Gave me the wrong key and told me to go to the Wrong apartment as she had me walk myself to the unit. 3. Was rude and unprofessional. Seems like she's a family member of a manager or something. It's obvious she has no care in the world other than her nails being done. 4. Just mumbled the whole time. Made it super unpleasant and the rent prices went up drastically a few days later. The younger lady with black hair in the office had absolutely no sense of urgency. Every time I would ask a question or ask for help she made me feel like I was a burden. At first, I thought nothing of it. I thought maybe she was having a bad day but every single time I called this apartment complex or visited, I got the same attitude and the same unprofessionalism. They took an entire week to get back to me about the results of my application. I gave them 4 days until I reached out to them and they kept saying oh this is invalid or we can't accept this paperwork and blah blah blah just an excuse every single time. I had to send them my paystub's and proof of income about 4 times. I got passed around to two different people and those two people didn't communicate with each other about my application so when I got past to the second person, it's like I was back at square one and had to redo And re-email about everything I already talked about with the first lady. Eventually, our application did get denied, which is fine. They may think that is why I'm leaving this review but it's not. I'm leaving this review to inform others that this apartment complex has terrible customer service and hires terrible workers. They stated that we did not meet the 2.5x the rent income requirement, so after getting denied with this apartment, my roommate and I applied to a different apartment (WITH A HIGHER RENT COST & THE SAME 2.5x THE RENT INCOME REQUIREMENT) and got approved within an hour. So thank you to this apartment complex for wasting my time! I hope you guys hire better employees in the future! read more

They withheld my security deposit at move out despite my unit being clean and claimed that they have regular cleaning charges for all tenants that they use the deposit for. This was not stated anywhere in my lease. They only returned my deposit once I sued in small claims (for the amount of my deposit plus damages). I am writing this because it is an illegal and predatory practice to charge a default fee to tenants for moving out, regardless of the unit's condition, and any potential renters should know. A quick google search will confirm that but they rely on tenants not knowing in order to keep their deposits. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. this apartment failed to respond to my email request regarding direct deposit/ pet deposit to be redirected to a different address, not only that they sent our information over to collections without notifying us through phone call, email, or through mail. the collections notice was for "dirty carpets due to pet odor." We agreed to pay the amount since they had replaced it and showed us proof. FAST FORWARD a month later the collections office knocked down the credit score by 60 points saying that we never made the payment, when we have proof we dropped off the money order 3 days after receiving that notice. Brejanae was the one we were contacting and she was supposed to give us a receipt ( what collections had told us) we had to go out of our own way to reverse the damage and send them proof ourselves. I've been living here for about 3 years now. Initially, I enjoyed living here. Then throughout time, many unfortunate illegal incidents started occurring time after time. From burglary, mail/package theft, vehicle theft/damages, etc. It literally took years for the office staff to encourage "cooperate" to install cameras from constant complaints and request from us residents. Up to a few months ago, they finally installed cameras only at the front of the community on each end of the driveway entrances, not the back parts of the community. On top of that, this community used to have nightly security patrol and I just don't u detest and why this service discontinued especially with all the illegal activity occurring? Just this past Saturday on 5/21/22, my truck was stolen from my assigned car space. This one weekend, no management or backup supervisor nor maintenance people were present at all. I literally had to wait until today Monday 5/23/22 to speak to office manager and view footage. Upon request of footage, I was told I couldn't receive it but rather have law enforcing contact the office. I'm really disappointed and fed up with all these unfortunate and violating situations that keep occurring time after time. I now became a victim of it! On top of that, my unit molds consistently throughout the apartment due to the cheap paint they use, and not replacing window/sliding door frames. No proper circulation within the restrooms. After many complaints, they continue to instruct to just wipe with a cloth and bleach. Ha! For $2700 a month, you can experience all this joy! read more

We lived at Heritage Village for the past two years. It is centrally located and very close to the Hub, local public schools, and the Bart Station. This complex is especially great if you have a dog. There are plenty of green areas and doggy bag stations throughout the property. The maintenance team, Marco and Will, are very responsive and quick to help with any issues that need fixing. This is a great community of families and, overall, a warm and welcoming place to call home. read more

