Very interesting little speakeasy. We loved the adventure to find the place tucked into a gated alley. From the moment you walk in you are taken aback by their eclectic decor. The vibe is dark and the music was chefs kiss, perfection. Old school and underground hip hop on a Thursday night. Their menu is adorable. The drinks are a bit pricey for Texas but well worth the atmosphere you're enjoying them in. Service was fantastic. Attentive and down to earth. Definitely recommend! Also! They give you a small glass of sparkling wine when you come in served on a platter held by a giant bear. Loved!

HNT continues to be one of my favorite speakeasies! It's been two years since my initial visit, and I'm happy to say that it has the same sultry vibe that I enjoyed the first time around. Reservations are still required, however my date and I were able to walk in without one because he has connections. Reservations can now be made on Open Table. You no longer have to download their app. The bar was decorated for the holidays (including Rasputin lol). The dim red lighting created a romantic atmosphere. They had a nice playlist going as well. I can't recall our server's name but she was so nice as were all of the staff. The drink menu is seasonal and is typically presented as a story book. At the time of our visit (December 2025), the theme was Lone Star Living. They also had a holiday menu. Some of the featured drinks on the holiday menu were coffee based as part of a collaboration with Desnudo Coffee. I ordered the Desert Water. It had Sotol which caught my attention when I was browsing the menu. The cocktail had such a smokey and unique flavor that is hard to describe but it was very enjoyable! The rectangular block of ice in the glass was a nice touch. I love this place so much! Hopefully it won't take me another two years to return.

My gfs and I were on a girl trip and wanted to explore as many of Austin's speakeasies as we could. This was my bar my favorite! The whole vibe here was sexy! Service great and the drinks delicious! I ordered a No Tie Rule

Second favorite cocktail bar of our trip. Their menu is wow factor in terms of art and ingredients. Bartenders are super talented. Had a great experience here. Ambiance is very relaxed and you almost feel out of the world.

This spot is pure magic. The moment you walk in, you know you're about to be taken on a journey. Their menu isn't just a list of drinks...it's a story, beautifully curated and seasonally refreshed while still honoring classics that keep regulars coming back. The cocktails are exquisite, the service is intentional and warm, and every visit feels like an experience rather than just a night out. My personal favorite is the Milk & Honey. I'm never saying no to a clarified milk drink, and this one is exceptional...silky, balanced, and unforgettable. It's serviced in a delicate tea cup. A must for anyone who wants their evening elevated in the most delicious way.

What a cool speakeasy! Make sure to have a reservation to get a code to enter. After walking down some stairs you will be greeted by a hostess and a giant bear! Drinks were really innovative. My favorite was the Slainte. On the sweet side but great for an end of night dessert like cocktail.

Must go in Austin!! This speakeasy is incredible. Hidden by the Driskill Hotel, you need a reservation to figure out your way in. This time, the drinks were actually Texas themed. They are pricey but you could not make these at home. The ingredients were unmatched from other bars I have been to. You are greeted with prosecco and the spaces there are comfy. Well worth the visit!!

Sometimes in life you must compromise. Since I interrupted my friend's fall cleaning process to have a drink with me, she asked me to go to a speakeasy with her. Needless to say, going to a speakeasy was not in my evening plans. However, I compromised and went with her spontaneously head first into this adventure. Let me just say, this was the coolest, cloak and dagger experience! First, she made reservations while I was driving. We were given a code, 1415 (likely a one-time use code). When we arrive we had to enter this code into a keypad and then a rod iron gate opened. We were in...well almost. Can you hear the James Bond 007 music playing in the background? Then we were greeted by a doorman who said we had to wait to get the go ahead from the receptionist downstairs. Greenlight! We walk downstairs these wooden steps as our shoes clacked loudly. Graffiti was plastered on all walls surrounding the stairs. The area was rather dark and dank. This is when you think...why isn't your bootay at home? Is this a good idea? Is there only one way in and one out? Of course, your curiosity is greater than fear. Then we open the door to enter inside. We were given a miniature glass of prosecco that we got from a tray held by about at 10 foot stuffed bear. Next, we had to go through dark, heavy, velvety curtains...ok our hearts are pumping now. We passed the two-seat booths that appeared to be carved into the wall. Next, we passed by a rather large semi-enclosed room with many metal plates nailed to the wall. Before arriving at our seats, we passed by low height sofas and chairs in a lounge area. If we sat down there, we may not be able to stand up. Smile. The speakeasy was so dark you could barely see the menu. BTW...no flash photography is allowed. Initially, my friend said no photography was allowed, but she reread our reservation. It was so dark inside, flash or no flash you could barely see. Next, for the grand finale, the drinks. The cheapest drink was $20 with most drinks $22-$23. Have I been living under a rock? Do people really pay this much for drinks. No wonder it has been years since I have been to 6th Street. Well, we were there and "must" have a drink. My friend order the Don's Fish Camp (vodka drink) and I ordered the Milk and Honey (according to our server Parker it tasted like rum punch). We tasted each other's drinks. I have to say my tasted better...pure luck, of course. My friend's drink came in a tall glass with a metal looking straw. Wait for it...my drink came in a tea cup with a saucer! First time I have ever had an adult beverage in a tea cup with saucer....so cool! There was an ice block at the center of my tea cup. They also have some equally high priced bar food, which we opted not to buy. We were still recovering from the shock associated with the cost of the drinks. The music permeating the speakeasy was unexpected, yet enjoyable...pop | hip hop |afro beats genre: ***Shooter - Chris Brown ***After Hours - Kehlani ***Asiwaju - Ruger We had one drink and we exited our cloak and dagger adventure. This is one the coolest experiences we have had...super cool!!!

