I had a very disappointing experience here recently. My friend and I clearly ordered fries with our meal, but when the food finally arrived after an incredibly long wait, the fries were missing. When we pointed this out, one employee was helpful and told us he would take care of it. However, a man I assume was the manager then stuck his head out of the window and completely vetoed that decision, refusing to provide the fries we had ordered. To make matters worse, when I tried to speak with him about the mistake, he had a terrible attitude. By the time we actually got to eat, the food was already cold. Between the long wait, the missing items, and the lack of basic customer service, I won't be coming back. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

I was told that they normally do not do multiple different types of meats in their plates/bowls, but I really wanted shrimp and chicken so they accommodated. The shrimp was my favorite out of the whole thing. Those little guys were delicious! Seasoned and flavored well, and most importantly cooked all the way through. The chicken on the other hand was alright. Next time I would just get shrimp on its own either in the bowl or the tacos. The rice is alright, and so are the beans. I believe guacamole is normally on these two plates but they were out so I did not get to try it. The green salsa was tasty, not spicy. I must say, the pictures on the truck are quite deceiving. They looked nothing like the dishes I was given. Their pictures of their steak on their truck was shown in slices at about medium rare. Such a rip off! Went to their food truck during a music festival, the pictures of quesadillas were inviting. The menus showed no prices. Imagine our shock when a simple quesadilla was almost $30 with tax!! First I had to go ask for napkins and ketchup for the fries and got a dirty look. And then we realized it didn't have any of the condiments listed -'sour cream, guacamole or salsa. We went to ask for them we were told "NO". We said they were listed on the menu and he said the menu was wrong. After getting really loud so other customers could hear, he begrudgingly gave us tiny 1oz portions of each. [Review #386] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (35/100) Heritage LA is an infrequent food truck on The Reserve's food truck rotation schedule. I wasn't too fond of my initial meal: HERITAGE BOWL (grassfed flat iron steak, house blend creamy grains, organic baby greens, farmer market veggies, crispy onions, chimichurri sauce). The steak was overcooked, dry, & barely warm; the greens weren't properly dried so the sauce was diluted; the creamy grains were mushy. :-( Working all morning & nearly the end of lunch, I ran out to the truck just before closing... though I love all things chimichurri, I wasn't in the mood for a past repeat. Instead, I ordered the FIESTA BOWL (grilled chicken, green salsa, pico de gallo, queso fresco, avocado, farro succotash, baby greens, vegetable blend, cherry tomatoes). Even though there was only 1 person ahead of me, it took about 10-mins. to get my order. Overall customer service was also better: service with a smile, more napkins (got only 1 last time & needed more to soak up the water from the greens), & the offer of hot sauce. The Fiesta Bowl was a thing of beauty! =) I asked for some sriracha & was on my way... I was actually looking forward to eating my lunch, & I was my usual hangry self. I tried the grilled chicken first, & it was tasty! However, there were a couple of "tougher" pieces that was hard to swallow. :-| I liked the harmony & balance of the Fiesta Bowl wayyyyyy more than the Heritage Bowl... better flavor, crisp veggies, & I especially loved the avocado!! I think there was some chili/spice in there. I didn't have time to investigate as I was eating (inhaling) my bowl & working simultaneously. :-O Typical food truck price points -- on the expensive side -- but fair portion considering its prices. My daughter and I split a burger yesterday... and subsequently we both split food poisoning. Towards the end of the burger I noticed it was pretty raw so I threw it away and didn't think anything of it until 3am when I was woken up to my daughter who projectile vomited all over her room. Worst Mexican food I've had. This truck was at "Nights of the Jack" last night. It was incredibly expensive for what it is ($84 for 2 chicken bowls, 1 chicken quesadilla and 1 asada fry) and there's no prices on the menu. The man taking orders couldn't remember our order to save his life, we had to repeat it 3-4 times and a second person still had to come over and correct it. Once we received our food we were disappointed to find that the chicken looked and tasted like it came out of a can, the black beans and rice were incredibly undercooked and everything was very under seasoned. Also, I have never seen/had a chicken quesadilla with shredded chicken before this truck and I never want to again. read more

