I love working from Sweet Tee's Coffee Shop. The vibe is always welcoming and community-focused, and there's constantly people coming in and out while somehow still keeping service super quick. The staff is always kind and helpful, and the coffee, tea, and pastries are consistently great. One of my favorite things is their partnership with Inclusion Connection next door. it really adds to the heart behind the place. So the name says coffee but it's really a Cafe. They have a very diverse menu which does include regular cup of java and espresso drinks, but they offer baked goods and not just muffins. The layout includes three spaces great for working, studying or just hanging out. There's a enclosed area too. They provide board games to enjoy. It reminds me of Cracker Barrel in a way. The seating is an eclectic arrangement of couches, tables & chairs you have in you own kitchen area, benches, high top and low table seating. It's pick your mood seating! Now coming to the menu if you're new and don't elect your goto drink type, is vast and you'll want to read it carefully as its extensive and the flavor combos unique. I was in the mood for Matcha, specifically Witch's Brew Matcha. I ordered it hot... thus the lemonade was steamed! How delightfully refreshing! Now my wallet... HAPPY. This reminds me of what you would get if you mixed a hometown Grandma (in a good way) and a coffee guru and created a cozy cafe. The coffee cups lining the walls with cool pictures everywhere, give a sense that people here know what they are doing. I got an iced salted caramel latte with almond milk and it was blended perfectly. There were a ton of people in there, even a baby shower going on a few doors down (looks like they own a few connections. My friend really enjoys coming here on a regular basis for the vibe, work space, well-priced delicious drinks, and snacks/bakery items! I have joined her on several occasions, to use the space as a study space or hangout on my computer using the wifi, and socializing. I agree it is a nice place with friendly service and a relaxed but busy and bustling atmosphere. It is a nice spot in Olathe to go out and sit in the world. I have had the breakfast burrito and quiche here, as well as several teas, all satisfactory. The shop is 2 places combined into one the first section is cozy and the other one seems to be a place to study or sit at a table. The menu has somewhat variety and the prices are cheap. My wife and I came here on an early but busy Saturday morning. Right off the bat, there's a lot of space for seating (Multiple rooms worth!). We got the raspberry cheescake latte and coconut matcha iced and we both loved it. Both weren't overbearingly sweet and they served it in jars which was unique! I've been looking for a great local spot for a hot cup of tea. There are TONS of cafes for all the coffee drinkers out there, but none of them seem to give much thought to us tea drinkers. Then, I stumbled across Sweet Tee's where I can FINALLY find a variety of hot teas. The staff is super friendly with great atmosphere. This is a true local coffee shop! It can be a bit chaotic for first timers when going in and ordering as there is not a lot of structure. There is hodge podge seating, I would not recommend this place for quiet work time but rather a place to catch up with friends or loved ones. I always get the matcha w a housemade cold foam with a touch of pistachio in the cold foam. It's not the best matcha in KC but it works and it's fairly close to the house. Prices are great! Better than most of the coffee shops in the area. My husband usually gets a speciality latte and he has never complained. We love their gluten free baked foods. I think she ( the owner) may make them or have them made for the shop, not sure, but the chocolate chip cookie sandwich filled with peanut butter frosting is delish! So is the pumpkin bar. If you are having your coffee in the shop, you can grab mugs from the wall, such a cute and unique concept. She also has a private room that can be reserved for free to host meetings or groups. I haven't checked in a year if it's still free, sorry if it's not! They also host bingo nights and such, we have not been but I'm sure they are fun. read more

Found this place on a whim! Friendly service, plenty of seating . The cinnamon role was warmed and was pretty good. They did know what a blackeye was (not many place know it). The coffee was ok but not strong enough. I did not see any special beans from other countries. The decor is cute which feels warm. My only real drawback was a male employee washing his hands with soap for ten seconds. So I might give it a second try. read more