What a vibe! I love that we were greeted with Proseco upon entering, how chic! So glad my friend made a resy for our group of 4 for this place. He said it's one of the best speakeasy he has been too, and I get why. First off, the music was amazing, honestly I should have asked them for there Spotify playlist, because it was jamming. Super moody, with minimal lights, and no phone flashes allowed, so it felt exclusive, somehow. But I would have loved a well-lit selfie (double entendre), with my cute cocktail. The storybook menu is cute, and changes periodically. Looks like the next menu change is in the fall and will be a TX theme, yeehaw! Service - was pretty much a well-oiled machine. Explaintion up front about 90 minute resy (and they stick to it), easily seated and quick checkout experience, was great. Parker- our server, was full of ideas and willing to help. And was able to lead us to our ideal cocktails of choice, for everyone to enjoy. He checked on us frequently. Drinks- Petal Talk, my cocktail was well bodied, if you get me. My friends loved there cocktails: Milk & honey, Since Eden, Corner store classic, and First single too. We didn't want to leave. Cheers!

Drinks were fun! But you finish in 3 sips bc they have huge blocks of ice :( not cool The place was so cool! Definitely want to come again bc their menu is always changing and the servers are also engaging with the theme of the menu

This is a drink my date ordered - can't remember what it was called but it came with olives and was very dry like a martini!

Came back to here not there finally on a Saturday with some friends! The last time I came was a year ago on a date. I was greeted with the same friendliness and attentiveness as I remember from last time. The menu changed a little bit, but some of the drinks I recognized from last time e.g. the "milk and honey." We each got something different and tried each others' drinks - I had the "Sex Goddess Wine," and I tried the "birthday cake," the "petal talk," and the "purple maize." Mine and the petal talk were the most booze-forward of them; mine had a bit of a licorice/herbal taste, and the petal talk was like a sour mezcal with a hint of herbal flavoring. The birthday cake was like a Bailey's Irish cream milkshake, and had a piece of white chocolate in it lol. The purple maize was sweeter, more tiki-like but my friend that got it still felt it was too booze forward/she didn't like it and they gave her a different drink (the milk and honey! Which is definitely sweeter and has pineapple in it). Overall we all enjoyed our drinks in the end and the ambiance was low light and kinda sexy, just like I remember (great for dates, but also hanging with the friends!). Will always rec a visit here to anyone in town if you can get a res :)

I love coming to Here Nor There for a special occasion. The vibes inside are amazing and the bartenders are so knowledgeable. The menu changes every so often but is always so beautifully designed and thoughtfully created. Had the privilege of trying some holiday specials through a partnership with Desnudo and the Tiramiso was one of the best espresso martinis I've had! Highly recommend this spot.

Beautiful hidden speakeasy with great lighting, great drinks, and great music. The alley is a little sketch but I think that adds to the speakeasy experience. Our servers were very knowledgeable and everyone was friendly. Very cute date spot!

Ask the Community - Here Nor There

Is there parking or do we need to uber?

There is street parking. It would be better to uber though.

What kind of food is offered there?

When we went there were bar snacks/small bites. No actual meals that will get you "full".

Do they offer non-alcoholic drink options?

Yes they had two or three on their new menu!

What is the price range for cocktails? I know it's upscale but I was wondering if it's around the same prices of other Austin bars.

$20-$25 for all drinks and there were one or two that were highly priced cut very specialized

Would you be able to accommodate someone under 21?

I don't believe so, since this is a bar. They carded everyone at the door.

    Are reservations required?

Yes, you haven to make reservations through their app. The app is the same name.

I have a reservation for 3 but one of our group may have to drop, is that okay if just the 2 of us show up?

You can let them know but that should be fine. Usually having less people show up isn't an issue. If there will be more than the original number of people in the reservation, then that's a different story and would need to let them know to… Read more

    Is there a dress code?

Not explicitly but most people are dressed business casual. Nothing too crazy.

    How do I make reservations?

You can call when they're open, or you can book through the app that you can download over the website

When the reviews say " you need to become a member prior to entering" does that mean pay the 500$ membership fee listed on the app or just download the APP & request a reservation? Thank you!

Just download the app and reserve

We waited maybe 15 minutes at the walk-in line as others progressively started to pile on behind us. Then again, even people in the reservation line were waiting. This is definitely the kind of place that wants you to wait. The kind of place that wants to build a line outdoors to intrigue onlookers. We were treated nicely, but we definitely could have gotten in right away. By the time we walked in, the place was probably at 60% capacity. It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. They ask for your cellphones upon entering and give you a key in exchange, but there doesn't seem to be any security to enforce it if you don't want to give them up. I have no problem with their policy, but I bet a lot of customers do. Interestingly, their little social experiment seemed to have a positive effect, where we ended up talking to strangers and vice versa. The Powder Room may be making America social again.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
