I couldn't find any clear resources on how to fix this myself, and local tailors said they couldn't handle luggage repair, but recommended asking a cobbler. I found Mr Shine on Google and called ahead to see if they repair luggage, and then dropped off the next day. I was informed that they could try to replace the slider & pull, but that it may not be possible given some damage to the zipper, and they would keep me updated. Because they were unsure of the possible repair, I didn't have to pay anything at drop off (I really appreciated their transparency!). I got a call a few days later that the suitcase was fixed, and they were able to do the cheaper option after all. At pickup, the zipper teeth were straight, there was a leather reinforcement added to the end of the track, and the slider and pull were new and moved around smoothly. Their team is clearly skilled at what they do, especially for a repair that seemingly no other business wants to touch! They have beautiful handmade shoes on display in the store as well. The staff were kind and helpful both in person and over the phone. Definitely recommend for shoe, luggage, handbag repair & more!

Ok , so it's that time when duty calls and I have to search for and decide on a new pair of…read moreworkboots. Fortunately my employer pitched and provided me with a voucher as one of thier benefits. I attempted to go to the location in Brighton last week but unfortunately there was only one associate working and there were 3-4 potential customers ahead of me so I opted for the Thornton location, this week to give it another go. I walked just after opening and was greeted by Ms. Sandra. Who also winded up being my consultant on picking a new pair of boots. I explained my working conditions and what was important to me in a boot. After listening to my needs she walked me over to the for possibly lack of the correct term "fit right" analization area/ system. This system measures both feet and than you perform a walk test to see how your feet actually walk and make contact with the ground therefor enabling them to provide inserts for your boots/ hikers if needed. After that we discussed which boots would be best for my feet and working conditions. She explained the pros and cons of particular boots and I selected a free different ones to try on, she willing went to the back to check stock and returned for the try-on process. During this process I was fortunate enough to have the attention of both consultants Sandy and Travis, as I was the only customer for a brief period. They both willing answered all my questions and offered additional information that I did not think to ask. Even the different brands that they carried including Worx, Irish Setter, and Red Wing . Comparable on a grading scale as to good, better , and Best. They also offer many accessories including socks, gloves, hats and any and all maintenance needs for the upkeep of your new boots/shoes, plus many other items I did not mention. So in the end would I recommend? , most definitely! But I would recommend to set aside some time to really take a look and ask questions and try on different styles and be open to thier knowledge and expertise because to be honest, going in I wasn't going to buy the inserts because I've had them before and didn't think they did much to help but just thinking about it and listening to them both I figured why could it hurt because they do give you 30 days to return them if you don't think they are working out . So what's the harm? But it's all up to you. But trust your judgment as I did listen to them but pick your boots because they are your feet.

First off, I read the reviews and chose to use this business anyhow. I thought what's the big deal…read moreif he's a grumpy old guy if he does good work. I couldn't have been more wrong. I took a pair of Frye leather boots in to be repaired because the leather had pulled away from the bottom sole. I asked if this could be repaired. The owner said yes, but because he had to sew a leather piece on the inside some of that would show. I asked how much would show and would it be obvious. He indicated just a little bit (whatever that means to him it wasn't what I tight, he also said they were nice boots and should be repaired. Apparently it meant about two inches of wrinkled barely matched leather that looked horrible. Very obvious and unbearable. Honestly my 80 yo mother with cataract could have sewed it better. I asked that they be redone. When I picked them up again I can safely say they were even worse. The sloppy unskilled work is unbelievable. This guy needs to shut down his business, retire and never look at a pair of shoes again. LADIES! DO NOT TAKE YOUR NICE EXPENSIVE SHOES TO THIS GUY! He is rude and unskilled, don't go there even for a simple resole. I hate leaving bad reviews but this is 100% deserved. I will say he gave me $50 or the $80 I paid him back but I left with boots I will never wear again that will go straight into the dump. They are not fixable even by a highly skilled cobbler. Let the pictures show you how bad these look.

I looked for someone to repair 3 pairs of Italian leather boots. 2 pairs were new or almost new…read moretall boots, but the shaft was too tall and needed to be reduced 2 or 3 inches. 1 pair had a strap that was wearing out and needed to be tightened. I do not write reviews like this lightly, but my experience with JT Leather Crafter was poor enough…read morethat I feel obligated to warn others. I paid $80 for Jen to repair the handles on my bag. Within 28 days of receiving it back, the handles were already falling apart and began failing upon first use. Instead of using leather in the correct color, she used the wrong color and painted over it, which is not what one would expect from a professional repair. This was particularly upsetting because she charged me 25-50% more than the prices advertised on her website, citing increased material costs, and then proceeded to take shortcuts and use the wrong materials anyway. The issue was not limited to the quality of the work. The repair also took weeks longer than originally quoted. I was understanding about that delay because Jen said she was dealing with a personal emergency. But when the repair almost immediately began to fail, I requested a refund. She refused. Instead, she initially suggested that I drive the bag back to her home so she could attempt the repair again, which would have required over an hour of driving on my part. Since my husband and I are in the middle of a major move, this made that proposal particularly unreasonable. Only after I objected did she offer to cover shipping. By then, my confidence in her work was gone. I had no desire to send the bag back, and only agreed because I no longer had the time or energy to continue a completely unnecessary debate over an $80 repair that had already failed. What followed was an exhausting exchange in which she remained far more committed to defending her "policy" than to resolving a problem she had created. At one point in her extended messages, when I explained that I wanted a refund because having to go to the post office to send the bag back for another repair attempt would be very difficult, she responded, "I have nothing to do with your situation on moving to a different state." Later, she criticized me for not showing enough sympathy for her personal emergency, even though I had shown her nothing but understanding in my earlier messages. In fact, I had written, "I'm sorry you're dealing with so much right now and I completely understand. Please take care of what you need to, and whenever it's ready I'll come by and pick it up." What became clear is that Jen expects customers to extend grace and make allowances for her personal circumstances, but is unwilling to show the same consideration when someone else is in a difficult situation. During this exhausting back-and-forth, she repeatedly defended her refusal to refund the money, even though the repair had already failed. When I finally told her I was done discussing it, she continued messaging me until I explicitly asked her to stop. The most telling part of this experience was not just the poor workmanship. It was the complete unwillingness to take accountability afterward. Anyone can make a mistake. What matters is how they handle it when their work falls apart. In this case, the answer was excuses and refusal. Small businesses often ask customers to value craftsmanship and personal service. That cuts both ways. If you want people to support a small business, you also have to provide competent work and fair customer service. I did not receive either. The bag finally came back after Jen's second attempt to repair the handles, and, once again, the workmanship is subpar. The color is still wrong, and each handle was supposed to have a double leather strap--something I explicitly told her when I dropped the bag off. Instead, she only added a single leather strap to each handle. I would never use JT Leather Crafter again, and I would strongly encourage anyone considering leather repair in the Denver area to look elsewhere. I would rather pay someone else to redo the repair properly than deal with this business a second time. In summary, Jen's ethical failures are threefold: she accepted payment for a repair she did not actually deliver, she attempted to shield herself behind a policy that does not absolve her of responsibility for defective work, and then she shifted the cost and inconvenience of her own mistake onto me, the customer.
