. Similarly, they have pastries albeit limited. Interior design and layout were simple but cute and small. No seats inside, however, they have some coffee table and chairs as well benches. I ordered a hot Spanish Latte. It was bloody ordinary but good. The condiment section was neatly organized and clean. Service was on point. Prices are modest but speciality coffees are pricey. Atmosphere was lively and warm. Staff were professional and affable. Finding parking can be challenging given that the coffee shop is in a large plaza. Overall, I liked my latte and had a good order experience. We were in the area and in need (okay, maybe in want, not need) of some coffee! We stopped by Local Coffee and really enjoyed our visit! The space is so warm and welcoming. I love all of the seasonal decor! They do have a seasonal menu, but my partner and I wanted to try their staples. We ended up getting the iced Mexican Sidecar and iced Pandan and Palm Sugar. I absolutely loved the Mexican Sidecar. It was flavorful and sweet. You can really taste the horchata and cinnamon. I was very impressed by that drink! The Pandan was okay to me. I tasted the flavors but felt like it could be a stronger taste. Overall, a good experience and would come back! The staff were so nice and cheery too! read more

The drinks are pretty solid. Made some inquiries and the barista & cashier was friendly and helpful. Good service. Recommended and told me the sweetness level of the Pandan Latte is like a 2 out of 5 and Spanish Latte 3 out of 5. I got both. They were decently good and sweetness is just right. After picking up my poke bowl in the same plaza, I hit up this new coffee shop. The dude working was busy with taking and making orders happen so I waited a little bit but that's okay. While waiting for a little bit, a girl had just come in to work, chatted up with another girl in the back, just stood near the cash register, and didn't even acknowledge my presence. The guy working seemed to be doing everything even though there were others on shift. Definitely not a good first impression especially for a new business. Here's what I ordered: **Iced Matcha Latte: Opted to go with oat milk. Drink was very milky and barely tasted any matcha. Either the portion for matcha was very poor and/or the quality is not good. (2/5) **Iced Pandan & Palm Sugar: I got recommended this drink because I wasn't looking for anything too sweet. The pandan flavor was definitely there but the coffee flavor, not so much. The first couple sips were good but the last half of the drink was extremely sweet. (3/5) **Pandan Biscoff Cookie: The cookie itself was extremely moist and delicious. The biscoff cookie was quite soggy. Extremely sweet overall so only consume if you have a sweet tooth. (3/5) I had originally wanted to try their espresso tonic but they were out of tonic water. That's fine but as an extremely new business, it's important to have every ingredient available to make all the drinks. Everything about this experience was just average and nothing stood out. Also, their cup design is terrible. If you don't pick up straws, good luck drinking your beverages with that tiny sippy hole in the middle of the cup. read more

Local Coffee (located in the Hong Kong Plaza) has welcoming, friendly staff. However, they lack coffee sleeves and serve watered down matcha drinks. On Sunday (near 8AM), I ordered the hot Americano ($4) and iced Matcha ($6.50). The lady at the register is helpful and friendly, and they prepared the drinks under three minutes. Unfortunately, the iced Matcha barely tasted like matcha. Instead, I tasted only diluted milk. Thankfully, the drink didn't have much ice, so there was a lot of green milk to sip. I felt extremely underwhelmed since the lady at the register had recommended it. Concerning the hot Americano, the caffeine is weak. Also, I noticed that the hot Americano was double cupped. They explained that they don't even have cardboard sleeves to hold the hot beverage. The cups are thin, so the two thin cups barely helped with holding the hot beverage. Thankfully, they had a cardboard tray to assist me. Regarding ambiance, there's no place to sit inside since the area is cramped and small. There are outdoor seats. Overall, it's difficult to imagine returning since coffee/cafe shops is a saturated market with many alternative locations. I had an unremarkable experience, but I do appreciate the friendly staff. read more

Walked in this afternoon on a whim and was greeted immediately! I asked a couple questions and the staff answered everything kindly. I ordered the Pandan and the Cookie Butter Iced Lattes. Both drinks were made quickly and labeled. The pandan one was my favorite. It is sweetened with palm sugar and was still not too sweet which I enjoyed. I like that you can actually taste the Pandan flavor. The cookie latte was okay it just kind of tasted like milk and not like anything cookie butter related so I wouldnt get this again. Its a small menu and I cant wait to come back next time to try everything else. The only thing is that I think they put alot of whole milk in the lattes and there isnt a strong espresso taste so you can't really taste the coffee read more

Nice coffee shop. Located in front of the haven food hall. Entry only from outside. Next too junbii (but they haven't opened as of today). Drinks are good. Got iced americano. Looks small. But I'd rather have quality than volume. They only sell coffee stuff. So think espresso, cappuccino, latte, no milk tea. They have cookies and cakes too on display. Looks like interesting flavors! Staffs are nice & they make drinks fast and well. read more

Same great coffee you get at Take Ur Seat. For the first time a stand alone coffee place. If your been to Take Ur Seat you be familiar with the menu. The only difference is they now roast their own beans instead of using Arcade beans. I had my first Spanish latte using there beans and I'd say just as good. You can also purchase the beans they use. My favorites are pretty much every latte they have. Pandan, Cookie Butter, Mexican Side Car & Spanish all solid options that I can order any day. Most distinct option Pandan hard to find a Pandan latte. Great coffee place that was one thing I thought Haven City was missing was a great place and evidently they have it in Local Coffee. read more

Excited for a new local coffee shop to be down the street for my house & it absolutely meet my expectations. Customer service was absolutely amazing, The gentleman was very helpful describing all the specialty drinks. ultimately, I went with a Spanish latte, and it was absolutely delicious. if you love cinnamon and honey, this is the latte for you. Can't wait to come back. read more

I had a great experience here and recommend it! Both of the lovely women who helped out were great in explaining the coffee options, helped me choose something that would fit what I was looking for. Additionally the inside of the coffee shop is small but very welcoming. The decor and music playing was the perfect way to start the morning and enjoy my coffee. I'm no expert when it comes to coffee, however, both of the options I tried were amazing. I got the pandan latte with cold foam, and it was the perfect amount of sweetness and it had a nutty flavor to it which made it super good. I also got the Mexican sidecar latte with cold foam, this drink was sweeter but just as tasty. Unfortunately not pictured was the garlic cream cheese croissant. Super good and lots of flavor, I just ate it too fast to be able to photograph it hahaha Overall, I will definitely be coming back often because of how close it is to my work place read more

I ordered the seasonal Thai tea with 2 shots of espresso and pumpkin cold foam. This was great! Nice and creamy, not overly sweet, but you definitely need a straw because the pumpkin cold foam is REALLY thick. The vegan pandan Biscoff cookie definitely tastes vegan. It was more of a spongy muffin top, than a cookie, and a bit dry and crumbly. I didnt taste the pandan at all. I'll pass on this one next time. This is located next to haven city market, to the right, but they share the same outdoor space, so there's plenty of seating. The staff is friendly and drinks were ready in a good time, considering they had a line. read more
