Looking for a solid coffee shop with wifi to meet up with friends, coworkers, or just to sit solo? Pilgrim Coffee Company may be your spot! It was recommended to me and it didn't disappoint. I stopped by on a Friday and it was crowded but not so much that I couldn't find a seat. There was actually some seating available both inside and out. I chose inside and enjoyed my cold brew with oat milk and got some work done. A couple of friends met up and they noted we were in "productive mode," so we limited the chat until our lunch break when we headed out. I'll definitely return to Pilgrim Coffee on future visits to the area! read more

Coffee: all the stars. Really, really good bean. Atmosphere: very kaffehaus, quiet convos, etc. Service: friendly, pleasant, authentic. Throughput: ehhhh, could be better. But so what? The coffee and the coffee drinks are really outstanding, the vibe (yes, I know everybody says 'vibe' these days) is excellent, and Pilgrim certainly has a solid local brand/following. I have had the pleasure of coming here on one of the Caffeine Crawls in the Kansas City area, and their demonstration and pride in their product did not disappoint. Lots of space to spread out, with even some smaller bistro tables on the sidewalk area, and a good atmosphere for focus. The last couple of times I have been into Pilgrim, the line stretched to the door frame. That is not a bad thing, because clearly Pilgrim is a destination, but it makes for a messy bit of throughput. Call me old & crabby, but hey, my orders are simple and I really just want to get my fabulous coffee and go. Handy intel: the homemade Pop-Tart thingys are worth the flaky mess, so yummy! Parking is super easy, because out here in the 'burbs, we have lots of space. Pricing is very fair, less than three bucks for a cup of great coffee, or go a little over $5 for a wonderful pourover. It's a great spot and has held down their space for quite awhile, and it's easy to see why. read more

This location is in a shared plaza with plenty of parking. The space is large with lots of seating. It's busy and loud inside. The service was quick. The prices were decent. There is pastries and gluten free options as well. I tried one of the seasonal drinks the cinnamon roll latte with almond milk. It was really good. I enjoyed it. I stopped in after a meeting in the area, the place was moderately busy when I got there. I ordered a blue berry muffin and an Iced Latte and was a bit confused when they handed me my muffin and a number with no other information. I left the number at first thinking I wasn't supposed to get it since I got my food. After being there for around 30 min the place go really busy and really load. There are not sound dampening in the space so when I gets load it is just load. I usually don't like to put in both earbuds incase I need to hear what is going on around me but had to use both with volume up. My latte was okay, a little lite of flavor for me. read more

Place has a chill vibe to it. The girl at the counter wasn't pleasant whatsoever. Shouldn't work in customer service. She gave the wrong info on what was inside the potato burrito. We had two separate orders in our group. Half came in to go cups the other regular cups. Not a big deal but she didn't ask any questions about the order- to go or not, type of milk wanted. Which this place charged $1.25 for milk alternative. Gave it two stars because the latte was delicious. The burrito was house pre made but bland. They do offer salsa or hot sauce. Great spot for coffee and q relaxing visit with friends and family! Stopped by with my wife, daughter, and her fiancee. Spacious interior beautifully decorated. Loved the hanging lights with the fancy vintage looking light bulbs. Group had iced americanos and iced lattes. Coffee was smooth with a nice flavor. This might not make sense to people but I really enjoyed the ice cubes they use! Great size and they don't melt too fast. Stopped in here over the weekend with some friends before shopping. Parking lot was PACKED - busy area apparently!! Cute inside. I just got a hot coffee, but it was very good. Arrived at our table the perfect, ready-to-drink temp! My friends ordered burritos because they were unfortunately out of sandwiches. My only complaint is it seemed expensive to me. Maybe it's because I don't drink coffee super often anymore, but I ordered the smallest size and paid the most I think I've ever paid for coffee. I'm not often in the area, but I'd still probably come back anyway if I happened to be around and really wanting something to drink. read more

I might be the outlier here, but I wasn't too impressed by Pilgrim coffee. I've been two or three times and I've only ever been satisfied with 1 cup of coffee I've had. This is a huge coffee shop, so if you're looking for something small, quiet and cozy this might not be the spot. Service wise, the staff were very welcoming and helpful with answering questions! I typically keep it safe by ordering iced vanilla lattes with oatmilk, with the 1 occasion I ordered a hot fall seasonal beverage. The 2x I've ordered my iced vanilla lattes, both times have been made incorrectly unfortunately. It was noticed by the batista once that it was made incorrectly, made again, still incorrect but I drank it anyways. The hot beverage (I'm sorry I can't remember :/) during the fall time was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I want to say it was pumpkin something perhaps? Nonetheless, if I were to return to pilgrim, it would only be in the fall for that hot seasonal coffee. Overall, if you'd like a coffee spot to socialize, have a cup with a sweet treat, then this spot might not be too bad but I've just had better experience elsewhere. read more