Disappointing experience today at this food truck, during the LA Beer Festival. I had such high hopes for this place as I circled the food truck area for a healthy seafood option. No line, I ordered a $17 Salmon bowl added egg no rice or sauce I repeated due to allergies. What I got, rice and sauce w a greasy egg on top. When I asked the girl cashier to please fix the order, she gave me attitude, took my bowl, half attempted to take the rice off, left rice residue all over my bowl and didn't give me more greens to compensate for taking away part of my order. Plus, this still didn't solve there being sauce covered in everything. There was no lie or wait and I respectfully repeated my order. This truck was located at the Burton Chace Park for the special New Years Eve event. The line was long but was a little shorter than the other trucks there. The menu looked promising till we heard they were out of all the sandwiches. Another downside was they would stop the line every so often so that the get the orders done we waited about a hour and some minutes total from waiting to ordering to getting the food. I got the chicken pesto fries which were ok they were not bad but was filling. Overall not bad of a truck I really wanted to try the shrimp sandwich maybe next time if I happen to run into them again somewhere. read more

On my 2nd visit I had their salmon bowl with dark greens, avocado, beans etc. It was fantastic, super healthy and even better than my first visit which was great. Service by Joe was on point, fast and courteous. There is alot of food and for under $12 the value can't be beat for the high quality. Heritage is one of my favorite food trucks in LA. They were parked across from LACMA Museum(mid wilshire) and are there frequently. read more

I was expecting way much more quality tasting food. Flavors seemed to be an afterthought and the customer service was rude. The worst thing was after ordering A California Bowl and asking for the chicken to be cooked well done, I was Served undercooked food as well with the Heritage Bowl and Chimichurri Fries. They didn't have their prices on the menu, because with just a bowl and a 12 oz bottle of water, the cost was $23 dollars. When I had asked for a water cup, the employee told me they didn't have any. I just don't agree with overcharging people just because there is a demand for food at the con. There was alot of cheaper alternatives that we later found out about, but we were already suckered into paying the cost because they didn't list their prices. read more

Honestly, for $15+ a bowl, very dissatisfied. I went to Jackalope in Pasadena and came across them. This is my 2nd time at the event and it was much smaller than my 1st one. Anyways, their bowls looked good in the pictures.. no line and I was starving so I went ahead and ordered the heritage bowl. My husband came and asked for pricing and ran off anyways, I got my bowl.. the meat was cold... it wasn't steak.. it was more like meatloaf.. the combination of the bowl was mediocre. We went to the Pasadena jackelope festival and we were starving. They are very sneaky! They do not have pricing on anything. Two of us with waters cost 44 dollars! My husband got a burger and I got the heritage bowl! They were nice but forgot about my bowl. So others were getting there food but not us. We have a 19 month old so I have my time period of when I can eat. It was not 20 min after when you expect to eat. The food was fine. Nothing amazing. Not for the price to be honest! The mushroom burger was literally just a lukewarm portobello mushroom on a bun. Not marinated, not grilled. The only thing with flavor was the pickle, which dominated in a bad way. Bun was soaked with mushroom juice. And for $10! Bleh. Super disappointing. read more

Had a bowl at one of the Fooda Popup locations. 2nd Star is only because the quality of ingredients is okay but price and portion are ridiculous. Almost $15 for a plate that was mostly lettuce. "Spring salad" literally had one little sliver of radish and a laughable small amount of cheese. Steak portion was WAY under a quarter pound. Potatoes were a super small portion and nothing special. $15 can easily buy you a bigger tastier bowl with high quality ingredients ANYWHERE. Still hungry after eating and regretting it. I had the Heritage Bowl, and it was delicious. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. I didn't know what the 'creamy grains' were, so I asked. The staff was incredibly friendly and explained to me it was mostly farro grains cooked with some butter. Delicious, complex flavor. Great portion size. Food trucks are all getting expensive now, but this one is worth it in my opinion. Also, once I ordered, the food came out in about 3 minutes. Super quick! read more

