I cannot express my disapoitment with Ricky and his team. We have taken our Mercedes Benz to this shop for nearly15 years. Like any shop, there are times you may have to take your car back if something just didnt get fixed quite right. When you have to take your car back and forth over 5 times... receive a call that new connectors need to be installed on the head lights at $300... and because youve have always trusted them, gave the okay... to find out that later down the road headed south the lights shut off through the grapevine and your now stuck in the dark and the work was never done. I call speak with the receptionist and explain everything, Angela says bring it in when you return back to town. Due to medical reasons I was gone for a few months. Once I return, I call, she is no longer with the company. So I explain everything to the new receptionist, she ask to be given the opportunity to make it right. So off I go to drop off the car, show her the connectors hadnt been replaced and just asked the work be done that we paid for. I get back to my car and they had rewired by hand with electrical tape the whole head light system. I paid $300 for new connectors nothing more or less. No one called asked if that can be done or even explain to us why you felt the need to do it. Now Im having all kind of electrical issues... You would think after 15 years and never any complaints... sending people to them for service, they valued us and our business... not so much. We had 3 cars that we had serviced by them. How much have we lost over these 15 years. After researching thoroughly... I believe I found a shop I can trust. Herndon Automotive... your Quality, Pricing, and Work Ethics have been lost. SMH... Unfortunately something is rotten in Denmark. My experience ended up being a lot like Angela's review. Her review is spot on. We were taken for repairs that were never done or not done correctly having to get the same problem fixed. Eventually we went somewhat else to get the leaks fixed that would never stop. Car came back damaged and even though they promised to make it right and fix it they did not.

0 fucking stars. Took my car in that wasn't turning on. They check it and state they need to go further into my engine which will be 500 dollars, that will NOT go towards my service. How fucking weird. I already spent 175 for diagnostic that won't go towards my service as well. I go and take it else where, and go figure it ends up just being my battery. Not sure how a diagnostic doesn't check the battery? Pretty sus and weird to me. read more

I brought my 2019 Mercedes GLE 400 in for a routine oil change and air filter service. After receiving my car back, I now have a check engine light and my transmission is not shifting properly. My Car was in PERFECT condition before the oil change. I took the car back so they can diagnose why I'm having these issues and they could not give me an explanation why and even wanted to charge me for additional services for the problem that they caused! The office manager Nadia was unsympathetic and disrespectful. The service manager Simon did not offer to resolve the issue either. This is a SHADY business that sabatoges customers vehicles in order to get you to spend more money. The other 1 star reviews pretty much reflect the same thing that happened to me so it seems this shop has a history of doing this to other customers. This was a Terrible experience. I will never return to this shop again and strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for your service needs. read more

I have brought my vehicle into this establishment for years. This last time was the last time they will ever rip me off. Came in for a basic oil change and left $1500 less because their "recommended" repairs with a car that was making a weird noise that it was not making before I brought it in. They claimed that with the installation of a new serpentine belt makes those noises??? WTF!! Inept people! Terrible stay away. I will tell anyone within earshot to stay away. read more