If you are looking for some peaceful, relaxed to call it home  this is not the place, we have learned it hard way. We have been through very bad time in here and don't want you guys to go through same.. One of my neighbor told the manager here before was good all good reviews are from then or manager has asked people to write one as favor. The manager now acts like dictator she  can do anything she wants she doesn't care about anyone.She likes to show her power to renters.  I tried to contact higher management to complain them but looks like they are very relaxed and doesn't want to bother. The Management will behave on their best until you sign the lease. They don't tell you anything before you sign the lease after that you will start getting notifications once every week about all different things you can't imagine. They will not let you use the apartment you are paying for and in reply they will tell you we do it for everyone. you can also see management looking silently into your apartment over the apartment wall, it happens few times with us too. After you left leave apartment if you ask them to return the money you owe as security deposit they will say "you can sue us then see you in the court". I am from India if you are same or from Asia we are little different here (Hope you understand). Our problem is we don't like to write bad reviews we are usually on work visa and they like to screw us because we don't take them to court. This review is based on first impressions and will be updated after our lease is over. Let's start this off by stating that we chose Heritage Village over other apartments in Fremont including Mission Peaks 1 and 2, The Woods,The Rexford, The Vue and Alborada. Management: Amazing! Megan and Julio who work in the front office are welcoming and always greet you with a smile. We took a tour with Megan and after talking with her we felt comfortable making the decision to sign our lease because she actually took us serious and made us feel welcomed. My girlfriend and I both look pretty young and most of the managers we talked to previously gave us the cold shoulder or were straight our rude. Julio helped us move-in and he made sure that we had all the proper documents needed to get our keys. He even gave me a call the day of our move-in to remind me of those last minute things we forgot about. Maintenance: We just moved in so luckily we haven't had to call maintenance yet. Apartment (2 x 1): We have a second floor unit which is not a downside at all. There may be 15 steps to get to your front door but upon walking in you are greeted with a vaulted ceiling in the living room. I would take the second floor any day if it means I could have a vaulted ceiling. This is something we were completely surprised about since the model home is on the first floor. Our unit is a two bedroom, one bath and the master bedroom is huge with enough room for a sizable dresser two nightstands and a king size bed it also has a separate vanity with a sink in between the bathroom and walk in closet (that is huge btw). The second bedroom is a decent size with enough room for a queen bed there is also a big closet with mirrored sliding doors. The unit did come with all your major appliances (washer, dryer, fridge, oven, dishwasher and microwave). We were hoping to have a separate laundry room but that's not a deal breaker but there is a floor to ceiling linen closet that allows ample storage for laundry baskets on the bottom and linens, towels and random stuff up top. The kitchen has tons of storage with cabinets that go all the way to ceiling and are plenty deep for storage of minor appliances like a crock pot. The kitchen is open with the sink facing out towards the living room. Only downside in the kitchen is that there are only 4 shelf pins to adjust the height of the shelves (can be easily fixed). The dining room has a fan with a light that in combination with the kitchen light emits enough light to brighten up the living room. Last but not least the patio is big enough to have a small table and chairs for outdoor dining options and there is also a closet for added storage. The unit does not have central A/C which might be a downside but since we moved in during the winter we won't know until it summer time. We absolutely love how much storage is in our apartment and the layout of the rooms. Overall the downsides are completely minor compared to the grand nature of this great complex. read more