Service was great--very friendly and knowledgeable. I got the Raspberry Tuxedo Latte. Not cloying at all, and delicious; temp of coffee was perfect. Not a bad coffee shop. I like the concept of grabbing a mug off of the wall that you like to use for your drink. Repurposing and preventing plastic waste is always a plus! Honestly wasn't a big fan of this coffee shop and personally wouldn't see myself coming back. Tried two of their seasonal drinks, one a cinnamon roll matcha and the other the fall 'n down latte I think it was called. Both lacked the flavor of what is was supposed to be and my iced matcha was oddly room temp tasting despite shaking it around. The cinnamon roll was okay. The burrito was probably the favorite of this visit with lots of cheese and a good amount of bacon and sausage. They have an awfully small kitchen/bar area for such a big space which makes service slower than other places I've visited. Seating wise, they have plenty of options from couches, tables, window seats, and out door seating. They have two rooms with seating, one rental room, and a coloring area for kids. read more

This coffee shop is huge. There are seating areas as soon as you enter, then to the adjacent right side. Mary, the shop staff even indicated there's even a tea room. Mary was super friendly and helpful and a delight to chat with about Kansas and the wonderful midwestern values. There are comfortable seats, desks and chairs for those needing to work. There are so many interesting things inside- the decor (walls with mugs), a fireplace in one corner by the order counter. There are merchandise for dogs (bandannas, treats) and even greeting cards! Aside from huge selection of coffee concoctions, lattes, teas, etc. Sweet Tee's bake their own pastries, muffins, quiches (gluten free) cookies, etc. in-house. Since this was my 8th coffee shop stop for the day, having about 5 coffee beverages in the car having to be consumed, I decided to pass on drinks and ordered the supreme (gluten free) "quiche" (without the typical crust since it's gluten free). I visited this shop for the first time today. My overall impression was that it's a large space with several rooms, and it seems to be a popular spot since it was fairly busy. My young daughter and I shared a slice of pumpkin bread and a lemon lavender scone. She had water, and I ordered a black drip coffee. The baked goods were decent, but the coffee unfortunately wasn't much to be desired. The vibe of the shop is eclectic, with furniture and décor that looked mostly thrifted but without any clear theme or cohesion. It also could have used a good cleaning. My coffee cup had a chip on the rim, which was disappointing. Service was just okay , not especially friendly or helpful, but not rude either. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it also didn't leave me wanting to return. I personally won't be back. read more

I am very pleased to have been recently introduced to Sweet Tee's Coffee Shop when I attended a private event at this venue to honor a friend's milestone birthday; I found Sweet Tee's Coffee Shop warm, inviting, relaxed, and so fresh and different from the other coffee venues. I liked that it was tucked in an inside corner of an outdoor shopping center; it felt very neighborly, and it offered a lot of privacy and intimacy. The event that I attended was also being catered by Sweet Tee, and each sandwich, nosh, beverage, and dessert was utterly delicious. I love coming to Sweet Tee's. The staff is always friendly, the food is delicious, and the mismatched decor makes everything feel cozy. I love how they have local artists' artwork displayed and for sale, and they help support places like Pawsabilities, which helps disabled adults prepare to join the workforce and get degrees. I love how they have gluten free options. It means I can bring my friend who can't have gluten there, and know she'll have something to eat! An amazing little coffee shop that is tucked away and always quiet. The pastries and desserts are all freshly made and taste simply divine. The staff will warm them up for you regardless if you are eating in or grabbing your items to go. The Lavender Lemon Scone has always been one of my favorites as it is just sweet enough to not be overpowering and the Lavender is a nice light touch of floral that goes well with a hot cup of coffee. There are always some gluten-free/ vegan scone and dessert options which is nice for those who have the dietary choice as most coffee/pastry shops do not have this on a regular basis. I have tried a few of them over the years and honestly, you couldn't tell they were a gluten-free or vegan option if I had not already known. They are on par with the other dessert items which is a statement to their recipes as most other places that have those options lack the same flavor or texture that their standard items do. A neat little unique feature is that their walls are lined with wild and crazy coffee