The quote was great compared to other companies - some quoted double this price since it was so last minute and others could not accommodate the last minute booking. The moving crew did an amazing job moving heavy furniture and boxes from a narrow 4-story home into a storage unit. They were very efficient at the storage facility, even though one of the elevators was not working and the unit was far from the elevators. First off, Maya in the office is wonderful! We had logistic issues on the original date we were scheduled due to our transport trailer not fitting in the apartment complex loading dock or parking lot. She was able to reschedule us for the next day for the movers to meet at the trailer storage yard to transport our belongings to the complex in their truck instead. She called to check up on us during the move and is a pleasure to work with. The movers; Andrew, Junior and Rolando were also a pleasure to work with. They showed up and got right to work...between unloading the transport into their truck, an hour drive to the complex and bringing up all our stuff to the 7th floor they were done in a little over 3 hours. They were careful with all of our furniture and made sure it was safe from damage during transport and unloading. I was so impressed with this H&N Movers that I went with them a second time. I had to move 7 pieces of furniture from Potomac to Gaithersburg. I called Maya, the office manager, on Sunday and booked the move for Thursday, October 28. One of the main reasons this company stands out is because you get to speak to someone. Unlike other companies that have automated systems, at H&N Movers, it is Maya that picks up the phone and does the booking. On the day of the move, Andrew and Sergei arrived promptly at the location. I showed them the items to be loaded. They wrapped each items in special moving blankets and started loading. They took extreme care not to damage the furniture, especially the glass-top table I saw how they removed the glass top and carefully wrapped it in a blanket. Once everything was loaded they were on their way to my home in Gaithersburg. To make room for the new furniture, we had to remove the existing furniture in the rooms, such as dressers, tables, sofa, etc. They brought all the furniture down and put it in the garage and one large sofa in the basement. After that they unloaded the cargo van and started putting the items in the respective rooms. For anyone that thinks that moving is easy, it is not. Andrew and Sergei, two very strong guys, made it look easy! They were courteous and did not make a fuss about moving any item. The bottom line is if you want your moving experience to be flawless, efficient, and done with care, you need to give H&N Movers a call. Yes, there are many movers out there. I can't praise these guys highly enough. It's not just that they were prompt, curteous and professional. This is what one expects from a business. But these guys went way beyond. My exercise equipment was complex and the space on the third floor of my house was tight. They encountered problems, from worn out screws (they replaced) to a smaller than usual attic doorway (they removed and then replaced the door) and finally to a ceiling that was too low for the equipment to fit without partially taking it apart, standing it up, and then reassembling it when it was in a vertical position. WOW! They also scraped off existing sliders from the bottom of the equipment, meant for carpeted floors, and expertly replaced them with felt pads more appropriate to my newly installed oak flooring that I provided. Then they brought up other heavy pieces of furniture and placed them where I asked--and they worked so quickly, and so neatly, that a job I'd dreaded for months was over in no time. Everything about my move went GREAT. Scheduling with the manager on Yelp - was easy. The manager Maya was very informative and direct. She answered all my questions without a need to do more research. I recieved a quote very quickly and they honored every bit of the agreement. The moving time was very accurate. The movers were careful, listened carefully to our instructions on handling items, they were protected, they provided the truck space and equipment to move items. Finally the movers were very accountable. They called to inform me the estimated time they would arrive at the next and final destination (they had to take a permitted route no private roads), when they arrived they asked if we had specific instructions, they were careful and performed our move efficiently. No wasted time or space. I have to emphasize that these guys (Rolando, JR and Andrew) are experts at packing the truck carefully and effectively for space.
