I picked Simple Cremation for my husband because of the wonderful help we had when my mother-in-law passed. Unfortunately I did not have that same experience with my husband. First they had his birth date and his date of death wrong on the paperwork. They tried to blame thier people that picked him up from the hospital. But I received that paper in an email from the hospital and everything was right on it. Then I was asked if I'd like a call on the day he was to be cremated. At first I said no. Then said yes I would like a call. They asked several times and I said yes every time. I never received that call. On his memorial page again they had his birth date and date of death wrong. I had to call so they could update it. I was also told it would be about 10 business days barring any unforeseen problems. It was 14 days. With no call to explain any delays. I have recommended Simple Cremation several times in the past but will not do so going forward. I was so disappointed with the whole experience. Never ending NIGHTMARE with Simple Cremation making it NOT SIMPLE AT ALL since November / December 2017 at the time of my fathers death from cancer!! My complaints have not helped and asof today i just received a letter from them 2 1/2 years later! Its date May 13th 2020!! RE: My father's remains Why did you wait 2 1/2 years to notify me you still have his remains? I received your letter dated May 13th 2020 on Sat May 16th 2020 leaving me 10days from date of your letter to make arrangements to get my father's remains. Salvatore Joseph Parisi is my father and I have sent you my birth certificate to prove this back when he died in Nov 2017. Your company told me they were not going to keep his remains and then never reached out to me for 2 1/2 years???? Why???? Your company caused me and my family a tremendous amount of stress and grief back then, that took its toll on our health! Your office was threatening to give my fathers ashes to strangers etc. IT WSA A MOMENT IN TIME I CAN NOT FORGET! He died of cancer and I had to deal with his reverse mortgage, property from hundreds of miles away, and dealing with estranged distant people that interfered with my right at the person in charge of all his end of life issues . All the while taking care of my disabled aunt who is now 81 and a at risk person regarding covid-19. I am also an at-risk person regarding Covid-19. We are locked down and must continue with "SHELTER IN PLACE" I only go out with respirator mask, goggles and gloves to grocery shop and run certain errands 1 to 2 times per month in our local community within a 1 mile or less radius. My family will continue Shelter in Place as per our Governor Newsom requests for at risk people like us. WE can not drive to Las Vegas from Los Angeles to deal with these remains at this time. Knowing we are in a Global and National state of emergency still and Covid-19 has no vaccine, I am sure you can make the necessary arrangements to hold my fathers remains until it is safe to go and about without the worry of catching Covdi-19. I'm wondering why you chose this moment in time to reach out to me and explain that my father's remains were still at your location. During the Pandemic of Covid-19 is an odd time to make such requests and demand on your end! Today I called your office as per Robert's request in his letter. I spoke to one woman who I told to please have Robert contact me asap. She said he was at your office and was with a family and that he could call me back after that appointment. I said OK! Then I received another call from your office from another woman rather then Robert. She said he was with a family. I again requested he call me back after he is done. She said OK. And without dismissing herself politely SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!! This leads me to believe that NOTHING HAS CHANGED WITH THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS!!! I would like to speak to Robert Gardner FA#166 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, before the expiration of that your letter discloses, about this entire situation since his name is on the letter I received! I am so happy Nathan adelson hospice recommended this company to me. Everybody is so incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Robert assured me that he would keep me updated on my mom and her cremation process. The two ladies that work in the office were so sweet and kind. They allowed me to grieve and made the place feel like it's made of gold. It's taken me a while to make this review as I've been taking care of my kids. Horrendous from beginning to end ! And Robert hung up on me !! I give no stars !!DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU LOVE YOUR LOVED ONE AND YOURSELF!! Robert was told in the beginning when we first went down to sign paperwork to take a picture of the body prior to entering the cremation chamber and they sent me the picture three weeks prior to her entering the cremation chamber for what purpose I have no idea he didn't remember the purpose behind it then I speak with the cremation person at the Henderson facility and says he's going to go ahead and take the picture and he was going to also offer a toe tag picture . The picture comes finally eventually and of course the picture is not of a toe and a toe tag which I would assume was going to be the last piece of metal left and it goes on ... my final phone discussion with Robert I was very upset with the entire process and asked for the intake form to be sent to me , of course they sent it to my husband instead ( even tho I asked if they had my number ) . NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL OF THE GRIEVING PROCESS!! There's more but I'm out of energy . Instead of an I'm sorry you've gone through so much , he simply hung up on me . If "SIMPLE" means lazy and careless then they got the name CORRECT. Every piece of paper/document that we received that they touched had my mom's name spelled different and mostly incorrect. First