Unprofessional is the only way to begin this review. When meeting to make final arrangements for a loved one, we were left waiting for over 20 minutes while a grief video played repeatedly on an outdated device. When the staff member finally arrived, she asked several irrelevant questions and spent an excessive amount of time talking about herself. While this may have been an attempt to seem relatable, it came across as inappropriate and unprofessional. She left the room multiple times, each time leaving us waiting for 10 minutes or more, unnecessarily prolonging an already difficult process. Our loved one was scheduled to be transported to another state for final services, yet just two days prior, the flight had still not been booked and required permits had not been properly filed, causing delays. Throughout the experience, there was a complete lack of urgency, accountability, and professionalism. We were often met with dismissive attitudes rather than solutions. When families are navigating one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, compassion, professionalism, and timeliness are not optional especially when services have been paid for in full. This experience fell far short of what anyone should expect during such a sensitive time. read more

Do not recommend, the lady i believe her name is larnique, from the beginning just was not friendly, seemed to have attitude, when requesting something she gave that look as if we were asking for to much. My son barely spinned one time on chair and she came up to him telling him not to spin. Had a family member walk in and door got stuck and stayed opened she walked to door with attitude to close it as if they did it on purpose. I was embarrassed. Low key had a family member tell me i dint like her. Horrible customer service. Besides her grumpiness we really appreciated Donovon.. he's the only person who understood and was very patient with everyone.. read more

I am one of those friends of a deceased friend who could not make the service, so was happy when Heritage streamed his service on their site today. However, the audio did not work for a good part of the service - I had to call and email them, they said they "were working on it", then it finally worked for about 15 minutes before the audio going out again, so I missed most of what was going on. Not everyone can attend the funeral of a loved one, and that's the beauty of a streaming service, the components of video and AUDIO, which should be tested before the service begins - one should not have to call to report an issue - isn't this verified before the start of the service? I guess not. RIP, Craig, my friend - sorry I could not hear most of your service. read more

My father passed away 4 years ago and now the company responds!? The pain and grief my family experienced from this awful company was enough then. When I got the notification of a response I was disgusted. Now to come back 4 years later and tell me now it's worth it to look into!? If you read no other review, please read this one. Words cannot begin to express the regret my family and I feel after using Heritage Mortuary. Honestly, I don't even know where to begin. My father passed away April 28th of this year after moving to Nevada from California. Once the doctor called his time of death, my sister was given a form of mortuaries we could go through to have him transported back to California to be buried with my mother at Inglewood Cemetery / Mortuary. After a few recommendations, we decided to go with Heritage Mortuary, one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my entire life. From the very beginning we worked with Donovan who has dropped the ball every step of the way and made this entire experience a living hell. Once my dad was picked up from the hospital by Heritage Mortuary, we were told they were just waiting for the doctor that called his time of death to sign my father's body over to them to begin the embalming and transport. My sister flew to Nevada to sign the mortuary paperwork in which we were assured they would handle everything. My sister filled out an entire booklet of forms from the embalming process down to the payment. We were assured that payment would be accepted through my dad's death insurance policy and even provided all the information they needed to file the claim. After almost 2 weeks of countless calls and no answers from Donovan, who claimed he had done all he could, my sister and I called the hospital ourselves. Turns out the doctor that called TOD was on vacation and the hospital had received not a single request from Heritage Mortuary. Absolutely nobody from Heritage thought to contact the hospital's medical records department to find out what the holdup was. After my sister spoke with the medical records director herself, we were able to have the forms signed and sent over, something Donovan assured us he would handle. Because my dad had already purchased his funeral package in Inglewood, we were literally just waiting for Heritage to do their half of the work, work we PAID them to do. My dad had family from all over the country contacting us asking when his funeral was going to be so they could request time off work and purchase their airline tickets. It took almost a month to get that date. We had family members urging us to have a closed casket funeral because it had been so long. Once Heritage finally got our dad transported to Inglewood Mortuary, that's when the fun really began for us. As we're planning to bury our father, we get a call from Donovan asking us how we would like to settle the balance on the account. As you can imagine, we were stunned as my sister had filled out the paperwork on April 29th, one day after our dad died, for the balance to be deducted straight from his death insurance policy. We reminded him of the contract we signed for the payment to be settled with his insurance company. He then tells me that a claim was never filed....why not? We were assured multiple times that this is something the mortuary handles. We provided the same policy information to Inglewood Mortuary who settled our balance with them through the insurance company in less than a week. I received a call over a month ago claiming my father's death certificates were ready and they would be mailing them out. After speaking with Donovan about this issue for the 12th time, he claims he sent them to my sister without a tracking number and they must have gotten lost in the mail....So our father's death certificate Is just out there somewhere with all his sensitive information on it? After speaking with a lawyer, we have grounds to sue them for identity theft over this issue alone. Why would our father's death certificate be sent via regular mail with his social security number and other private information? He assured us that he would send it again via certified mail, however, once my sister went to check the location, we realize its not even the correct tracking number. After bringing this to the attention of Heritage Mortuary, we were told we needed to send them our beneficiary assignment forms, given that my brother and I are the sole beneficiaries to our dad's death insurance policy and my sister could not sign for payment. These are the same forms Donovan said he would send over 2 months ago that we JUST received via email after weeks of asking for them to be sent to us. (PART 2 IN PICTURES) read more

