We stopped at Henry's on Saturday afternoon for lunch. We were seated quickly. Most others were finishing up breakfast, which they serve till 1:00. We elected for the lunch specials. I had delicious fried shrimp and my partner had sea scallops. He said they were wonderful. Came here for breakfast on a Tuesday morning around 8:30am. There was a 15 minute wait but we were actually seated pretty quickly. Staff was friendly and greeted us immediately. They serve breakfast till 1pm and lunch starts at 11am. They serve alcohol which is nice if you enjoy a Bloody Mary or Mimosa along with breakfast. I ordered the biscuit w/ sausage gravy and a side of the corn beef hash, my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs served with hashbrown however the hashbrown are cooked with onions and when asked if we could have them without onions we were told they are already cooked with onions in them. So we went with a side of sliced tomatoes and hot cakes. The food was actually good, everything we ordered tasted great. We will come back next time we're in the area. read more

Found Henry's for lunch at the Outer Banks and got the feel it was the kind of place that locals visit year round. The menu ranged from sea food to breakfast fare and lots in between. Reconsider! I ordered the chicken breast supreme and it was hard and dry. My son's burger was very pink and undercooked so we had to send it back. The chicken strips were brown and seemed to be a generic frozen brand and the Mac-n-cheese looked like it was a couple of days old with its crusty cheese. The salad and baked potatoes were the only things I can say I enjoyed there. Just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Waitress was rude... just got seated down and our waitress asked how we was doing the bill we told her 3 times. Then she continued to say " I just don't understand" she continues to get our drinks I told her what I wanted and she said something but I couldn't hear so I asked her what she said and she raised her voice and widened her eyes and says "I said thank you". After handing out the drinks she asks for our food order well she basically screamed when my mom asked for a blt because they can't make them. Instead they can do a chicken sandwich with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. She continues to ask for our other orders my dad said he wanted to get the all you can eat popcorn shrimp to share with my 12 year old brother and once again she flipped out because you can't share all you can eats but can share a large popcorn shrimp. After that she goes to the back and grabs another waitress and starts pointing at us and talking. When the food arrives to the table a different waitress handed out some of the food and got mad because we told her it went to another person and screams for us to give it back. They screw you over when you order popcorn shrimp plates. There is the exact same amount of shrimp on a small and large plate. Way over priced. After reading several reviews indicating this is the best place in town for breakfast, we were happy to stop by for our last meal in OBX. The waitress was friendly enough but brought my beverage 20 minutes after everyone else's. When I inquired about it, she said it was on the top shelf, she couldn't reach it and would need to wait for help. The food came out with plates literally stacked on top of each other meaning my food was touching the bottoms of someone's plate. I had blueberry pancakes which were fine but cold. The sausage patty was certainly not sausage. It tasted as if someone had chewed up and spit out a mystery meat that was then fried up and served. Scallops weren't thoroughly cleaned and chewed some sand. Shrimp inedible. Scallops rubbery. Flounder dry and had legit 0 seasoning. I spit some food in a napkin. I personally have not been to Henry's, but my friend who lives in the area just lost her grandfather. On very short notice, I asked if Henry's would be willing to cater a pre-funeral gathering of the family. The owners Kim and Brittney worked with me to prepare a menu and have it delivered to the house, even though that's not a thing they normally do. For a ton of food the price was very reasonable, and I found out that the family loved everything (BBQ, fried chicken, pork chops, hush puppies, popcorn shrimp, baked beans, etc.). Feedback from family was overwhelmingly positive. I really appreciate them bending over backwards on 48-hours notice to help the family through a difficult time. read more

Breakfast was amazing!!! They're socially distancing the tables and all wearing masks, even saw them checking the staffs temperatures. We went for breakfast after watching sunrise and it was a great decision! Huge portions of food! We both had enough leftover for lunch later on.... staff was super friendly. We called in our order before picking it up because it was a large order. We were staying about 3-5 min from the restaurant. By the time we arrived, our food was ready. Service was good. We were provided with extra condiments and utensils. The food is very good and held its heat (you know sometimes breakfast items get cold fast). I ordered a BLT, it's hard to screw them up, right? Well...The bacon was microwaved and full of fat. The lettuce was completely white. Considering this is the month of July either tomatoes should've been red and rip yet were orange and mealie. The best thing about the sandwich was the mayonnaise. The no frills menu consists of your classic selections with a few special items like Crab Benedict, which was delicious. Everything we ordered was perfect and served very quickly. Henry's has been around for years. Had lunch and breakfast there many times but never dinner, until a couple of days ago. Asked if any of the fish was fresh, and was told flounder. Got fried (lightly) flounder with salad and New England clam chowder. All were hot and EXCELLENT, and at a fair price. Overall, the food in OBX is very good and Henry's was certainly no exception. The handicap parking is nowhere near the entrance door. My wife chip beef was serve cold. She say her tea taste two day old. The waitress reach over my plate to give the person sitting beside me her plate. There was no manager on duty. At least, we was told that. Have to wait at the cashier about 5 minutes just to pay for the bill, because no one was there to collect the money.