The food is fantastic. No complaints on quality. I do however have an issue paying $13.00 for a bowl and getting unseasoned ingredients. I've been to this truck a few times because it parks close to my office and the first time I went, not only was the food delicious and fresh, but everything was well seasoned, not overdone by any means. But the last two times I've gone, they appeared to be a bit rushed inside that truck, especially when a line builds up and they forgot to season the grilled vegetables. Usually, I don't get bothered by things like this, but I'm becoming a regular at this truck and the food is not cheap at all and you guys forget to throw a little bit of herbs and spices on the grilled vegetables... regularly. It's disappointing and even a little frustrating when you're looking forward to your lunch and you get back to your desk to eat and something is missing. read more

I absolutely loved the food! I attend the Kaiser kids event at Balwin park medical center. I got the tiera mar bowl the meat was Medium cooked shrimp where just right, not over cooked. The sauce was fresh. I seen the reviews but when I try the bowl it was delicious it also comes with rice. This is my type of food, I can eat this every day. I LOVED IT THANK YOU!! read more

Hands down the worst food truck experience ever. We were at the Burbank Magnolia Park food truck Friday event that happens the last Friday of every month (highly recommended) and ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers. 40 minutes later our order finally came out after an inquiry about what was taking so long, with raw bacon and cold fries, I politely asked if they could cook the bacon more and make fresh fries, and turned around to the 2-3 other people standing there rolling their eyes who'd also been waiting WAY too long for their order. 15 minutes later our order wasn't ready and they asked if I wanted my money back, to which I replied "I mean it's been almost an hour so that seems right don't you think?" Then they threw out our food and gave us our money back. Listen....I spent 15 years in food service myself, and am not someone who posts negative comments unless it's warranted. Wondered if anyone else would have wrote a review after New Year's Eve (and I see one below) as I thought I would share about the terrible experience when ordering with this food truck. The line was very long, which is not their fault at all but the way they had handled it was the worst and if anything just plain shady. We waited for an hour and half and once we got to the front they said mostly all the food was gone. They never came around once or announced that, also never even wiped down the markered choices of what was available. Basically if they did, they would think you would have gotten off the line to get food somewhere else. Instead I paid 24$ for something I didn't even want. When food is running out, you tell people rather than have them wait an extra 45 minutes online. So many people had complained about this and I'm only calling them out for a bad unethical business practice. Worst part was that the lady who was taking orders said to me after I complained, "do you want to order food or not?". To be fair in my review, the 24$ salad and fries were good, not 24$ good. This place needs to plan better and needs to hire an additional staff member to help coordinate. I wouldn't eat from here again purely for the fact that they don't care for the customer. read more

I was introduced to Heritage Kitchen LA at the One Love Reggae Festival in Long Beach, CA and let me tell you... I kept coming back for those Nashville fried chicken sandwiches, all the 3 days of the festival. I recommended the food to my friends at the festival and all my friends shared with me how much they loved the sandwiches and that it was one of the best meals they had at the festival. Also loved how nice and welcoming the staff was during my visits. I honestly don't know why this restaurant has a 3 star rating... should be 5 if you ask me and my friends. read more

Not only were they 30 minutes late opening, the man never washed his hands after kneeling on the floor to unlock the doors. The woman was very nice but the food was bland and cold. Tiniest lunch I ever got. I would never go back, I feel like I was robbed. I bought a chicken plate with 2 sides for $11 and they filled up a small bowl with lettuce and put a small amount of a side and for chicken they took a chicken breast, put it in a carving board, and sliced 3 thin slices and put that on top of the bowl of lettuce. Most of the chicken breast was still left, at that rate they could serve several other people from the one chicken breast. After eating it I had to go somewhere else to get a real lunch. read more
