The modern, bright furniture is super comfortable and I loved all the orange decor. Their menu has a lot of traditional Indian dishes dotted with specialties as well. This place is so great! The service at Heritage Indian Grill was very good. We were sat immediately upon walking in and never had to wait for a sever to come over. The food was fantastic. So much flavor and texture. The cauliflower appetizer was saucy, yet crunchy, and so tasty. My entrée was Lamb Tikka Masala. The rice was done to perfection and the tikka masala sauce was so rich and bursting with different notes of spices. The lamb chunks were plentiful and tender. This Indian place was a great find during our visit to Lake Placid. We went in the early afternoon and were actually the only two people in the restaurant. The chairs were comfortable, the glasses were small goblets which were fun. Service was quick, the servers were always available and checked in frequently. The food was absolute perfection. We had Lassoni Gobi (deep fried cauliflowers) as an appetizer with medium spice which was great. Highly recommend. For dinner, I ordered a chicken tikki masala and garlic naan which was very tasty. Was looking for something that was not pub food in Lake Placid, so was happy to find something ethnic in town. Ordered butter chicken, naan, and mango lassi. The food was good, I asked for medium spicy and it had quite the kick so stick with mild if you are sensitive to heat. Portions were very generous. They offered papad/chutneys and chai complimentary. On the next day, I ordered take out paneer biryani and it also came with papad/chutneys and raita (one portion was more than enough for two people). Finally an Indian restaurant on the Lake Placid food scene, and it was good! We walked in on a Sunday evening at 6:30p; nobody was answering the phone for reservations. It was a little chaotic to get a table, and there was a wait of about an hour before we could get our entrees (we were notified of the wait before sitting down). Got chicken lollipop, butter chicken, dal tadka, the food was delicious and the service was great. Place was tastefully decorated. But it felt a little mismanaged at the beginning. We saw all the good reviews and had to try this new spot out. You walk in and it's absolutely gorgeous. Clean, comfy seating, and such nice staff. We ordered samosas and chicken momos as apps, and chicken tikka masala and lamb korma as the main course. A very large menu. They have a crazy amount of different naans, too. I did not stay in to wait, but look forward to returning with friends. Staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered chicken korma, lamb biryani, saag paneer and naan. Delicious! Spice in the korma was ordered as medium and was not overly aggressive. We love spice/heat and will order a higher level next time. Naan was light and flakey while the saag paneer had the delicious creamy texture I love. Biryani had succulent lamb chunks and amazingly light and delicious rice. Entrees we tried were the Buttered Chicken and Shrimp Korma both served with side dishes of rice. It was nice that we could choose our level of spice preference. I chose mild and my husband medium! Both came to our liking. For dessert we had the mango and the pistachio kulfi, both tasted icey and refreshing. We also sampled Kheer which was a sweet rice pudding type dessert. Amazing! The moment we walked in we caught the unmistakable scent of delicious authentic Indian cuisine. Friendly service, beautiful setting, and outstanding food. The best garlic naan we've ever had...hot, crisp and perfectly garlicky with the right amount of cilantro. The papadam and chutneys were delicious. Amazing Amazing Restaurant, 7 star ambience, Excellent food and presentation, great customer service, Heritage Indian Grill truly made our Lake Placid trip well-worth it! We went back 3 times during our 4-day stay in Adirondack in March 2025, and still craving its food after returning home. Must try their 'Samosa Chaat', their Naans were crispy and buttery like we wanted, and Tandoori Aalu Pranthas were beautifully presented and tasted delicious.