Knowledgeable Professional Shop! I've been taking my Mercedes 300E to Herndon Auto for almost 10 years for all repairs & maintenance, and they have always done me right. Always comfortable leaving my car with experienced knowledgeable people that perform quality work. Recently, I called them to see if they would work on my girlfriends Toyota Camry, with what felt like a brake or front end problem. I had already checked on a number of shops in Fresno & Clovis, but just felt better about taking it to someone I already knew & trusted. They diagnosed the problem, explained the repairs it needed, and provided a detailed estimate to fix. They did an excellent job at a very reasonable price. My car has been in the shop since Thursday. I've had to call the shop multiple times to see the diagnosis on my car. Still nothing . I call the next day and the manager says there's nothing wrong . I said yes there is the catalyc converter needs to be replaced and I mentioned my transmission fluid . I also mentioned before I left that it sounds funny when it started upend that it runs rough. So now I call Monday and the manager says he can't give me an estimate and that they drive my car and nothing is wrong . Now today is Tuesday and I called and the lady said there's no parts in stock for what I need . Little does she know I already checked that the parts are in stock . So I told her that and she said oh ok well I'll call. And she was like do you want after market parts and I said no give me the Lexus parts I need from there . And she said okay and that the manager called in sick today so my car isn't being worked on it's just sitting there . Thursday will be a week that it's been in there. I wish I could provide 0 stars. My mom referred me to Ricky, and I must say: Ricky and his right-hand man get 5 stars for friendliness. But, unfortunately, "friendly" is the only positive thing I can write about this shop. Buyer beware.... Ricky has a good story of achieving the American Dream, which is admirable, but I experienced his business practices as lacking ethics & lacking honesty (NOT part of the Am Dream.) I took my car here for an oil leak a few years back. I got it back with an oil leak AND a noxious exhaust smell that came into my car cabin thru the vents. Took it back 2-3 more times, but my car was never fixed, and more issues showed up. I thought it was just that my car was old & falling apart..... Eventually, I took my car to a reputable Clovis auto shop (Lion Auto) whose owner has a radio show. They *showed* me the *original* oil pan (that Ricky's shop charged me $400 to replace) was still in my car. The only oil leak repair that had been done was a **wrong-sized, wrong type** of oil pan plug that was jammed up in the oil pan hole to "stop" the leak. I'll never forget: When I had first gone to Herndon Auto Repair to pay for my "new" oil pan, Ricky told me that replacing the oil pan "cost $413, but I'll just charge you an even $400." I was so grateful for the tiny price break! ((I had had mounting med bills after a bad accident (not in my car), and I had told Ricky I could only afford what absolutely needed to be done because of my bills.)) I confronted Ricky the owner: "pay for the Clovis shop to fix my car, or I'll report you to the certifying board." I admit I raised my voice at him -- in person -- I was infuriated that he and his mechanics put me at risk in not properly fixing my car. He then called the Clovis shop and asked them to give *him* a price break for doing the repairs his shop should've done.... Ricky *did* pay the Clovis shop for my car to get fixed. Of note, my mom and sister had similar issues: they took cars there that needed multiple visits to get fixed,,, but they never seemed to get fixed completely. Hoping Ricky has cleaned up his biz practices. At his shop, he had once complained to me about his 5% profit margin. I'm sorry his profit margin is/was so low. But, taking short cuts and claiming to do work NOT done is not the answer. read more

I explained and they gave me several options. They recommended the most affordadble option, as I was rushing to San Diego. Was entertained while waiting in the comfortable lobby. Been going here for years but that last time I went they diagnosed my car incorrectly. I was told my rims were bent on the front so needed to replace them and my a/c controller needed to be replaced. So I bought new rims for the front and purchased a rebuilt a/c controller which the rims didn't fix the problem. The tires belt had separated and the A/c controller was replaced but didn't fix the air flow to the center. So after $$$ spent to replace what they recommended I took my car to Autohouse in Clovis and the fix both problems first time. read more

