It has that white/sterile + natural decor that is on trend right now, so it feels modern. There is ample seating, benches, chairs, bar seating, and high tops. The space is well-lit, both from overhead lighting and natural light coming in through the front. There was plenty of parking out front as well. The menu is great, with a variety of seasonal coffees and a food menu. Unfortunately, I came in quite hungry for breakfast wtih my coffee, and learned that they're entire food menu was out of stock, aside for a couple of pastries in the cabinet. I had come a long way, and didn't feel like relocating, so I settled for a cinnamon roll, which was okay, but I REALLY wanted to try the vegan breakfast burrito with sweet potatoes. In the back, the coffee shop has a little Christian bookstore, clearly centered around The International House of Prayer (located next door) - so I'm guessing this coffee shop has some sort of connection, too. Do with that information what you will. That said, seems to be a solid coffee shop. If I'm in the area again, I'll give them another try to see if I can catch one of the vegan burritos.

They've got a pretty decent food menu with breakfast burritos, bagels, sandwiches, and soups. And, if you're lucky you'll catch one of their pastries before they sell out in the mornings! Oh, and you won't want to miss out on their honey lavender lattes. It's my FAVORITE! Just an FYI, if you're looking for a quiet place to sit down and work, this might not be the spot for you. Be sure to check out their Grandview location (located inside the IHOPU Campus off of 71hwy and Main St) for a sweet work + coffee vibe. This Red Bridge location tends to get a bit loud as a LOT of people are bustling in and out of the shop to get their coffee fix. Overall, I love this coffee shop! It's close to home and one of the BEST on this side of town.

This little café is actually a really cool extension of a community project, and always has something delicious to try. I was lucky enough to head in and try the new FIFA beverage menu, which is running thru July. An orange mocha inspired by the Netherlands, it was so delicious I whispered, "Hup Holland Hup" to myself as I downed that beauty. I had the pleasure of trying the quiche of the day as well, which was a knockout. Caramelized onions inside made is both sweet and savory, a knockout pastry crust with flaky layers that I never wanted to stop. Please go try literally anything here.

I met a friend here and the staff were all so friendly and fun! I thought for sure this would be my new coffeeshop hang, especially for journaling or a lazy Sunday with my husband and the crossword. But by the time I left (90 minutes later), I had changed my mind. It was so ridiculously loud! The noise went way beyond the usual coffeeshop sounds of grinding beans, steam from the espresso machine, and the chatter of customers (which are all expected) . At one point, and I'm not exaggerating, it sounded like an airplane was landing inside the coffeeshop. A horrible, continuous, incredibly loud sound like a jet engine .... And it just wouldn't stop! It went on for several, several minutes. At one point my friend paused our conversation and said "My God, what is that?" It ruined our coffee date and made the experience so unpleasant that we just wrapped up our time together and left. To add insult to injury, when we got outside a car alarm was blaring. That is not Hattie's fault, of course, but it didn't change my impression that this is the loudest coffeeshop on earth. I've been to hundreds of coffeeshops, and I've never experienced a prolonged, wretched, grinding-engine sound like this before. I have no idea what it was. It was so bizarre. I had an Arnold Palmer and breakfast sandwich. The lemonade was too tart, but I could have added more sugar so that's not their fault. The sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich was meh, but the pastries looked great (although I didn't have one). Since the staff is wonderful and it is a convenient spot for me, I will go back on a nice day and try the patio. But I can't imagine I will ever try sitting inside again. The search of the perfect coffeeshop continues!

We were able to get our coffee and coffee drinks (Not pictured) with almost record time. And they were quick and friendly about it even though the staff was just learning their system. We came here once before years ago and I remember it being packed then too even though I'm sure it was later in the day. The line moved quickly and they gave you a number after so that you don't have to stand waiting by the counter. They bring your drinks and items out to you while you find a place to sit and wait. I had never seen that before and I really appreciated it. Their menu has upgraded since the last time I came, it's now on two large TV screens that help you read before it's your turn at the counter. They also have a sandwich board with seasonal drinks for those that are looking for something sweeter or with different flavors. I had the Banana Cabana which was my first banana coffee drink ever during this time where they seem to be popping up everywhere. My immediate reaction was that the banana flavoring is not for me. It was still drinkable though, with the perfect amount of sweetness. I don't fault them at all, it was an experimental choice on my part. Next time I will just stick with adding my own flavors to an iced latte. Plenty of seating and despite being crowded, there was a relatively low noise level. They also have plenty of pastry and food options. By the time I left I realized I forgot to order a chorizo breakfast burrito, so I will have to try that next time.

I stopped by on a Friday and it was crowded but not so much that I couldn't find a seat. There was actually some seating available both inside and out. I chose inside and enjoyed my cold brew with oat milk and got some work done. A couple of friends met up and they noted we were in "productive mode," so we limited the chat until our lunch break when we headed out. I'll definitely return to Pilgrim Coffee on future visits to the area!