We've been living here for the past 9 years, and have nothing but good things to say about this place! The maintenance staff is always very friendly and helpful, many of our problems are fixed as soon as possible. The leasing office also listens to our queries and needs and acts on them as soon as possible. In particular, Will has been very kind to us recently. we refer to him for many of our apartment problems and he solves them quickly and whole-heartedly. I'm looking for a well maintenance apartments specially smoke free.. They said they are smoke free but, as I was driving after my appointment, I saw couple of persons smoking at the top balcony and that makes me think that there is not control at all to implement this simple rule. About the pool, looks pretty and cool but when I got closer all the tiles around are very dirty, the bottom had dust residues and tree leafs, it needs a deep clean. First time writing review . One year before we moved from India. I am searching good place for my family. I found 2-3 good place but when finally I come here and I found what ever I want. Good open space for kids. Good sunlight in my apartment. Good neighbors. So many parking space. Near to Fremont hub. Most important staff. Leasing office and service staff. Leasing office staff always help for our issues. I am impressed with service staff too. Mainly Will is very helpful. He always ready to help. Some time without complain he do some service. My 2 other roommates and I moved into Heritage Village in the beginning of May of this year and were loving every minute of it so far. This is the first time ever moving to the Fremont area, so we were looking for the right place. The neighborhood area is quite and there is a lot of parking available. The grounds area is maintained well and they allow pets!! We were able to get a corner apartment on the first floor which was our preference. The price of the apartment was great compared to other 3 bedroom apartments in the bay area. Melissa who works at the leasing office has made moving the most easiest and quickest process for us. Everyone that we've met in the leasing office has been so friendly and they actually do remember your name and you are not just another apartment number to them. They helped with the setup of Comcast because of an issue of not having a cable line in one room and were able to solve it that day. Have been calling Heritage Village a home since last 4 years. Very satisfied with the office staff as well as maintenance staff. In one specific instance our fire alarm battery died during middle of the night and it started beeping very loud. Marcos who is the maintenance guy responded immediately to our emergency call, came during middle of the night and fixed the issue. I was a tenant for a year and a half. Dont count on getting your deposit back. Not only did they keep ours but they are trying to collect an ADDITIONAL $900+ after we cleaned the hell out of it. Anything remaining was normal wear and tear but they said it was unsalvageable as if we were living like animals. Security was non-existent. Our truck was broken into twice. Numerous complaints about that from other tenants as well. There were also break-ins in the middle of the day! Tenants had to form their own watch. And its not just management. There are tenants who complained about kids playing anywhere outside. Complained about us cheering during the play-offs. But I suppose thats what you have to deal with when living in an apartment complex. I hated living there and would advise you to look elsewhere. read more

I came to live in this apartment fom Dec 2013. This month I was late in my rent. They put a notice in my door saying that I did not pay my rent on the 6th day of the month. They did not even bother to calland remind me instead they sent me a rude letter that pay within 3 days by cashier's check or else leave the aparment. no woder why people does not like this apartment. 7 Months of torture (Please stay away) Please don't move to this place "if you have pet", "if manager doesn't like you" or "your neighbor doesn't like you who is close to this manager or assistant". Be ready to get lots of notification for correction. You can see Management is standing on stairs and looking inside to your apartment. We moved to this place last year all was good until I had little argument with my neighbor which was very close to Management. I can see my neighbor talking with management people for hours. We start getting notifications every week like we are leaving shoes outside, we are having trash can in our own lobby, There is too much stuff in our lobby, Too much noice is coming out of apartment. when I asked the manager why are we getting these notifications every week she said this is not only you "we do this to every renter", I was surprised by the answer. We bought a small puppy for our kid. One morning I saw Manager assistant and our neighbor standing in stairs and looking inside to my apartment, I was angry on the manager how can you look into someone apartment and he has no valid answer and they left. After that I got notification from appt office we need to remove dog and I told the management I am willing to pay for the dog lease. Management was ok at that time and everything was going fine until we got a notification to remove dog out of our property because it is restricted bread. I had adopted the dog as supporting animal from my doctor. I gave the Manager the certificate from doctor, manager said I don't believe it is a real certificate and do you know one thing I can still make to remove the dog from property. I told her if i have certificate than how can you do that she said I still can. Everything was going ok we were still getting notification once or twice a week about our dog or this that. We were shaked when we get notification from legal attorney whome the manager has involved to evacuate apartment in one week. We were vey scared where to go in a week then we tried to approach appt supervisor or someone higher to look in the matter because manager was giving us hard time, no one answered I lefted few phone messages but no one calls back. Finally there was nothing we can do so we have to get back to attorney and she said its ok. After one month again we got some papers from attorney she said everything is fine please sign these papers and send back today and we did. Later we were told those papers were to evacuate the appartment by next month. We finally left the apartment and here we are after one and half month we haven't received any deposit back and we were told today that we owe them some money I will upload the bills once I receive them so you can see what you owe after you left the Appointments. read more