Writing this to save anyone some time and money. This place is shady. This will be long but hopefully you take this into consideration before coming here. I brought my car here starting about 3 years ago. Scheduled maintenance. They recommend replacing my bushings about a year and a half ago. 2 weeks later my whole shock rips off from my car. They claimed they touched nothing having to do with the spring but offered to repair it "at cost". I had never had problems before with them so I took the offer. 4k miles before fish I had transmission fluid changed. Also had my power steering pump changed (which still doesn't work correctly ) So my grandmother goes to pick up my car from me and Arturo (one of the owner's) tells her "I really recommend you change the transmission fluid it's filthy and has metal shavings in it". My grandmother is not stupid and looked at him and told him "how can that be, did you not forget you changed it 4,000 miles ago? You should go check your computer". He quickly came back and said "oh Yea you're fine". Then and there we should have known something was wrong. Then I tell him my license light doesn't work. He tells me my rear SAM module is overheating and fried and says "it's serious" I replace it asap. Turns out my car just didn't like the LED lights I had in it. Put regular bulbs and everything works perfectly. I then took it in to be regular serviced later on and I mention that it loses oil fast. I have an AMG which is high performance and uses 9quarts of oil. He told me this seal to the engine is ripped and leaking. Of course it's the most expensive seal. Take it to Mercedes and the guy tells me it's fine and that AMG burn oil normally under heavy use (I drive fast) and that this is normal there is no leaks. This is where I had it and stopped going to them. Flashback about a year later my grandmas 2007 S550 is acting up. Sometimes completely won't start. No dash light up but the rest of lights work. She takes it to them and they end up telling her both her batteries are bad and she needs a new alternator (without having checked it). My grandmother is not too familiar with parts so agrees to the $2,000 price tag without telling me. Car still having the same problem. I open it up and it was 1 loose bolt connected to the negative battery wire. Long story short, people come here thinking they're saving money vs. The dealer. Everytime u take your car in, Arturo has a list of things he "strongly recommends replacing as soon as possible." Truth is he rips you off so bad, the dealership is actually cheaper. All of his mechanics are very kind and nice, but you will notice you never get to talk to them. Only Arturo. This is just some of the things he tried selling us or ripped us off with. Save your money, go to the dealer or find another mechanic. I beg all of you, do NOT come here unless it's for a basic oil change. read more

I once had a great view of this place until they provided the worst service to a car I've ever had. They provided me a service and charged a substantial amount. I then subsequently took it to a professional who proceeded to let me know there were tools left in my engine block as well as a broken parts inside the engine cabin that were said to be completely fixed.. I was referred to this shop by a friend. I have brought the two Mercedes that I have owned about half a dozen times over a few years to their shop. Other than a couple of times, my car has had to stay overnight for relatively minor repairs. They use customers cars to pick up and drop off customers. They are very slow and an oil change can take a few hours. They dont get back to you at the time they say they will in order to give a status of your car. In addition....two repairs resulted in them breaking items in the engine compartment and not telling me (engine oil dip stick and plastic engine cover). I didn't notice until I got home and opened up the hood. The last visit I had consisted of also replacing the wiper blades but when I found out the price was going to be $48 plus tax, I hesitated until I asked if it was Mercedes factory parts and they told me yes; however, later I noticed that the wiper blades are Bosch. At times there is a problem in ordering the right parts so it requires another trip to the shop. I am very disappointed with this auto shop. I greatly dread taking my car there because of the hassles I have experienced. In the future I will be looking for a new place to have my vehicle serviced. read more

I needed service B on my 2017 E Class. Thought I would save a couple bucks and go here instead of visiting the dealership as usual but "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten." Called and asked if they had any courtesy cars or a shuttle and they said yes. When I arrive they had neither and dropped me home in my own car. But it gets worse, I pick up my car and drive it home to Clovis and notice they haven't even cleared the Service B notification from the car. On top of that the car wasn't even washed..COME ON at least GET THAT RIGHT!! So the next day a busy medical professional drove all the way back from the other side of Clovis to get the notification cleared. I asked the owner that for my inconvenience of having to drive back if there was a small gesture of customer service he could give. He said no that he had plenty of customers. He could have made a first time customer into a long time customer who would additionally referred more friends to this place but lost that privilege due not only to the mediocre job by his employees but additionally by his attitude when given the opportunity to rectify the issue. DO NOT COME HERE, I sure will not and will spend the extra money to get it fixed the first time at the dealership because time is money and this dealership does not value your or my time. read more

I have been taking my Mercedes here for over 7 years, when I first started taking it there customer service was a lot better. The owner Ricky Altero would greet you and was very nice, they were quick to diagnosis what the problem was and their prices were reasonable. I no longer think that's the case. I have gradually have noticed a decline in the service , the prices are now comparable to Mercedes Benz service and the turn around in having your vehicle even diagnosed takes longer, with me 2 days and counting. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired now. The do good work but no longer happy with them and will no longer recommend them to anyone. If you pay good money you should at least feel good about your service and how you are treated. read more