Very kind & very nice and understanding during difficul times only thing that wasn't nice was a Hispanic women i believe that's what she was if I'm not mistaken she was on the phone in the front desk laughing loud during my cousins service but other than that thank you to the gentleman that drove with cousin along with the people that helped with driving his flowers & to the lady helping us with the slide you all are going to be blessed always. read more

My father passed unexpectedly leaving my sister and I to pay for his funeral costs. A friend referred this place to us. My sister spoke with Tyrone and was told the price of a service, with recording included was $400. We were overjoyed because funeral costs are outrageous and it was all my sister and I could really afford. That joy turned to massive irritation shortly the next day. From the first meeting, we felt like our business wasn't valued, our emotional state wasn't taken into account, and like our time and money weren't respected. Upon meeting set up, we were told to meet Tyrone at the mortuary at 9:00 am. When we arrived, the establishment was just opening and we asked the staff, who was friendly at first yet clueless about the meeting, what time Tyrone was expected since he had not answered our phone call. When the staff placed the call eh mysteriously found the time to answer and gave them no ETA just "I am on my way". He finally arrived at 9:35 with no apology, explanation or even salutation for that matter. We get into the room and he was silent, so I had to open up the conversation and let them know that this was going to just be a ceremony and we had already chosen another place to get him cremated, McDurmott, which was affordable, respectful and helpful. He scoffed at us and said "Oh Jesus" under his breath. Condescending much? Then he told us that we had to deposit half and it would be put on the calendar. We asked besides the deposit was there anything else we had to do and were told no, the other half would be collected after the funeral. That same day my sister talked to the receptionist and brought the deposit. She was told that she was put on the calendar. Fast forward to the day of the funeral. When we arrive Tyrone states, " Oh you're here. We were going to book the date for another family because we didn't hear from you on Friday". Say what? Even if that were so, although you gave no instruction, we were there, with flowers and family in toe, save it! What is worse is that on the day of the service, the staff was completely unhelpful. They acted like it was a chore to show where the music station was, they didn't record the service like they lied and said, and to make matters worse ,Tyrone sat in on the last ten minutes *while texting on his phone the whole time* and waited to collect the money. When we asked him to take a picture of the family, yet again he acted like it was a chore. Never again! This place will make a terrible tragedy worse. They are unprofessional with terrible customer service. read more

From the moment we were calling around looking for a crematorium, Heritage Mortuary proved to be the best and most compassionate. My sisters and myself recently lost our mother and my sister lost a daughter in a hit and run. We had a very short amount of time to find a funeral home/crematorium and out of all of the ones that we called (30+), Heritage treated us and our loved ones with respect and showed us compassion. They were able to accommodate our needs down to the matching coffins for my mother and my niece. They even allowed us to host the viewing at their facility. Through out the process, the staff, especially Regina, helped us every way imaginable and treated us with compassion. We have nothing but good things to say about Heritage Mortuary and will highly recommend them. read more

we went to this funeral hone and my cousin and her family were so upset from the services this company provided , she not only had to bury her son but they couldn't even get together her video she was trying to play or the audio , its sad to see my cousin have to put aside her grief to help the staff , just disappointed and un professional read more

we found this place close to the coroner office and needed to have service as soon as possible with the amount of family that was coming to support our loved one and with all the reassurance and help of the staff, that our service was going to be handled correctly , we worked daily on coordination and set up and photo cards and this was not what my family expected we were given wrong death date on our family members card and the set up that we worked with days prior was not set up we ended up taking the small tv off the entry way to support our video/audio , the jewelry we ordered was not on time and the owner was contacted and assures us he will call back to discuss the issues and never returned our calls and the staff tried to help us , but the bottom line is no this is not a place for you to add more stress to your grievance! you need a peace of mind that in times like this the company will go above and beyond to make sure the setting is 100% to allow your time and family members to be together to celebrate and say farewell ,,, so disappointed with heritage mortuary ! read more