Clean and well maintained property but with many restrictions. There was a theft from my apartment. They are very rigid on late payment when actually it is not late. They had break in to their leasing office and lost my payment check for rent. There is no on site security or any security camera. Community is unrestricted where you will not feel safe. I lived here for almost 3 years. It is a fairly nice place and the office staff was great. Just a heads up about the deposit. I received a detailed list of what was expected as far as cleaning the apartment. I completed the the majority of items on the list except for cleaning the carpet. I was charged $160.00 for cleaning at move out and a $95 carpet cleaning fee. When I inquired about the cleaning fee and mentioned I had cleaned the apartment thoroughly I was told that was the standard fee for a normal cleaning. If they had to do a deep clean it would have been more and they have to charge for cleaning no matter what. Lesson learned do a surface cleaning and keep it moving. You will be billed no matter how clean you leave the place. read more

This is a well maintained apartment complex located at a convenient location between a middle school and a high school. Cosmopolitan community. Office staff and maintenance staff are very efficient. Mention worthy is property manager Megan and Staff member Will, very well behaved and friendly people, always ready to help community members in need. The premises are always kept clean and service requests are immediately taken care of. Enough parking space for visitors in addition to one designated parking for each apartment unit. Kids friendly and secure community. Our stay of more than 2.5 years here was a bliss. read more

Hi I have recently moved to Heritage Village.Gave a big list to leasing office by 9.30am(Feb 8) after move-in inspection.they didn't clean and paint storage room floor.Lights ,fan were not working.EACH ROOM BLINDS NOT CLEAN. MESH was not locking.First of all I don't know how they handed over apartment in such condition.Many other issues were noted and submitted to the office .I was told that issue will be ADDRESSED WITHIN 24 hours . I was patience till 4 WORKING DAYS because I need to unpack and arrange things so I called maintenance hope a guy named Ryan picked the phone and he was asking is that emergency!! He told "please DONT CALL to this Number unless if their is emergency. we are looking into your issue"(I don't know how long they are going to look into the issue without fixing it).If they want to be so RUDE please be PERFECT. I'm the one who should be rude on them for not being addressing these issues for so long.Till the date they didn't fix the storage room stuff. May be it looks like very small problem from outside but we need to look other side too. In my case its like if I have moved next day we need to pay like +60$ EVERY MONTH so we took the apartment earlier .When they were so keen about FILLING the vacancy why they cannot fix the problem timely.But they have given an apartment which is not even ready to move in.So after we moved in they are fixing the problems by hearing from us. Been living here for a few months now and so far this is a very nice place to live. The staff is friendly and helpful and the amenities are in good shape. However - there is one con for me that I wish I'd known about before moving in. This place is very close to the train station and the train goes by and blows a whistle at all times of the day and night. It happened this morning at 3:00AM, 6:00AM, 7:00AM, and 7:45AM for example. I was woken up several times as happens many nights if I'm not completely sound asleep when the train goes by. It also happens throughout the weekend days so there is no rest from the shrill and annoying sound in the days either. I'm now resorting to using a white noise machine to get a decent night's sleep but don't have any way to deal with the sound during the day. I really wish the management would install double pane windows in all units or that I'd known about the train before moving in. Otherwise, this is a great place to live. read more

Reckless and irresponsible onsite management. only good part for me is maintenance. I am living in this apartment for over a year. pros. good maintenance. good school district. cons 1. very small size apartments, especially with kids, which is the main reason people come here for good school district, but these tiny apartments kills the good school district advantage. 2. Irresponsible management. any thing u ask they will write on post it and say will get back to you, but they never. for every small thing you have to keep visiting leasing office several times to get resolved. 3. Terrible weekend staff, weekend staff have zero knowledge, and managers are not available during weekends. any requests (not maintenance) will be written on post it and will end up in trash. 4. No email , electronic documentation of your requests and letters. There is no onsite manager email address to reach, so they will make sure every thing will be lost in trash without tracking it. read more

I would like to follow up to my initial complaint by saying that I was able to meet with the Property Manager Mellisa Collier who ensured me that Patrick will be held accountable for his misinformation to me with more training and other consequences. Mellisa listened to my issue and immediately contacted her corporate offices. She then explained to me that to get back my security deposit it will in fact take 21 business days and that I was misinformed all together. Her professionalism, willingness to listen and accountability for the issue is why I felt the need to write an addendum to my original complaint. With a property manager like Mellisa Collier Heritage Village should be able to keep their residents happy. read more