cups and you have the choice to grab one off the hooks that you want to use or the staff will just use one they have available. Call it what it is: most of you probably use the search option with 'coffee near me' to even stumble across *this* place. You also likely returned hits for drive-thru chains or Seattle representing yet again. Fine, go ahead and hit one of those, you'll be unsatisfied. OR... You can drop in on one of the hidden gems of the Olathe coffee scene, if not the entire Johnson County and greater Kansas City area. Sweet Tee's doesn't benefit by being visible from the street, so you have to want it. Oh, and you should. This spot looks like Chandler, Monica, and Joey will stumble in and collapse on the sofa (how did they always get that seat, anyway?) with a huge mug of joy to accompany them. Your spot awaits. Sweet Tee's is serving up DogWatch Coffee, a local small batch roaster (yay! local!) and their brew is on point. I opted for a dark roast variety and wowza, was that a great cup of coffee. Nutty and not too bitter, and when lightened with a touch of creamer, it was just south of perfect. I paired that up with a cinnamon roll that didn't last long enough for a photo op, so that's on me. Believe me, that pastry was special and combo'd smashingly with my coffee. They also serve up an array of other morning goodies ranging from muffins to individual quiches, all of which said 'try me, I'm wonderful'. But pastries are like puppies: I want them ALL but I don't have the space. So, one by one, I'll try them out. The space and service are the real winners. Unlike so many other spots, there are a ton of places to park and enjoy yourself, from that sofa to plenty of tables, so find one and curl up. If you're staying in and want a mug, select any of them off the wall and have it filled, or maybe they'll surprise you with one they choose. I was looking for a cute coffee shop to spend the afternoon at to work on some homework. As soon as i walked in I knew this place was going to be my vibe! There are a ton of couches and comfy chairs that immediately caught my attention. Soft music is playing in the background but otherwise a fairly quiet atmosphere. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with a cinnamon roll and both were delicious. The girl who took my order was friendly and clarified my order to make sure it was perfect! Good coffee, great atmosphere, wifi, and fun attentive staff make this place worth visiting. I dropped in around 8am, and after the experience, I don't know why they aren't packed. I wasn't expecting such a great place to be hidden in the back of a failing half empty strip mall, but there it is. The only thing missing is a drive through, but that shouldn't deter you from running in to grab your coffee and go. The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere. Where the major chain coffee shops have gone to hard soulless seating that encourages you to move on, this place is filled with many variants of comfortable homey chairs and couches. The walls and tables are covered in fun and interesting collections of cards, coasters, and art. The coffee cup collection hanging a cross the top of the entire north side, over an art collection, is worth just taking a moment and browsing. I can't really say enough about the atmosphere here. It made me want to stick around, and/or come back and browse further. When I got up to the counter, the staff greeted me, and helped me work through their list of sugar free flavors to add to a heavy cream latte (watermelon coffee?? Maaaaaybe...). The ordering experience was easy and fast. The food and treats were tempting perhaps when I hit a break in my keto plan... mmmmm The order was made quickly, and I settled into a soft seat to gaze about and drink in both my coffee and the many atmosphere. I wish I had brought my laptop, because I would have spent the morning working there. Today my daughter and I tried out this cafe. I was very pleased with the amount of choices they offered with coffees and baked items and a selection of gluten free and vegan as well. They also had some lunch items too. Their baristas were nice and the place was quite busy but it is very large so it could accommodate everyone. Even though there were quite a bit of people it was a relaxed and calmer environment. My daughter's lunch items and tea she bought were good. I bought a latte but it came in a mug and I would prefer a to go cup with a lid as they stay hot much longer but it was a tasty latte. The GF blueberry scone was unfortunately dry and I had to wash it down with the latte. They had other items that I will try next time that may be a better choice. They had other vibe is very chill and relaxing. Many younger people gathered in the back section to work on laptops and the front area seemed to be the