RI Food Fights: LORD of the Pies 2024 review Hercules is not just a take out spot. It's a sneaky little restaurant but from the outside looks like a pick up pizza spot. I was highly surprised! It has about 9 tables, a wrap around bar, dim lite, a few tvs and upscale modern decor vibe happening. The bartender works the tables. Little establishment but felt cozy. The pizza: Greek style, maybe too much sauce but flavorful. The crust is a little basic. Honey chili wings: well done is the way to go. The sauce was tasty! Also not too overpowering. THEY HAVE THE GOOD BLUE CHEESE! mozzarella sticks: Can you mess up mozarwlla sticks? On par. Their marinara had a good flavor but a little thin. We will sneak in again!

Hercules Pizza in Slatersville delivers exactly what you want from your neighborhood Greek pizza spot - reliability and comfort. Like a pat on the back from an old friend, there's something reassuring about a place that knows exactly what it is. The friendly front of house staff sets the welcoming tone, and they thoughtfully offered a perfectly sized portion for the RI Food Fights event. Their pizza hits all the classic Greek pizza notes, with a generous pour on the sauce (always a plus in my book) and good balance between cheese, toppings, and crust. The steady stream of customers tells you all you need to know - this is a trusted local favorite. And with a connecting door to the bar next door, they've got the convenience factor down too. Is it reinventing the wheel? Nope. But sometimes you just want a reliable slice from a friendly place, and Hercules delivers just that. It's the kind of comfortable local spot that keeps neighborhoods fed and happy, and there's real value in that.

Pretty good. A great sweet sauce and a tasty crust. Inside is very plain, separate bar. Parking lot is right by a sharp curve, so careful getting in and out. Prices are high compared to quanity. If you're close by, hit them up for sure. Otherwise, I don't think they're worth a special trip, but they're definitely worth trying if you're a pizza nut like me.

Pound Hill Creamery & Cafe is located right next to Beef Barn in an industrial park in North Smithfield. There are plenty of parking spaces. Pound Hill Creamery & Cafe serves Gifford's ice cream, coffee and simple breakfast foods, such as muffins, bagels, egg sandwiches and croissants. I had their egg, cheese, and sausage on a croissant. It was so very good, buttery, and fresh. For ice cream, I had their pistachio nut. I really enjoyed that the ice cream had pistachios in it. Service was absolutely wonderful and it seems there are many regulars at the cafe. When you walk in, you feel very much like at home. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

The service was good though they were helpful and efficient and I like the seating area, it's got a quaint, look to it and reasonably comfortable. They also have other things like breakfast items, muffins and cookies. I don't think the ice cream was extremely top notch what, but it was decent. The cookie dough ice-cream could have had more cookie dough in it, but other than that, it tasted pretty good. The hours are a little bit strange though they're only open in the spring through early fall. Still worth a look.

The vibe is cozy and welcoming, but there's always something going on, live music, karaoke nights, and even fundraisers that really bring the community together. The food absolutely delivers. The pizza is on point (perfect crust, great flavor), and the smashburgers are next-level. Juicy, crispy edges, everything you want in a burger. It's the kind of place where you can grab a casual dinner, hang out with friends, and end up staying way longer than you planned because the atmosphere is just that good. If you're looking for great food and a spot that actually feels like part of the community, LJ's is definitely worth checking out.

When you walk up to the door, the place seems small. Like a hole in the wall. Inside is anything but. Colorful murals, custom skateboard decks and modern art adorn the walls. Bright pops of color in between the TVs playing a variety of news and sports at the bar My friend and I were there for one thing: the 10" pub style pizza. I wasn't sure what style of pub/bar/tavern pie it would be but I was eager to find out. Our bartender was super friendly and quickly put in our order. We got two pizzas. One standard pepperoni and the other Chicken + Pickle. The pizzas came out ripping hot and smelling heavenly. The crust of these pies is more akin to a pan style pizza than what I would think of as a bar or tavern pie. It had that buttery crisp that reminds me of old school Pizza Hut (and I mean that complementary!). The sauce was a solid supporting character, the real star are the cheese and toppings here. It tastes and stretches like they use a blend of cheddar and mozzarella. The pepperoni was cooked to perfection. The cups pooling with oil and so crunchy. The chicken was quite tender and most on the other pizza, and the dill pickle taste was in full force, exactly as I was hoping! While I was hoping to find something like South Shore Bar Pie, what I did find was an awesome pub pan pizza in a spot that I've passed 100s of times. I'm glad I stopped in and I'll definitely be back. That pepperoni could not have been cooked any better

I've been dying to try this restaurant after seeing reviews and finding out it's chef owned (yes!)…read more We had reservations on a recent Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

I love the decor, deli, and the bar. It's a nice addition but I feel as though it does make the restaurant a little cramped. I stopped in last night with my partner and my dad. He was by no means rude and clearly busy but it definitely seemed as though he didn't check in as much as he could have. As for the food itself it's always been nice. Not stellar and by far not my favorite Italian places but serviceable. The prices are borderline reasonable to pricey, with my meal being $25. I would say $25 is a little steep for two pieces of chicken. However, the portions are gracious enough to leave you full but not bursting and the food always does taste fresh. My Chicken Sorrentino was good but I didn't get a lot of prosciutto which was disappointing. I'll keep coming here because it's close but if you want amazing Italian food try Federal Hill in Providence.
