yeah, not great. My first time dealing with this company they're located Marysville Rd very close to my (new) home. I took over this property, Brown's gas owned the tank so naturally I called them. But before I could call them they showed up. Twice. once when we weren't home (the previous owner contacted me and told me via cell) and then the second time we were home the driver, randy, very nice guy and I spoke, he was told that we had not transferred service yet and he made it clear to me that he couldn't put any gas in the tank until I did that and of course I said yes I understand how commerce works I haven't had a chance to do this yet and you just showed up out of the blue. Again. I'm sure the previous owner told them that they sold the property when they showed up the last time and spoke to her. Lol. So I went to the Browns Gas office to open my account - it said they were closed for lunch on the fence, it wasn't lunchtime, it was 1030a. I came back 4 hours later around 2:30 PM and that sign was still up. This time I learned my lesson and called to make sure they were there. I came back the following Monday and when I mentioned that they said there just wasn't anyone there that day and fair enough I understand it's a rural company I guess. I opened an account and deposited money to get a delivery and was told they'd "let me know when that could be", roughly a few days later they let me know when they were coming and I asked what time frame and they said they couldn't give a time frame. I've run a service company for 30 years I found that amusing so I thought they must have meant they won't know until that day when they set up his delivery route so today is the day and I called and I spoke with Sam in the office. She assured me that she could not tell me any time frame when the driver would arrive and when I said that sounds odd, never heard of that, she seemed pretty indignant explaining to me that the driver is operating a vehicle filled with explosive gas and that because of this very reason they cannot offer a time frame to which I of course replied doen't that argue against not knowing where your driver is? in fact you should have a precise schedule for a driver that you're turning loose with a gigantic 20 ton bomb, you should know exactly where they are at all times or at the very least within a 2-3 hour time window. She remained indignant clearly regarding my comment as out of line. So here I sit with dogs put away, m gate open and unable to leave all day long because a service company cannot figure out a delivery schedule the day of - I've had other propane companies, this has never been a problem, no one else does this as far as I know. also it is weird to me that the last Yelp review here is 2 years ago. I get yelp reviews every week and my business is not large. If people aren't writing positive reviews you're doing something wrong And if you've been in business as long as they have and you only have a handful of reviews at all you're really doing something wrong and judging by their overall rating on Yelp I'd say that's confirmation. The lady who books the appointments is very rude. The first call she was short and told me it would be sometime next week that they could come fill our tank. She mentioned that if it was empty, which it isn't, that there would be a fee. Then today she called and said that they would come tomorrow between 7:30 am and 5 pm. This is my business location, which is behind a gate and no o e is there on Saturday. So I asked if she could narrow the time down. She said NO. I asked if the driver could call and give me a heads up and she said that the driver can't call while driving. I asked if he could call when he wasn't driving. She said that she could put it on the tag but it's not guaranteed. That's it. I'm switching providers...and we have been with them for 20 years. read more

This company is by far the biggest rip off gas company iv ever delt with. They not only took my 400 dollar deposite and applied it for gas that was already paid for in my tank when i moved into my house , but after my inspection they turned on my gas and within 1 month my 250 gallon tank was empty. I have only my wife and I at my house with 2 gas appliances. Hot water and heat. Unbelievable. Then when i got my bill was 500+ dollars ontop of the 400 deposte. So i called to have them come out again to inspect and they told me my heater was faulty and they were not responsible for not catching that in the appliance inspection they do before they turn on gas. UNBELEIVABLE. ID TAKE STARS AWAY FOR THIS COMPANY IF IT WAS A OPTION. SO GOOD JOB BROWNS GAS , AND THANKS FOR THE BAD CREDIT BECAUSE I WILL NOT EVER PAY YOU!!!!! BEWARE TO ALL!!!!! thanks. I am extremely happy with this gas company. I bought a new house that uses propane and didn't have a tank, they helped me every step of the way. They fill the tank whenever they are in our neighborhood that way we never run out. They have great customer service and allow me to make payments :) very friendly and great customer service! read more

I love Brown's Gas Co! My driver cleans around my tank and stops by every month to fill me up. But if for some reason I do happen to run out of gas, they can be there that same day to fill me up! They work with me on a payment plan as well, making my entire experience more enjoyable and affordable too! read more

I thought I couldn't get a worse gas company than what I had in San Diego county, but I was wrong. These people don't listen or record anything you say,and so get it wrong every time, and give wrong instructions to delivery men (who are all very good).They have poor communications. The incompetent office help says I was rude (hung up, because she won't hear me out--and that's rude). But I asked for a call from their manager. Never got it. In the middle of winter, with no notice, they're picking up the tank. And for $94 disputed. Because of their communications failure and delivering propane I did not ask for while I'm away. See, I took over my deceased mom's tank, who had a "keep full" order. First thing I told them I wanted only 100 gallons and only "will call" after that. Day the man came out, I called office to remind them 100 gal, but when I saw him filling tank he had already put 197 gal in to fill up. I agreed to pay gradually, because of huge moving costs already laid out. Following spring I paid off for that, but they did not let me know I had half a tank rental thrown in. 4 months later, while away, they returned to put more gas in--but nozzle on unit broke. Ended with 21 gal added. I caught two other guys trying to put in propane and again said only when I call! They did not tell me about the 21 gallons either. Flash forward to this year, and demand for $94 that I know nothing about. Finally I got manager, who straightened whole thing out--too late. Misunderstanding could have been avoided by one call to me, and could have kept tank. Lousy company! But there are others. One star is too many. Drivers are great, but it's not worth it. read more