place for older people to talk or read books. They also had a selection of games to borrow and even cross-stitch kits to purchase. They also had some outdoor seating. Great small local business! I love the original location which is cozy and has loads of comfortable seating. You can pick out a mug to use off the wall if you'd like to. One of the best thing about this coffee shop besides the outstanding customer service is that they have a vast array of sugar free options! Their lavender scone both moist & crispy while maintaining its sweetness & flavor. Their coffee cake muffin although moist, packed with toppings (oatmeal, sugar, & cinnamon) was difficult to enjoy with all the extras, but was still devoured. Service has been top tier, answered any questions about their specialty menu (wide variety of choices, very difficult to come to a decision), & pastry menu is mouthwatering. Their "pirate" specialty drink was amazing. I love hot coffee but not hot to the point where you can't casually drink it without scolding yourself, when I got my drinks I was able to immediately enjoy it, perfect warmth in my honest opinion. Chai cherry latte was vey fragrant & smooth, their cold foam added an extra "umph" to an already enjoyable drink you can enjoy during any weather. Their main area is very lively, conversations going on & laughs, their second dining room is very intimate, lots of seating spaced far from each other so nobody is extremely close, very easy to have a private conversation without the feeling of annoying the person next to you. My girlfriend had described this shop as cozy and that's the perfect way to describe it. It's tucked away in the back of a strip mall but it's worth the hunt. Two (yes 2 next to each other) drive thru coffee providers are in the parking lot as you turn in...skip those! They weren't busy but Sweet Tee's was. Not busy uncomfortable, just a nice quiet crowd. We went to visit and drink coffee. Although there are upholstered chairs and sofas, we chose to sit at a table for two. We visited for close to 2 hours. I see they have a new location also in Olathe. Judging from the on-line pictures, I don't think it has this cozy feel. I'm in Leawood, but I'd make a special trip out there again. Good fun coffees. Hers was hot, mine was iced. I have been a customer of Sweet Tee's for a really long time. There is a great reason for that. Both the original owner and the current owner have made a commitment to a high quality product AND a commitment to supporting the local community. They have recently expanded their floor space for their coffee shop, with room now for small groups to meet, tired moms to rest, and students to study. They also have a really awesome bonus space that they rent out for small gatherings. I have held a work-related retreat in this space and a holiday cookie exchange. Karen was SO great to work with, so flexible and friendly. The space has a nice large table that fits 10 people, and some fun comfy furniture for lounging. I highly recommend Sweet Tee's for just about any activity that includes coffee, tea and sweet treats. read more

This is a adorable hidden coffee shop that I can't believe we just found out about. It's very cozy when you walk in with mugs hanging on the wall for you to pick from. Great menu selection with several yummy options as far as treats go. Service is nice. Sofas, tables and chairs are perfect with a few outdoor patio seating options. I tried the Chai tea latte - and wasn't super pleased with it but will definitely be back to try another drink. We got a blueberry muffin to share and it was delicious. I visited this coffee shop a couple weeks ago with a friend. Here is what I thought: A hidden gem: The shop is tucked away in an older strip mall off Santa Fe. (135th street) It is easy to miss and with neighboring shops, the parking is cantankerous. Customer Service: The two ladies working were cordial. I do love that the coffee is served in actual coffee mugs and not flimsy plastic cups. One of the ladies was nice enough to remove a chair that was wet from a spill. Atmosphere: Though the staff was friendly, but the patrons were a different story. It was not a very welcoming atmosphere and I have a feeling most of them were repeat customers. Everyone stopped and stared when I walked in with my friend. It was like they have not seen a Black woman before. It was rather uncomfortable! In general, Olathe has become better about diversity, but there is still a long way to go. I do love the local art and decor of the shop. It looks small from the outside but the inside is definitely a lot bigger. Prices: For a hot tea and a cappuccino, it was 8 bucks and some change. Not bad! The cappuccino was really good and they even drew a design in the foam. Overall: the three star rating was for the atmosphere.