and foremost, let me say that the folks at Simple Cremation were a pleasure to deal with. My father was put on hospice on a Thursday and Friday I made arrangements for my fathers cremation. Even in these trying times they were true to their word and took care of EVERYTHING. You must be patient when getting your death certificates, it's comes from the health district and they're pretty busy and it took a few weeks to get them. Don't wait until you need their services. If your parent or loved one is in hospice, Simple Cremation worked very well for our family and loved ones. We were able to honor my fathers wishes and it didn't break the bank. My mother passed away suddenly while we were visiting Las Vegas from California. The hospital gave me a list of funeral and cremation services. Called a few, more highly rated then this company but learned the prices of the others were twice the price. We knew cremation was the logical and desired choice. I ended up with the location on 4955 S. Durango. (They have 4 other locations, but this was closer to the strip). Made an appt with Ed for the next day. He explained the process and paperwork. After meeting, the process took a little less than an hour. He was patient as I had to obtain my mother's birth certificate information from her sister on the phone. He explained the actual cremation would take place within 3 weeks. And to save money, suggested I obtain the death certificate online, otherwise there would be an up charge for them to process for me. I was skeptical but he assured me it was easy. He said to wait about 3 business days until the death was recorded and it was easy. My mom was cremated less than 3 weeks and her ashes were shipped directly to me. I suggest you order your own urn through Amazon as the urns through any of these funeral companies have a hefty price, and by doing so will save you over 70%. read more

One star removed for a very insensitive employee & one because I feel that this business personally tried to get Yelp to remove my review (when it was 4 stars)! Get a load of that. Back in 2009, we first required the services offered here for someone in our family. I do not recall his name (might've started with a C?), but he was the owner, and he was a truly great guy. He even met us offsite to finalize the paperwork down by Decatur/Sahara. They were then located in the same business park on N. Rancho, but in another office. Fast forward to 2016, I found myself making arrangements for the son of who previously passed. Naturally, I thought it would only be appropriate to use them this time around. I took great comfort in that. The two ladies working were spectacular, given my state. One of them especially deserves a raise for how kind, and comforting she was (she was spunky, with red hair). I really wish I remembered her name. She was awesome. I was probably shaking, but I recall her not even blinking an eye, and even getting a laugh or two from me, at a time when that was nigh impossible. What really bothered me, though...while I was waiting, I overheard a younger gentleman in the other office gawking over my loved ones' circumstance of death (suicide). It still makes me angry to this day, and I felt powerless (I wasn't going to confront anyone). I understand that he must be quite hardened to this business, but I wish he would've let me leave first before audibly discussing it. I hear his gossipy voice in my memories, and it still boils my blood. "What? How? Where?"...don't these people get sensitivity training? Ufff. read more

Once again, we were in need of services, and once again we used Simple. The prices have gone up, which would be expected, but the level of service was the same kind, caring folks who assisted us before. Based on name alone, the expectation of anything fancy would be inaccurate, but if you are looking for the simple service of a family member's final request, and an accurate time line (in the era of CoVid19), I would recommend this company. They are very clear in their offer of service. (I see many reviews with "we shopped around for prices...", and then proceed to complain-your budget is not their fault!) A loved one deserves dignity, and from start to finish, we were all treated that way, and they even accepted mom's odd sense of humor final request, without question (it was well inside the (no metals) rule). My husband passed away last month and I didn't want to forget to say that the services provided by Simple Cremation on Rancho were outstanding. Robert was most respectful, sympathetic and courteous. I had a weird request and they were most accommodating. They explained all costs which were very reasonable and didn't try to sell me any extras--everything was my choice. They presented all the paperwork to me and asked me to proofread for any errors--there were not. They arranged my final I.D. viewing of my husband with La Paloma and I am very grateful I got to spend those last minutes with him. My husband's ashes were ready when they said they would be. Since I work, Robert was kind enough to stay past the office closing time so I could get his ashes. My experience with Simple Cremation was exceptional during a very emotional and stressful time. My Mom die after an short illness, call from the hospital. They called me to tell me that the person was on the way to pick your mother up. They even called to say that she was at they cremation site. The next day they called me to set up an time to meet. They were very nice, polite, friendly. They didn't try to up sell on anything. Simple Cremation gives excellent service and the staff are compassionate yet totally professional. The price is extremely reasonable and I did not experience any up-sale pressures at all. My loved one's remains were handled with the upmost respect. You do not have to buy an expensive urn unless you want one. I don't care for the urns in general but found a very affordable natural wood box in the back of their catalog which was available for browsing at their location.
