I always bring my automatic watches to Thomas. When my Seamaster was running fast, he diagnosed and fixed it on the spot in about 15 minutes. Another time, after I accidentally left the helium release valve open, he carefully dried and cleaned the watch within a few days. And when a repair was beyond a local fix, he was honest and advised sending the watch back to Omega for a full movement replacement. I almost never write reviews, but I couldn't let this one go. I brought my in at the beginning of January for a service, a new crystal , and a polish. I was told it would take eight weeks. I called back after nine weeks and was informed that he had not yet started the service. He asked me to give him two more weeks. I called back after three weeks and he had still not started the service. He said he would let me know at the end of the week when it would be ready. He did not call me back. I had to go in and just get my watch . Such a huge waste of time. I imagine Thomas watch repair is probably good for changing batteries, but I don't think I would bring them any actual watch repair work. read more

The owner is so friendly. I brought in a Nixon watch that I thought was broken and a jeweler said had to be repaired by someone who specializes in Nixon, then referredme here. Another piece of advice I received was that I had to ship it to Nixon and the starting cost to repair was $150. I brought the watch in just minutes before closing and he looks at the watch and says, "it needs a battery. It needs power to work properly." We both laughed. Respecting his time, I left the watch and picked it up days later. The cost was so much less than I had braced myself for. I brought in a few other watches for battery replacement which he quickly changed out while chit chatting. Not being Nixon watches, those batteries cost much less. There is a private parking lot and street parking available. Two thumbs up! read more

Normally I can set the time on my Automatic Chronograph 44mm men's watch by pulling out the crown a little and rotating to the correct time. One day it appeared something had fallen off track, and I was no longer able to adjust the time. Brought my watch to Thomas and he said he was able to repair it within a day or so. My watch was fixed within a day and Thomas showed me in detail what had happened. A pin required for adjusting the time had been displaced. There's NO way I could have opened the watch to have fixed this. IN addition, if I had sent the watch to the manufacturer, it would have taken a long time and lot more $$$$. My jeweler recommended I go to Thomas, and I saw that another reviewer said their jeweler recommended Thomas to them as well. So I already had a very positive opinion prior to visiting. I dropped by to get my new-to-me neo-vintage Tudor with unknown service history checked because the winding action felt tight and I was unsure of the gasket condition for this 30 year old timepiece. Thomas opened it up on the spot with the appropriate Rolex caseback opening tool and inspected the movement and gaskets. He even greased the crown tube gasket while he was in there. He then put my watch in the pressure tester and while we waited for the results, he explained how manufacturers can vary on how much grease they apply inside the mainspring barrel and that can have an effect on how loose or tight the manual winding action feels. The pressure test finally came back and my watch is water resistant to 50 meters, so now I don't have to worry about splashing water on it. I am thrilled to have my watch inspected and tested while I wait instead of sending it to the Rolex Service Center where they would've charged me an assessment fee on top of what they charge to service the watch, plus being without the watch for weeks. Here I was able to walk in and walk out with the service I needed and I got to chat with someone who you could really tell is passionate about horology. I will be returning to Thomas to service my other timepieces as well. Very highly recommended read more

Thomas doesn't follow through with recalibrating your chronograph after changing out the battery. I have a Swiss (men's watch). It has two buttons, one on the top right side (at the 2 o'clock position), and one at the bottom right side (at the four o'clock position). The first button (top right) when pressed starts the timer hand on the dial, and a 10ths of a second dial on the right side of the watch face. Pressing it again stops the timer hand so you can get a reading of the time elapsed. The second button (bottom right) "resets" the timer hand so that it (and the smaller right side dial) return to the "homed" 12 o'clock position. This is the second time I've taken my timepeace to Tom and he's replaced the battery. Each time afterwards he doesn't bother recalibrating the reset button described above. As a result after a timing operation performed pressing the reset button homes it to the 11 o'clock position instead of 12. Now I have to dig out the user manual and figure out how to recalibrate this again. Tom is supposed to be a professional and should know this stuff inside and out. read more
