If I could give zero stars I would. First when I ordered, the lady working could not speak or understand me. I ordered the halibut sandwich, which was mystery fish with wilted lettuce and tomatoes with no tartar sauce. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and she was spitting out "chunks of stuff". I love these burgers! The meat and veggies are so fresh! The burger is also moist and juicy. My favorite thing though, is the strawberry milkshake. With chunks of berries that get stuck in the straw. I love to get a large, drink half, and then put the other half in the freezer so that I get more the next day. The service is also very good. My kids also love these burgers and my husband loves the terriyaki. There is enough variety to please anyone. I have to admit though, because I love their burger so much, I don't eat anything else (not even fries--gotta save room for the burger and shake). read more

Third time is NOT a charm! We tried...many times, but we're done. Hamburgers used to be good, but they changed to cheap buns, popcorn chicken(?) I think not, I have no idea what these little sort-of round, rectangular nuggets were, but they were NOT chicken! Chili dog was sub-par. Soggy fries (was my fave item). Best burger place in the Seattle area (yes, Seattle and surrounding areas)! I had read a few good reviews and decided to try it when I was in Edmonds. The place is small and does not seem like much but I had my mind set on a burger. Honestly, it was WOW! I ordered a cheese burger no onion, and my husband got a burger with ketchup only (he wanted to test burger quality alone). We both devoured our burgers. I ate it so fast I forgot to take pictures. This place has solid burgers at a great price. These are the classic drive-in style burgers. The patties are pretty big so a single patty could be enough and a double is very big. I love coming here. Standard greasy spoon burger place. One of the things that does make this place different is that the menu is huge. They have both a veggie option and a number of sea food burgers, including catfish and salmon. They also have a huge list of fried side orders enough to make even the biggest fast food dinner a little queasy. Prices are one the low side but you do get alot for the amount. read more

New owners a few years ago changed the menu and 'value engineered' the prep to the point where a frozen burger from a grocery store would be better. What happened to the herfys I knew? Everything was frozen!!!! Burgers tasted bland, like frozen McDonald's patties. Fries were generic, the ingredients for the shake tasted like canned pie toppings. The bun wasn't good, the fish was awful. The best part was the courtesy of the lady who helped us. And the tartar, which tasted like ballet or best foods. We will never be going back, and will be sad as we will be mourning another lost American burger joint. read more

While I was satisfied with my food it was not a meal that is going to lure my return on a regular basis. The fries appear to be standard crinkle cut variety, the milkshake was small and expensive but was a real milkshake and was very good. The hamburger...large 1/3 lb patties but they cook up very dry with processed flavor. The rest of the toppings were sparse and added little. Appeared to be mustard and catsup on it. Tasty enough over all, just nothing special. There do appear to be a few different types of burgers. The "new" Herfys have teriyaki, fish and chips and a few other items as well. I like the people who run this place, they're always really nice and give great portions. Their facility is clean and good ambience, good magazines , a space heater and plenty of condiments and napkins etc.. However, tonight I ordered a burger, fries, and fried mushroom. The flavor was good, but a little greasy and I couldn't help but notice the cook was not wearing gloves at any point while handling the food. I didn't get sick or feel like they aren't clean, I thought the state board required gloves when handling food thats all. The lettuce was quite wilted but I had about 15 min ride home so that maybe makes sense, and I honestly wasn't sure how fresh the mushrooms were but the flavor was good just tasted maybe mushrooms were frozen or not the freshest. read more

Overpriced, crinkle fries like from a freezer bag, beef patties from another freezer bag. My burger was served with mayo, ketchup, and mustard, I don't care for mustard on my burgers. Salmon didn't have the greatest flavor either. Not worth it if you ask me. read more

Nothing Special Here. Double cheeseburger tasted like frozen patties with old buns. Onion Rings were good but not great. I ordered a Chocolate banana milkshake turns out they use banana syrup instead of real bananas so I just got a Chocolate milkshake. Milkshake was poorly mixed and didn't taste very good. Service was good. Staff was friendly. I had eaten here a few years back and was left with a favorable impression. Just got a burger for lunch and got to say it was one of the worst burgers I had. Hard bun, no flavor patty and stale fries that should be sold to anyone. It's burger kinda hard to mess it up. Yet they have managed just that. Stay away your local MacDonald will do you more justice then this place. read more

I Thought all the true hamburger places were gone and we were left with over processed corporate joints but Herfys is the real deal! best burger I have had in years and the milkshake selection is to die for. If you truly love a good burger, do yourself a favor and go to herfy's. I must warn you though, because of herfy's I can no longer eat burgers anywhere else. I am surprised by some of the negative reviews on here. Just moved to Edmonds and have eaten here twice. The philly cheese steak and the clam strips were both very good. Also had a chocolate and peanut butter shake in hopes it tasted like Reece's and it absolutely did. It was also very think which I love in a shake. I really wanted to love this little place. I drive by during my work commute and the curb appeal is just that, curb appeal. Was hoping for a lovely little neighborhood burger joint and instead it's actually the opposite. Yes, the burgers are on the menu however get lost in the shuffle. That being said, I ordered the special, Jalapeño burger, fries and a coke. I got just that a bun with a paddy, Jalapeno and a slice of cheese. I've had worse but can make better. A little sauce or maybe a squirt of ketchup would have sufficed at this point. Here's the catch... The 2 stars actually comes from the service (just because it was almost humorous, I added a star). I paid, sat down, began to look around (the place was empty) and it was very dirty. The kind lady took my $$ so quickly then disappeared just as quick behind the curtain. Showed her face again to serve my plate and yet again disappeared. So as I ate I got to listen to the television show her and her cook we're watching behind the curtain. I wiped down my table (I thought I could lend a cleaning hand, thinking they would chime in?!), discarded my left overs, pushed my chair in, returned the basket to the counter top, refilled my soda to go, said thank you and goodbye to a curtain with the very loud T.V. and the 2 people I swear were there somewhere but never saw again. Stopped by for 2 cheeseburgers meals and the place only had one customer ahead of us when we arrived. 20 minutes later the guy gives my order to a couple who arrived 10 minutes after me. The gal who was given my order looks at me and say's "sorry" as her male friend is tugging at her arm saying "Come on, let's go" knowing full well... I'm at the counter and the guy won't acknowledge I'm there. When he finally turns around I said "you gave my order to that couple" his response is "you'll just have to wait". Oh really?!
