I asked them not to let him work on my car after the second time I brought it back they said ok. But I went back down there a couple hours later and the same fucking guy was working on my car. Robert & his team is the best! I found this place through Nextdoor & I'm so glad I came here. I initially started looking for a reputable mechanic after my dealership quoted me $900+ for an issue I doubted would be that expensive. It wasn't even a major issue & they told me my car might stop running if I didn't get it fixed right then (my car is only 5 years old!) Not shocking from a dealership but still crazy. Typically I like to give 5 stars for a competent and honest merchant. This shop is both, part of a duo under same management. There's a lot that they do right in this shop, such as estimating the job when you arrive for your appointment, and doing that job correctly and professionally. The service advisor, Peter, is also friendly, up to speed and pleasant to deal with. Here's what's disappointing and why they fell short with me first time customer.....the team doesn't communicate with each other in the customer's best interest. In my experience, it was disappointing to learn, after they did a 3 hr labor job for me at almost $500, (no parts included) that they didn't inform me that a relatively inexpensive part needed replace that could have saved me a the same labor charge in the same area of the engine. Further, I didn't learn about it from the Service Advisor who was at lunch when I checked out of the shop. When I called later with a question it occured to me when the service advisor Peter happened to mention the same area of the engine. Had the mechanic mentioned it, the service advisor would have easily reached me by phone with the feedback to offer me the option to replace an inexpensive part with little if any extra labor charge. I'll keep searching for good auto repair that comes also with good will for the customer. read more

Fantastic mechanic. I parked here one night when they were closed to have dinner next door. When I went to leave my car wouldn't start. I was trying to get a jump- when the security camera speaker came on and told me they saw a spark from my wheel well. Turns out I had a loose battery cable to starter. I took my car here for AC service after that and they checked the whole system and filled it. No upselling no upcharges- and only billed for Freon and and hour labor. So I brought my truck here! Gave it a once over checked all the fluids, hoses belts and said all I needed was an oil change. Oil filter $14 and oil.... Anywhere else would have charged $50 for the filter. Again never tried to upsell me only did what was necessary. Pete is the Man!! Friendly trustworthy mechanics service!! Highly recommend. read more

Great Place! Robert is the main proprietor. Being going there for years with my older cars. Service here is much better compared to the sister enterprise, "Hermosa Auto I" on PCH, where I found that proprietor was a lot more arrogant and presumptuous, whereas Robert and his people are very friendly and down-to-earth. Both Hermosa Auto I and II do share their expertise with each other, so occasionally my car would be sent there by Robert, and of course his staff also brought it back to Hermosa II, so it was 'user transparent', except for the explanation of the unusual car problem and fix. IT'S ALLIIVVVEEE!!! This place really is the best of the best! After having some off-road fun I had a faulty fuel pump. I went to two shops to fix AND replace it and I was still having issues starting up the engine.. I finally went to Hermosa Auto and instead of instantly assuming what the problem was, Robert said they wanted to do a detailed look around to check everything first. It turns out there was just a bad connection to the fuel pump wiring harness. Shoutout to Louis for working on the Jeep. Also thank you for checking all the fuses for me to see what I needed to replace, and then going out of your way to replace them. Everyone here is genuine and helpful beyond belief. This shop is honest and fair!! We usually take our vehicles to other places just out of habit, but we may reconsider! My son's Ford Truck didn't pass the SMOG check and we pretty much knew or hoped the fix would be simple. So the guy at the SMOG place told us about this shop. We took the truck there the next morning. I'm horrible with names, sorry..."the guy" promptly came out to greet us & feel out the situation with what might be awry. He even showed us a little device they use to check the sensors, or something like that. We discussed the SMOG check and produced the FAILED Smog check document. He said he could fix it & we could drive the truck for a while and then take the truck back to the Smog place for the free re-check. So, we left the truck and he said he'd let us know something later in the day. Sure enough, he called back and we agreed to have a part replaced. In a few hours after that, we got the call saying our truck was ready. He also said that the truck was taken to the SMOG place (a few blocks away) and had it tested. IT PASSED SMOG!!! We were shocked by the news & the fact that they took the time to get it done for us! He said that their original Auto Shop does SMOG checks, but this one doesn't. All in all, what quickly became a frazzling dilemma was remedied in no time at all! We thank you so much for getting the truck road ready for another SMOG year or two! I don't know if it's okay to yelp the same business twice but here goes. The first time I took my truck in, it had a serious oil leak and it needed major service after which the truck drove like new. My second equally great experience was to fix things that truly bothered me but other mechanics told me not to worry about (yes I am a silly female). Lou was AMAZING!! he really helped me out in a pinch. My car broke down on the way to the airport and Hermosa Auto II was the first place I was able to pull into. It was a Sunday and they weren't open but luckily Lou was there and was willing to help me out on his day off!! He fixed my car right up and let me keep my car there while I was traveling. This shop is the real deal and their work and customer service is excellent! I had a older vehicle with a smog issue. Robert (owner) had the car checked out and provided me with an estimate with all the details. They replaced 2 EGR parts and performed a Motor-Vac cleaning service due to carbon build up. The car passed it's smog test and result numbers looked really good. Robert took the car for it's smog test too which saved me time.