I've had many meetings here and there is a room off to the side that you can reserve with a large table. There has been a ton of people working, meeting here, or just enjoying the atmosphere. I visit infrequently, and when I do the customer service is excellent. They are super friendly, patient and quick. The place has it's busy and quiet moments. pilgrim coffee was my go to spot to do homework, meet up with friends, and draw for fun. i love the ambiance in here, its spacious with big windows, allowing a great sunset view. i don't recommend coming here if you need a quiet place to do anything, though. i love pilgrims drinks, despite them being on the pricier side. i love trying their seasonal drinks and chatting with the baristas. i've tried chais from several places and i have to say that pilgrim does iced chais the best. when in doubt, i get a dirty iced chai i've been coming here regularly for several years and i will continue to do so! read more

I love the spacious establishment. During my morning visit, there were lots of people, which made it quite loud. I asked the barista about different menu items and settled on the Honey Lavender Latte and the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito with salsa. I have had this drink at other cafes, and this was the best. TL;DR: Pilgrim is one of my favorite hangout spots and undoubtedly has some of the best coffee in the Overland Park / greater Kansas City area. I also love that despite how busy this place is, there always seems to be enough room to sit with whatever size group I have. All-around, a cafe staple. Solid place to study, meet up with friends, or just hang out. There are a large number of outlets, seating options, and great drinks. Some of my personal favorites are: - Matcha latte (make sure you mix super well, until it turns light green) - Classic latte - Steamer with caramel syrup (I had reservations but the light touch of caramel in this is so perfect) I've been less impressed with some of the other drinks. Their chai doesn't taste like a true Indian chai masala at all--it's sweeter and the spices don't really come through--and as a general word of caution, Pilgrim can be somewhat heavy-handed with their syrups. I've had more than few steamers and amaretto lattes from them that tasted like straight syrup. If you like your drinks a bit more subtle, consider specifying less syrup for your drink. As for food, bring your own or eat beforehand. Their pastries are okay in a pinch, but their sandwiches are not it. I was pretty underwhelmed by the hot sandwich Pilgrim came out with (see pictures). I understand that the sandwich is supposed to be pressed, but this sandwich is flat. It's almost just two pieces of bread pushed up against each other. Those reservations aside, I love going to Pilgrim and hope to see you there! read more

Today we stopped in to try out Pilgrims Coffee. The positives: large space with abundant seating and generally clean, good lighting in main space and dimmer area in the back that is more secluded. They also have gluten free bakery items available. The noise level was good despite it being busy. Negatives: the GF homemade mixed berry pop tart that I tried was very dry and I had to wash down with coffee with every bite. My husband had a cream cheese pastry that was also dry (not GF). My husband had the black tea with mango and he said that it was rather week and not very flavorful. I had an oat milk iced latte with sugar-free vanilla, which is their only sugar-free choice, and it was just OK as well. One of the baristas was nice, but the one serving us was very lackluster and not particularly friendly. It was quite busy, but there was available seating, they probably need to add another bathroom that may be unisex because there was a constant line for either the men or women's bathroom. read more

There is nothing that I like better than a good cup of coffee and I met up with a friend to check this place out. It's a nice space in an older strip mall, so I'll say that they did a nice job on furnishing the place, as it outclasses the rest of the building. I ordered a small coffee and when I paid for it, I gave the girl a buck and change for walking 3 feet and pouring coffee into a cup, so a smile or a thank you would've been nice. I thanked her for my coffee and all I got was a blank stare. As someone who waited tables and worked as a front doorman to get through college, that upside down frown is a money maker. It's a known fact people respond to smiling counter people in a positive manner and usually a gratuity. When you act like a customer interrupted your day, that customer will shrug it off and make their own coffee at home...I know that I do. The coffee was fine, better than Charbux, as most locally owned java joints usually take pride in not burning the bean. Pilgrim has an excellent atmosphere to either get some work done or meet someone to hang out. Their pour over is among the best in the KC metro and my kids endorse their baked goods. Pilgrim also makes a good espresso based drink too. They serve the pour over on these very pretty trays that make the experience a lot of fun. I definitely recommend Pilgrim Coffee. read more

This place is few streets from our house. It's best to go pick up a nice seasonal favorites from the coffee store. I couldn't believe how huge the area is.
