I'm waffling between 2 and 3 stars. My eye doc recently retired and transferred his patient files to Heritage Valley. I needed to have new lenses put into 2 pairs of glasses. I set an appointment and when I arrived the office was nearly empty I had to wait for the optician lady to return from lunch or break. It took about 20 minutes of her typing on her computer with very little interaction. 7 to 10 days for my glasses. After 2 weeks I was called and told my glasses were ready. The lady hands me a bag with my glasses, I look inside the bag and she asks if I want to try them on. Of course. They fit okay. When I get to the car and put on one of the glasses I noticed a black ink mark on each lens,that I had to clean off. Maybe I was spoiled by my old eye doc. He would personally meet with patients picking up glasses, make sure they fit perfectly and then clean them. I'll be looking for a new optometrist. read more

Good place but the receptionist is the RUDEST person I've ever met in health care. I've come here a few times and I've given her the benefit of the doubt of maybe having a bad day or I'm being a bit irrational...NOPE! Each time I have the WORST EXPERIENCE with her, with a resting b*t@h face which is so inviting!!! The rest of the staff are great though. I just would suggest getting a pleasant person as the first person you talk too and represent Heritage Valley Eye Care in Santa Paula. I'll drive to Fillmore to avoid her. read more

I have been coming here for most of my yearly exams. Mostly because it's in town. Recently, because they have a pretty good selection of frames. They're all so attentive and sweet. They value your time and your business. They took the time to go through all of my insurance options to ensure that I got all I could out my insurance to cover my glasses and contacts, which I really appreciated. They helped me choose the right frames and when I picked them up I let them know that I was pressed for time and I could come back if it was going to be long and the lady at the front desk had such a sense of urgency. She grabbed my glasses and contacts and even tighten them up a little. I was out in 5 minutes! I really appreciated her so much, wish I had gotten her name, but in reality they are All great including the optometrist her self. No complaints here! read more

I highly recommend this place, the girls in front and back have great customer service.This goes for both locations. The dr always makes me feel at ease, even the my prescription is very high. I look forward to my visit every year. read more

The office staff that handles insurance aren't very well trained. I was told I had benefits to cover buying contact lenses. However, that was not true. I was later billed for the cost for them. Someone had called me and left a message which I assume was to tell me they had given me misinformation. Both times I called back, but was told the person I needed to talk to would call me back. They never did. I ended up just calling my insurance company to find out what was going on. I was also given a "office discount" when I originally paid my bill, but then later received a bill for the amount for some reason. No one called me back about that either. It's very odd and poor customer service to give someone a discount and then take it back. read more

Update: the owner has contacted me as has done everything possible to remedy the situation. I will definitely give them another try. When I first went to this place for an eye exam and to order new contacts I was very impressed with the efficiency, especially for a small town facility. However, since then, it has been downhill. I took home a trial pair of contacts and then, when I was sure the contacts were working for me, I called to order a full year supply. I waited for them to come in. I waited. I waited. I called and was told they should be in soon. Finally, I was told that they never got ordered but they would order them that day. I waited. I waited. What should have been an overnight fix took another week. Now, it's time to order glasses. I went in. Picked out frames. Didn't complain about the price, although it was much higher than I am used to paying, Again, I waited. And waited. Finally called and was told that the glasses came I but one of the lenses had a chip. They would remake and call me when they were in. I waited. I waited. (Do you see a theme here?). I called and was told that the glasses would be here tomorrow. I waited. I called. No glasses. Somehow they missed the delivery. I waited. The weekend came and went. Monday is here. I was assured the glasses would be in this morning. I am still waiting. My prescription will probably change before my glasses show up. And, on top of it, when I asked if there was an office manager in charge I was told no. Any surprise there? Moral of the story is -- unless you have lots of money and lots of patience go somewhere else for your eye care needs read more

I stopped by the Fillmore office and the staff was so amazing. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted and welcomed with the staff's smiles and friendly personalities. They definitely had a small town charm that most places seem to lack nowadays. I am from Oxnard and have gone to other places near my home, but honestly, none can compare to this place. I'm happy to say I now have a new go-to place for all my eye care needs. read more
